I'll tell you exactly how-- they are elderly, they worry about the care of their spouse and/or their adult children & grandchildren. They want to provide EVERYTHING for them. They get towards the end of their life and realize they never got the cushion they had hoped for. They worked hard and maybe even invested a little but never had that fabulous luxury vacation or they couldn't fly all their kids and grandkids home one last time to all be together. Until you actually get old or watch a parent get old or develop a memory issue, you really have NO clue the urgency or desperation that elderly people come to. It's so sad and it's gut-wrenching when one of them has to take care of the other in their last months and days. They HOPE for money to appear so they won't have to worry about providing all the care their spouse needs. All the while, their cognitive capacity and decision making is a little more tired and not as sharp as it always had been. THIS is what Mike G dug into during his disgusting 4 year scam. He insisted that you had to give a portion to charities, that's why they thought he was 'so good and kind'. Our family is forever changed because of him. We truly lived the perfect life (not rich in $ but definitely with love and experiences) and he robbed us all of that. It will never be the same. Our family is forever sadly changed.

Economic downturns are when the house of cards start to fall and these scammers get caught because the investors start pulling money out.

Should that convention organiser be charged for helping promote an obvious scam? They can’t claim ignorance when Chandran is advertising $55 billion returns and a Bentley from just a $100k “investment”.

    • @jaxsonbateman

Maths has to come into it too. A lot of people can't comprehend just how much a billion is, especially in regard to a billion dollars. To anyone who can understand just how much that is, an 'investment scheme' offering it as a return - for a paltry 100k no less - would probably die of laughter due to how ridiculous it is.
The average person probably knows barely enough maths to get by day to day, but ask them to do much more than that and they're in trouble. Those people then go on to invest in risky and fake enterprises like this, and get massively burned. It's a bit of a combination of lack of intelligence and desperation to escape their socio-economic situation.

@@jaxsonbateman Thank you for this explaination because I was wondering how people fall for this. 57 Billion is half of Warren Buffet's net worth. There is no way that you can get there with just 100K. Especially overnight.
I also think it is a lack of understanding about business. I always say "Business is a life skill." If you understand business models and math you can spot these scams from a mile away. Your explanation added much needed clarity.

    • @lasskinn474

@@IAmTheAnswerer common sense is a skill.
mike g's big dill's rewards are doubly so that they make no sense at all. 2 billion dollars PLUS a bonus of 25k for a car.
it works as a funnel and a filter, so the victims wont call the cops because they think it is legit no matter what happens and will dial pizza hut instead of police by accident when they try to complain to the police and once pizza hut forwards them to the police they'll just babble annoyedly at the cops without explaining how they got scammed or finding out the right officials to make the complaint to.
