I followed this match 43 years ago but I am astonished to see how those players were able to attack and defend much better than any team Brazil has put on the pitch in the past 30 years.
Brazil never entered a match concerned with defense. Their world class forwards were always expected to score more goals than the opponent.

wowwwwwwwwwwwww fantastic images!!!
Brian Clough should have been England 🏴 manager
Cloughie was a fool
@@cleightorres3841 Not a fool, just not suited to international management which is more about selection and basically a part time job, whereas club management is more about day to day involvement and motivation which is why Clough was so good at it because he was one of the best motivators of players ever. However I don't think experienced internationals would have liked being told to 'get your hair cut' or 'take your hands out of your pockets.'
@@Ruda-n4h i agree, that might have been problematic
35:53 Dude just performs a Sombrero is clear in line to the goal, there is another team mate entering full speed on his right in a clear line to goal and he chooses to send the ball to the corner. WOW.
Watching this really makes an observer realize how much the quality and talent of Brazilian football has declined in recent times.
Concordo plenamente, amigo. Hoje o futebol brasileiro respira por aparelho.
I love the Brazilian national anthem, it would have to be one of the best national anthems.
How tall was Socrates (R.I.P).
Evan back then you could see the difference Brazil play the ball through the middle, England knock it up the wings , and it's not much different today .
Mike jagger goal-keeper ?
What good times when European soccer teams looked like European teams and not African teams.
ad to this team FALCÃO and CARECA and you have the best squad ever ( who were injured at the time ) with aa bit of Telê Santana's magic on top.
Let us be as critical with those legends as we are today with our current modern players shall we.
10:25 Great backhill to clear it for Zico
10:31 Zico makes a mistake and passes the ball behind the player.
10:45 Zico should have passed the ball first touch to Reinaldo. Slowed the play unnecessarily.
11:15 Reinaldo mistake passing to Zico. Invited the defender to the party.
11:35 ( I know I am only talking Brazil's mistake ) but that HAIRDO and MUSTACHE can't go unnoticed.
11:46 Éder mistake. Pass was too strong.
11:55 Sócrates should have passed it to Reinaldo in the middle. The Strike was also very poor.
12:21 Sócrates criminaly careless pass
14:08 That was never a foul in today's football.
15:13 Reinaldo didn't know what to do with the ball
15:39 ZICO mistake on the long ball attempt
16:05 Sócrates overhit the pass and made it easy for the defender.
18:05 Cerezo forces a long ball and gets it wrong. (Socrates lack of athleticism didn't help it either)
19:02 Éder should have done more with that ball. The defender did well.
Before 10minutes into the game
Estos amistosos valen más que los partidos oficiales de hoy...
I wonder at that time if the English fans had any idea that they were watching perhaps the greatest Brazilian team ever assembled in soccer world history
Brasil forever 🔥
Dr Socrates (1954 - 2011) 🇧🇷
Beautiful football before money control everything. the way the Brazilian team touch pass the ball should be taught at football academies . Brazil number 7 , Paolo Isidoro was amazing
1:20:05 Brilliance by Eder
this brazil football team is Top of The Top during history of the Game
Zico era genial.
I haven't watched football for yonks, but seeing these old games, all the marvellous times come back to me!
ZICO THE BEST
