Awesome vid as usual! One tip though, don't put the circle hook through the lower jaw.. the bunker will suffocate because they need their mouths open to circulate oxygen in the gills correctly. Pop the hook through the upper lip only, leaving the mouth free to open. Or you can bridle it
I heard of a tactic when you have a bluefish on your plug a good striper could be following it. Let the line go slack, so the bluefish comes free, keep working the plug and the bass might hit it. Pretty similar to what happened at the end there when you caught that really nice bass! Great vid Jonny!
Hey man loving the videos! I fish the same area I've probably passed you a million times. Let me know if you want to come out on my center console I keep it right in that area.

Live bait is the way to go. Do you ever fish eels ? I’ve busted some big bass on them.
Is keep that half bunker on. Put hook under neck but not below spine. I don’t hook in lip
Whered u get the kayak how much was it
Thx for nothing
@@johnnysar8615 Looks like the Old Town PDL 132, could be the 120.
Awesome video, as usual.
Please make a video on your knots and leaders. Would be super helpful to many.
thanks Justin I'll make one soon
Thank you for this. Never caught one on a pogie before
Try snagging them next time you see a school of bunker. Very fun way to target them
Circle hooks blow
Textbook A+ effort and result. Love the weighted treble snag job... have to be prepared. Stay safe dude!
thanks man thank god I had weighted trebles with me lol
Do you like the oldtown more than the hobie
They both have their pros and cons. I prefer the bike style pedal over the Hobie pedal drive
You're making me jealous! I've gotta get my stuff out of storage.
get on it Ralph!!
Use a more substantial rod and dont stress your fish so much. You will save lots of fish for next year.
Got my first striper ever on tube and worm this weekend from the kayak. Got a nice 26”
nice the tube and worm is killer
That was exciting just imagining the drop and sudden take of those fish! I need some of this man haha
yea definitely want to live line more it is very fun. Just need to keep finding that bunker!
Beautiful...well done! I was out at the rip today and caught about 12 25-inchers and 1 28 keeper...

never heard of that before but that very well could have happened. It felt like I had a blue, dropped it, then picked up a striper soon after
What kayak is this, is it stable for standing
Very nice video, can’t wait for the striper fishing to improve on the north shore where I’m fishing.keep up the good work!
On the bunkah lol
what cove are you fishing in? And what kayak are you using?
When he hooks up on a fish he always think is a bluefish lol your brain 🧠 may be traumatized with those fish lol
haha yep my mind always jumps to bluefish... they have scarred me
WOW!! Great Fish! Hoping to hit that area next week!
Woohoo! Awesome fish man!
What’s your rig for live lining pogies?
nice video! where is this in RI?
Pro tip. Bring a Gatorade bottle, fish all day.
How are you liking the Circle hooks? Do you still find some gut hooked?
Occasionally when I chunk some bass do get gut hooked but definitely less than J hooks
That’s a nice night of fishing, well documented !
Wish I could run into some fishing like this but I'm inland in Minnesota on my YakAngling tube channel GREAT VIDEO!!!
Good day n the kayak. What model OT you fishing this season?
PDL 132 Bigwater. Digging it so far
@@Fish-RI looks great
Awsome video, what kind of line do you use on your poles?
softsteelusa.com/
I use these guys for my braid/flouro leaders they are really good
Where in Ri?
Very nice
Way to go Bravo..
i just moved to new england from texas and dont know the area too well. where do you launch your kayak?
Great vid. Love seeing the ocean state videos. Were these fish tide dependent or did the tide not matter because of the bunker schools?
Thanks man. This was definitely a bait driven bite, they were terrorizing this bunker school for days
New kayak what happened with your pro angler
Could you tell me what you are using for line? Braid with a mono leader ??
softsteelusa.com/
30 lb braid tied to a 40lb flouro leader. I use softsteel for both they are really solid
striper rod and reel setup?
That is the Okuma ITX spinning reel with the SRT rods. Great set up for what he is doing!
