Beautiful song in honor of bass player Ron LaPread's wife who passed away after having become ill when she had joined the band on tour. After they got home she was diagnosed with cancer and when Ron was at his piano Cathy came and worked out the melody of the song with him. He took back to the band and they asked what was it called and he simply told them (sic) "It's like, you know, Zoom.

I didn't know it at the time, but my music teacher taught me about the specifics of music:
pitch; keys; harmony; timing; chord progression; etc. Things that also taught me---patience.
If you're not taught the essential "basics" of music---you'll be extremely limited in terms of what you'll be able to create. This is exactly why so much of today's "pop" music sounds essentially the same.
Yeah...they sell millions more records; but, the quality of the music just isn't there. This is also why when these "kids" grow out of adolescence--they're digging up their parents music.
You don't necessarily have to major in music to be able to create music. But---having an awareness of what EXACTLY a "musical palette" CAN consist of?!?...gives you soooo much more ingredients to create from.
Personally, except for jazz---I don't see r&b being elevated in a way that is adding onto what has already been created.
      Really makes me sad.
      (Sorry for the rant.)

I’m telling my age but oh well…the 70s was about the musical groups/bands. Maze! WAR! The Commodores! They made good music! They had to because of the 8 track. There was no rewinding lol! You had to sit and listen to the whole 8 track!
