I also found Crackdown 1 and 2 really fun romps (the 1st is better overall, but 2 is just plain dumb fun still) but the most interesting thing to me is the story. You are basically helping an evil agency take over a city (and do that around the world) and while Crackdown 2 kind of sidesteps this a little, it still makes it clear the Agency is evil and stuff. Especially the alt. ending (or the one that was cut out, never remember which) which is even more bleak imo. Wish they would have gone further with that story in Crackdown 3, but that's a story for another day....
One little tidbit I think I should mention about crackdown 2 is keys to the city and thrusters. They weren't apart of the main game, but instead apart of another dlc like deluge was, it was meant for after you had beat the game. But after alot of xbox 360 games were brought to xbox one, alot of dlcs became free. Meaning all the KTC stuff was made free aswell.
Those fuckin rocket boots... they weren't put in until the Keys to the City update and it completely fucked most of the game's challenge. You don't need to explore deep and grind climbing to get level 5 agility so that you can reach the helicopters. Ya just take the boots and don't even need the helicopters. I was so surprised they didn't understand this when they put the boots in. Play through that game without the boots and the spawnable chopper and its miles more rewarding.
I prefer the boots as an option. As someone who beat the first Crackdown just months ago, it was nice to have the boots in the sequel. It's helps speed up the monotony of having to collect all those orbs again in the same map from the first game.
I have so many great memories of this game. Having my mom let me buy keys to the city so i could use cheats then creating "stores" on the rooftops of the infected parts of town. I fully contribute this game for my love of roleplay like gta5rp. Story is bad but the sandbox is what made it a gem.
nah crackdown 2 is one of the best iteration of superhuman vs. monsters for having an openworld setting despite other games doing it fells off. Everytime im thinking this game is even better if it got new maps and missions than GTA 5.
They should have made the terrorists structured with a hiearchy like the gangs from CD1 , hell even if they had added unique infected mutant variants hidden throughout pacific city like bosses it would have been more interesting, with that said I still think CD2 had the best keys to the city, the gear the wingsuit, helicpter and the magnetic grenades + exploding propain tanks was a blast oh and the four player co-op was too much fun, Crackdown 1 was flashier had badass vehicles and the gangs were progressively more fun to hunt down plus, CD1 gives me Robo-cop vibes, whereas CD2 gave me Judge Dredd/Escape from New York vibes.
I personally liked the war-torn, terrorist AND mutant approach of this game, and wish Crackdown 3 would've improved upon it. I thought the gang aspect of the original was OKAY, but overrated. I enjoyed Saints Row 1 & 2 more for that.
I think the story in C2 adds to the overall aesthetic of the game and gives it context much moreso than the original, but I do agree that the first one is better.
The thing about the thrusters is that they are dlcs up until you max out all of your skills in crackdown 2. I did not purchase the dlc since I was young when I got the game and I still play it. However I figured out after grinding out all of the abilities that you are given the thrusters as soon as everything is level 6. So unlike crackdown 1, crackdown 2 gives a ton of perks when you try and max out your skills. Also there are some vehicles you cannot have the chopper pick up. This includes some of the Cell vehicles but it also includes the delivery van 2.0 and the ramp truck. You have to max out your driving skill to get those instantly for free. Also Crackdown 2 is way more difficult than Crackdown 1 which I love for challenges. Crackdown 1 is just less entertaining to me entirely, I get why people like it, which is for the boss system but I don't like it. I actually find the story of Crackdown 2 quite interesting and the gameplay is fun when you are maxed out compared to Crackdown 1's lack luster end result.
Well, you are. Crackdown 1 has you raiding the Shai-gen lab and releasing the early freaks onto the streets. The story about a scientist releasing it was bullshit since the freaks simply evolved when they were released.
I fell in love with this game and its the first one I have played but disappointed that it's not on PS Because of this game I was looking at crackdown 3 /4
"Crackdown 2" also bored me for some reason back then. I still love the first entry in the series, but the second even with the same town, i had no interest in. Maybe it´s the whole "Zombie" Setting. Playing as a Superhero and fighting against Zombies is not fun in my eyes. Whenever there are Zombies in a Game, they have to be a threat. Just like in any other Zombie Survival Game. But Zombies and Superheroes? It just doesn´t mix very well to me. I wish they just went with the same bad guys from the first game for this.
@@mtchll_chndlr it was not it got bad reviews and everyone really just stopped playing it the story wasn't good just a big disappointment I waited like 10 years for it and just sucks
a crackdown 2 review in 2022 boutta cry with joy
How I remember playing the crap out of this game when I was younger. Loved this game, too bad the 3rd game was an absolute disappointment
This game was basically my gta before my parents let me get gta… I played the living daylights out of it and beat it I can’t tell you how many times.

The thrusters *are* awarded to you once you max out the agility skill, except once it’s maxed, the thrusters do not take up the grenade slot.
I will say this : I find how this game reuses a map from its previous game way more interesting than how Tears of the Kingdom did it.

Just to anyone who sees this video now the first two crackdown games are free last time I checked
Yep, along with any dlc you would have had to buy.
I really liked the 2nd game

I realised my playing of keys to the city was essentially what got me into Gmod with the building stuff on rooftops and creating hold-out locations
@@imalfie7079omg I thought I was the only one who did that🥹
This game was so fun when me and my brother bought xbox live gold with 2 consoles and played them together.
It's free at the Xbox store right now (August of 2023)
Both Crackdown 1&2 are free on the xbox store

i have to diagree that 1 is better
This is the Quake 2 of the series.
Your videos are pretty good and enjoyable, I hope the channel grows so you can get a bigger fanbase!
Standing on the platforms is boring, but i found it as a nice breather to get a quick drink in

I feel this game is perfect fit for me
Excellent review, the first one is very close to my heart, but i was let down by 2, it never truly felt like a sequel
This game was too good. I played the crap out of this one and the first one
Going off what game informer said this game initially had a main protagonist with the name peter and you were the reason the infection happened
Well, you are. Crackdown 1 has you raiding the Shai-gen lab and releasing the early freaks onto the streets. The story about a scientist releasing it was bullshit since the freaks simply evolved when they were released.
wow i got both of the crakdown 1 and 2 for free on my xbox series s awesome game.
Can we all agree that crackdown2 ended better than 3 from story and overall fun
Preciate ya bruh!!! Know dat!
Has better movement and driving than cyberpunk

Now talk about the disappointment child, crackdown 3.
Played 1 now playing 2 (as they were free). Don't think I'll be playing 3.
I was a big fan of 2. 3 sucked lol

The first game bad guys were all funded by the agency…why not have the second game have you fight the agency back?
I don't like C2 very much. It's repetitive imo. Even more so than the first.
The first one is something very special. The second one is fine lol
Should have been called letdown
epic games copied crackdown for fortnite and enhanced it.
Crackdown 2 didn't feel like a sequel to me, it felt inferior in every sense
It's like the Quake 2 of the series.
J Scruggs no love deep web
I am not excited at all for next week´s episode.
Because we all know it will be "Crackdown 3". 🤮
