All these achievements should be done first try in a single sitting or else its not a real speedrun

Thank to dr4gonblitz I have now signed up to the retro achievements as I love retro games and I think it's a great idea and gives me yet another reason to play them again
IDK if visualMN got his response in chat of the game, but if he wants to level his familiars quickly, they need to get duplicator, power of sire, and go to the inverted chappel and kill that polktergeist once and time again. They'll level in no time.

I understand why people have a problem with save states but on the other hand I'm NOT going to spend 30 min alone on loading screens due to deaths or fucking up the setup. I'm not at all fucked up about saving time when getting these achievements.
I am just not good enough at video games. I would definitely die over and over before beating like the 2nd boss.

Yeah honestly there is no way to defend that Family Matters achievement because the only way to really get around to killing them without taking damage is literally blade dash simulator with a bit of cheesing. Like there is nothing casual in that strat because you have to be a master at richter movement in order to stay up that long with just blade dashes and uppercuts. It would be fine that in order for it to be more casual is take like 3 hits max because there are 3 enemies in total and cant use item crash, but no item crash damageless no hearts is a clear sign of someone that thought you could compare alucard to Richter in game, Alucard can jump over all the hoops to avoid damage, Richter has to do fucking magic for it lmao

I love your viewpoint about achievements, totally agree. I actually kinda got addicted to trophy hunting for a while and it started to ruin some gaming for me so now I am back to enjoying the games and trophys are just a nice addition and not the goal.
These kind of battles ask if there is a way to cheese them before they start.
Can anyone tell me what version of the game this, if it's emulated, and what controller he's using? Also are the achievements part of the game version?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but despite DB saying so, the candles in the Inverted Castle are identical to the normal castle, aren't they? The Rock and Stopwatch that dropped right before that are the same spots they are found i the normal castle, and I recall always being able to find any other sub-weapons in their normal castle spots. Regardless, this series has been a blast to watch, as annoying as some of the achievements can be.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I'm curious... isn't there a massive loophole to the "no save rooms" achievement? It says "Don't use a save room to *refill your health*"... but if you go into a save room at full health (i.e. after a life max up to refill), then you haven't used the save room to refill your health, have you? You're just saving...

I don't know man, have you seem Doom Eternal and lots of other games achievements? They're just insane.
I love save states, but I've never had to use them playing SOTN.. .but I'm also not Wizard at it like you are DB

The only time i've ever needed save states in SotN was when i was testing things when i was trying to learn some of the speedrun strats/glitches. Beyond that I cant think of many achievements that would benefit from save states besides some super niche stuff but not in SotN. I'll admit i have used mods to make some achievements easier (Who actually works a normal job and has time to farm every shard and item in Bloodstained with only a 1-3% drop rate). I work 48 hours a week with an extra 8 hours added into that for commuting. I wish i had more time to game like i used to but got a wife and 4 cats to take care of plus the house and lawn. Bein an adult sucks....
