- How to plan and then build your very own custom village, town or city in Minecraft! I have made my fair share of villages whilst playing this game so today I will be sharing with you my best tips and tricks for how to do it yourself!

The most important thing to remember when building a village/town/city is you must ALWAYS include a gravity defying squid.

Love these tips. I think setting out with a good plan before placing a block is a key for larger projects like this. Also just placing one block at a time can really help with big project grind.

What do you mean by “just placing one block at a time”?
Do you mean literally popping in, placing a single block, and then popping out? Or are you just saying “don’t do too much at once”?

Im trying to make one but having no idea really of how far away from each other they should be how tall are they etc, the list goes on 🤭
I am making a medieval one thats the building I really like
Im not good at the roof so I can actually build different shapes but then the roof is off grrrrr
I also find the houses are huge like 15- 22 blocks high too big for my little village in the tutorials
So Im still searching for some tuts in the smaller versions

I try, spend two weeks terraforming, a day collecting materials, start building a house, run out of materials, life gets in the way and by the time 6 months pass and you come back, you’re wanting to build a complete different project😩

I was thinking of building a lot of villages with a lot of districts. Like pumpkin district, mushroom district, flower district, magical district, and caves and cliffs district all inspired by Lizzie/LDShadowLady. This really helped me thanks 😊😊❤❤
the most important thing to remember about when building a village is: build other buildings than houses, like playgrounds, restaurants, shops etc., stick to your village aesthetics and take care of everything you would eventually need like food, maybe storage house, farms etc.
Also if you find yourself getting tired or burnt out of the particular village aesthetic you've chosen after the first few houses, you absolutely can have a mildly different aesthetic within the same village as long as it's in a different "district".
Don't mix and match houses. Do mix and match neighborhoods.

I'm currently in the process of buildind a small town, and even though I do have a vision on how it should roughly look like, I don't really mark out anything. The reason is that I don't really know which shape one or the other building would have until I start working on it.
The way I do it is I look for some references and inspirations (already existing builds in the community), take notes of what caught my eye, and then basically try to wing it in a creative copy. Though sometimes I still end up following a tutorial or someone's design entirely. When this happens, I leave a sign and credit the author of the original design. Finally, I take tons of screenshots of what I've made in creative and just copy the build block for block in survival.
Omg the sign with credits is an amazing idea!!! And that would give a identity to the villager living in that house in my opinion omggg
Achieving this in survival mode is pretty challenging. But, better with creative mode so we can plan on such design about what material would we use.
I really love these videos there super helpful! The hardest part I have is with roads in my city, making them not look boring 😬

Love these tips thank you for all the advice I was planning on making a village in this new SMP that is having a reset for 1.19 but needed inspiration so thank you also what kind of architecture was your oak wood dock village ❤️☺️
Some tip: If your villager wander around too far from the main path, consider using dirt path instead of stone path.
Villager prefer to walk on dirt path instead of others. Additionally, they hate jumping to reach places, so make sure to make a flat path.
Is there anyway where you could show us how to build a storage building? Also I love your builds I’ve watched every episode of your mountain village build

I usually built this one by one for example I built one house in one day. Because I am still a student so I have to study. It is the easiest way to me

Question! I started making a village, and I dug into the terrain a lot! making the surrounding area feel very cut off. And I can't seem to find a stopping point, like a place to stop building. I continue to keep digging into the terrain making the rest of the world look out of place. Are there any tips for that?
I would personally try to slowly transition from your custom terrain into regular Minecraft terrain, getting rid of that harsh line and making it more gradual :)

Great tips never would have thought about planning before building I recently made my first village and it looks like crap not to mention boring so I'm tearing it down and starting over with a plan and theme your video really helps thank you :)

Idk if you do or not but you should totally do the small things at the end, like wells and carts and light posts and things I think that'd be very helpful

I've got a dumb question - you mentioned considering a creative test village to practice before your build... So I understand this. But do you mean to say that these builds are actually made in survival mode? Or is everything creative mode here?
Everything is made in survival here. But I would’ve practise/test built them before in creative :)

How do I populate my village?
You can move some villagers into place and they should automatically acquire workstations and beds :)

Creatin tip videos is a good idea, but we have seen the overviews of your recent villages a lot, also in past video's. It would be nice to have you explaining while building something different in the background, since your audio is amazing, but the video is lacking attention.
