  • After a brief delay due to catching Coronavirus - it's the Final weathering on the Meng King Tiger in 1/35 Scale - in this video I do the last chipping, pigments (with wet effects) and mud on both the hull and tracks and finally end this video series !
Thank you all so much for sticking by my channel through this huge video series. I am never doing a series so long again!! It has damaged my channel traffic due to the long videos causing low watch time and the low comment level. I guess shorter, punchier content is the way forward so I will return to this format in future.
Loads of projects ready to paint guys so please SUB and hit the bell icon! I am still committed to getting the channel back up and running. Please comment if you want to ask anything, I try my best to answer everyone. If you're new to this series all the previous parts are here:

    • Building the Meng King... - Part 2
    • Building the Meng King... - Part 3
    • Building the Meng King... - Part 4

Such a modest gentleman.... Says he is outside his comfort zone and a bit rusty.... Then produces this piece of art and skillsmanship... Brilliant..
Additionally these videos are just pure therapy to watch.. Hypnotic and soothing.... I can't wait until I get to the stage where I am able to practise these techniques...
    Thanks

What an awesome compliment thank you. I jumped right back into the hobby with this one, then pushed myself hard with the hasegawa zaxis build straight after, it worked to get me back on track after such a long break. Glad you're enjoying the videos there should be more than ever this year, hopefully they all make you feel the same

Wow, true artistry. Inspiring me to clear my garage bench and start modeling again and try some of these techniques. We don’t mind long videos at all, we don’t all have ten minute attention spans. Cheers 👍🏼

I'm glad to see you are back :) I remember seeing your videos back from 2014 - I had just started with the hobby then. I think it was a video on color modulation on a Panzer IV and some weathering on olive drab vehicles. Thanks for these great videos! I agree that long video formats may not be to everyone's liking - but they're extremely useful for beginners who really get to see how these modelling techniques work.

Thanks yeah those videos are still up, I still get comments from time to time, they were quite popular at the time but they look awful now in the HD era. Thanks for taking time to comment and give feedback on the format

First video series of yours that I've watched - yes I did watch all the KT episodes.
I'm not a beginner, built a few over the years, so this series reinforced & refined a number of techniques I use regularly. There were a couple I've heard of but not yet used (but will give them a try now) so thanks for the inspiration. Coincidentally my last finish (a Zvezda Su85) was the first time that I used one of the 'streaking' enamels as my fixer, it worked superbly as I was trying to replicate dried and damp thick winter / spring mud - going to be using that technique a lot in future.
Looking forward to more builds & vid's to come.
    All the best from NZ.

Its great to hear from someone with hands on experience, noone can argue with that! I was applying a logic to it and erring on the side of caution but in this hobby someone somewhere will pull out a reference pic showing the exact opposite! I do really like the splatter effect so having a pass to go heavier with it suits me

@@harryainsworth6923 thanks I appreciate that. When I got into the hobby fully and started doing forums and groups etc there was still some resistance to heavy weathering in the hobby and chipping was questioned regularly as to how much it really happened, I guess this kind of makes me apply it in a really controlled fashion. It's a nightmare when you consider the effort required compared to blasting it with sponge chipping but hey I enjoy the result
