Oh my gosh, you are brilliant! I just got an RV and really want to use my Starlink with it, but hate carrying around the dish on the trip. I am going to study all your videos before I attempt this. Thank you!!
You said in this video that the Mofi 5500 doesnt support PoE, yet i called the manufacturer and was advised that it does support being powered by PoE meaning that we should be able to power it without separate DC input
A just what i needed to work out how it set up my dishy , couldn't see any 3d printer files to the dishy enclosure ? are they listed on here? that for your fantastic and infprmative video Cheers David
Fantastic video. Very clear and well thought out. Just ordered a power supply. I work wildfires in BC and have found the Starlink amazing. Since I change support vehicles I plan on making this into a little kit to easily move around. Now looking for a small efficient PoE router to use with it. Since I need to place the antenna in different locations depending on where I’m parked I will keep the cable full length. Also want the ability to go back to the original router when around AC power so am looking to make an adapter to go from the existing cable to the new power supply. Just need to find the right female connector. Thanks again for pointing me to a great starting point!
This is pure gold!! I have just ordered a starlink roam and started looking into beat ways of mounting it flat. A ton of good info, thanks a lot! I will be following those for sure.
I know you’re preaching to the RVers, but we boat people are also part of the choir. Appreciate it! Gonna have to scrub through your last video again and looking forward to the next so I can see how to run the Starlink router from DC as well. Would love to run that rather than a DC router for the sake of simplicity.
I have the bell on but have to think 2 things are happening. Not as feasible 1, I'm not getting notified when new videos come out. 2. More likely, I have a a lot of notifications and if your videos are scheduled to drop when many others do I most likely miss it. But it will pop up again like now so I can watch. I'll take a positive from this and say now I can binge watch as I work through some bugs in my daughter's website/store. Some info is way above my tech pay grade.
Absolutely love your flat-mount and Dishy Dualie DC videos, they gave me the confidence to order Starlink, print the mount and order a Dualie power supply (used your code). I'm now at the stage of nervously performing the install, since I'm using the Dualie DC I'll terminate into the power supply using the recommended T-568B pinout. Would you recommend that at the Dishy's coupler end that there is any logic in using the X-swapped pinout you suggested in the flat-mount video or should we just use T-568B on the coupler when pairing the flat-mount with the Dualie DC power supply? Keep up the great work, I'll be watching more of your adventures. 👍
This is really really cool running the star links standard system off my solar battery bank was killing my battery back in four hours of course the built-in inverter is inefficient
An excellent video. I have to ask though. How do you get your starlink cable into the vehicle? Is it just through the window or do you have a permanent fixing that you could share the link to? I understand the Starlink cable has to be grounded and I’m struggling to find a suitable permanent point of entry that will allow me to maintain the grounding aspect throughout.
At home, I ordered fiber internet at 1gb for about $79 once my street was wired for fiber optics and on certain machines I’m at about 100M and it’s still very useable compared to spectrum or Comcast whim I’ll never go back to. To have 250m in Ecuador is insane. Worth it.
Fantastic Jason i already purchased my dishy dc!!!! Next video will be perfect to understand why is better to have a different router (the one you have) instead the original starlink… there is any advantage?? Big hug
Hi Jason. Keep up the great work. Can you please confirm that if I use The “Dishy DC” power supply that there are no XSwapped connections anywhere in the system at all? ONLY 568B you haven’t mentioned the connection/joiner at the dish so just want to be sure. Thanks in advance.
Your channel deserve way more subscriptions than 57K.. I was looking for solutions to get stable internet in my 4X4 RV and was deeply digging into 5G/4G LTE's routers specs, eSIM was my only hope to allow me to travel abroad "easily".. Totally skipped Starlink's solution few month ago because it wasn't actually realy suitable for RV. But your precedents videos showed me i was wrong and solutions exist. So... i've subscribed to Starlink (and your channel).. Preorder a DC Dishy board. And my printer is actually finishing the first left corner for my antenna support. Thank's you for your content !
Thank you for sharing this content with us. I just finished my motorhome recently and I have two batteries of 230amps each one. When I plugged my starlink and started using with my 1000W frequency inversor along the day I realize that I would need a solution like this. My batteries was almost discharged at night.
Awesome video! I just watched it and used your link to get the power supply. Thank you! Can't wait to get it now and put it in my Jeep! How has it been holding up until now for you?
Thanks a ton for your videos! Super helpful. I have a question, I have pre-ordered the power supply/Poe injector and have a gen3 dishy on order. The folks at Boondocker have said their device will work with gen3. I saw in your video that you did not need to X-swap the cables for your gen2 dishy. Is the swap taken care of in the boondocker dualie? If so I think that means I will have to cut the cable on my gen3 dishy since I believe Starlink has made it standard (not x-swapped) connection now? Can you clarify? Thanks!
The newest board doesn't fit the box anymore without a bit of adjustments. The rib on the top where the black cans are is in the way now as there is 3 cans instead of just 2 now. All in all, this case looks killer when it's all done!
Due to the small strands of wire, cables are also very prone to failure/burn up when usimg the dish heater. Dish heater is not needed even in northern Canada. We got 10' of snow in 2 days and didh stayed working and was clear by end of second day without heater on
@Everlanders no I know it's not separate but does have separate setting which does cause unit to draw more power and cables burn up. Replaced 13 last winter on ones people have heat option turned on. Those that dint turn it on don't have cable issues m, some through 3 winters so far
I received my power supply, and thank you for the stl's for the case. However the rear case stl has the borders of the solder areas not alinged with the production model I received. I do not know if you have the new layout to publish an updated design, just wanted to pass that on, so you are aware.
It’s possible that this is the best thing i have seen in 3 years…. And nice work on the case design! That definitely took some time!! I only make simple things to print or download because I don’t have your skills!
Bonjour Everlanders, If I understood correctly this Canadian card replaces the Tycon PoE Injector systems POE-INJ-1000-WT and the XWST DC 12V voltage converter. Thanks for all the links and 3D plans. I haven't bought the STARLINK yet, it shouldn't take long. We are preparing our RV and expect to go to the USA next year when we retire.
Thank you for the video. I am a novice on StarLink and just purchased the marine version for my sailboat. I would like to get the 12v system you have designed but do not have 3D printing capability. Do you produce this component package for sale ?
I don't sell anything... just a lowly UA-camr... You can buy the board itself from the link in the description, and he also sells aluminum cases separately if you like... If you want a plastic 3D printed one, they're about 19$ to have printed at places like Pcbway.com or any number of online service providers. Links to the 3D files are also in the description.
I was literally about to put together a dyi thing myself than watched this video and just ordered the all in one. I will 3d print your design, that thing looks awesome.
Speeds in our RV traveling accross the usa are much slower, we rarely get over 40 or 50 unless we are in a much less congested area. Our starlink has been run over by fellow rvers 3 times, when it happens the motors are crushed and i had to manually point it at the northern sky until i got a replacement from starlink. I am getting ready to hard wire cables with connectors into the rv to make set up and tear down quicker. We mount our dish on several different ways depending on the campground, sometimes on our 25 foot pole, sometimes the ground, sometimes on the roof, sometimes on a custom 5 foot pole that i made custom 3d printed mounts for.(this keeps people from running it over). We have to deal with a lot of tree obstructions in campgrounds, a few times we were completely obstructed like in florida, Wyoming and Michigan. Larry
Now we just need the same curcuit board with a Dishy direct plug. I mean you can get the YAOSHENG Dishy Cable adapter for plug'n play - but it would be really neat to have it all in one.
@@Everlanders I understand the point, when you dish is fixed mounted. But I'm traveling where there are lots of trees. I have to move dishy around with the long cable. Looking for a cleaner setup and not maximum power efficiency ;) and as you experienced RJ45 crimps can go bad. Especially those DIY.
Hello, thank you for a great video do I need any specific Rj45 cat6 connectors? How about if I decide to use the dish at home during winter, can I use a Rj45 cat6 coupler , to go back to the initial setup with its own router? Thank you very much and cheers from Toronto

Thank you so much for your excellent video's, answering questions and your perfect 3D models. Starting my mods of both the flat mount and the Dishy DC soon 😅 but confident with your instructions 😊
Awesome, thank you!
Oh my gosh, you are brilliant! I just got an RV and really want to use my Starlink with it, but hate carrying around the dish on the trip. I am going to study all your videos before I attempt this. Thank you!!
That dystopian robot hand freaks me out every time..... Great video!
Perfect!
You said in this video that the Mofi 5500 doesnt support PoE, yet i called the manufacturer and was advised that it does support being powered by PoE meaning that we should be able to power it without separate DC input
The handwritten subtitles are much appreciated.
A just what i needed to work out how it set up my dishy , couldn't see any 3d printer files to the dishy enclosure ? are they listed on here?
that for your fantastic and infprmative video
Cheers David
Yes, everything is in the description...
Really enjoying your mod series on the starlink! Thank you
Fantastic video.
Unappreciated hero! Thank you for your service battling wildfires
@@harmanaulakh7529 thanks for the comment. Very rewarding work.
This is pure gold!! I have just ordered a starlink roam and started looking into beat ways of mounting it flat. A ton of good info, thanks a lot! I will be following those for sure.
😂😅
Dude you are amazing, thank you for this!! I know how much work goes into this!!
I’m so glad I found your channel
Loved the video! Excellent work! Keep it up 😊
Any help getting an update on order 1805 please? Ordered in March. Thanks!
It's queued up to go out in the next batch next week, depending on the Burn-In Testing Yield. Otherwise it will ship the week following.
@@Everlanders Thanks!
Yup, Can Confirm! 😁
I know you’re preaching to the RVers, but we boat people are also part of the choir. Appreciate it! Gonna have to scrub through your last video again and looking forward to the next so I can see how to run the Starlink router from DC as well. Would love to run that rather than a DC router for the sake of simplicity.
Interested as well.
Interesting!
No. Standard T568b everywhere... The swap is handed by the Dishy DC power supply.
I’m building a van right now and JUST got to the electrical stuff. Perfect timing for this! Already did a preorder.
Big hug
For you, probably not.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and wit. If ever in Austin and want to share a drink with displaced Canadians, let me know.
Nice, but we're in Perú and heading south for the foreseeable future. 👍
THAMKS! Just placed my order. Looks like I’ll have to wait till sometime after Sep 25th for the next build series.
It's currently more like 2.5 months out...
@@Everlanders 🥺😭
I love the handwritten subtitles and translations!
Hi Jason. Keep up the great work. Can you please confirm that if I use The “Dishy DC” power supply that there are no XSwapped connections anywhere in the system at all? ONLY 568B you haven’t mentioned the connection/joiner at the dish so just want to be sure. Thanks in advance.
Hereby confirmed. All T568B.
Hello, thank you very much for the video, very productive, you mention the PoE which is the maximum distance supported by the UTP cable
Amazing!
You are the best. Thanks for all the help and explanation
This is so smooth. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for continuing to help the community. (Comment submitted to please the algorithm gods.)
Haven't turned it off in years... Still going strong 💪
Thanks!
Great Video. Thank you for your time and sharing information with the comunity
No problem 👍
The newest board doesn't fit the box anymore without a bit of adjustments. The rib on the top where the black cans are is in the way now as there is 3 cans instead of just 2 now. All in all, this case looks killer when it's all done!
You printed the wrong case, rev1.5 fits the capacitors just fine.
@@Everlanders ahhhh crap I didn't catch that one. Ok off to print the other one
@@Everlanders is that the 1.4 for the front and 1.5 for the back you mean?
Yes
@@Everlanders ok sorry figured this out now. Totally different area to get the latest files. Thanks!
Can you redesign the CAD file to include a plexiglass cover? Some are posting that their dish got damage by hail. Thanks.
No.
@@Everlanders You have patience that is for sure. I wonder why they are not asking you to come and wipe thier backside for them too ?
Im from Perú, and I agree with people when say u are GOD!! Great video, thanks for share 🙌🏽
We're in Perú now! Cajamarca!
Due to the small strands of wire, cables are also very prone to failure/burn up when usimg the dish heater. Dish heater is not needed even in northern Canada. We got 10' of snow in 2 days and didh stayed working and was clear by end of second day without heater on
You believe there is a separate heater? 🤣🤣🤣
The heat is an artifact of the phased array antenna being pushed out of phase...
Yes, I have a new file for Rev 1.5 boards. I'll try and post it soon.

@@Everlanders You sir, are a steely eyed space internet man. Thank you!
Correct, This unit does it all!!!
@@Everlanders Merci
Thank you for the video. I am a novice on StarLink and just purchased the marine version for my sailboat. I would like to get the 12v system you have designed but do not have 3D printing capability. Do you produce this component package for sale ?
I don't sell anything... just a lowly UA-camr... You can buy the board itself from the link in the description, and he also sells aluminum cases separately if you like... If you want a plastic 3D printed one, they're about 19$ to have printed at places like Pcbway.com or any number of online service providers. Links to the 3D files are also in the description.
I ordered a dc converter. Thank you for sharing. I also ordered a dishy thin mount, I don’t have a 3D printer.
That is awesome!
Freedom Units!? I love it! 🤩 Outstanding video. Really appreciate the transparency!
I was literally about to put together a dyi thing myself than watched this video and just ordered the all in one. I will 3d print your design, that thing looks awesome.
That is awesome!
Buying one just right now. Thank you for the tips. Hugs from Brazil
Larry
12:37 i thought i was the only full time RVer that traveled with a 3d printer and design and print every day for Etsy. Larry
Yup, it's not intended for dense usage...
Thank you , only just found you but great, helpful vids
Now we just need the same curcuit board with a Dishy direct plug. I mean you can get the YAOSHENG Dishy Cable adapter for plug'n play - but it would be really neat to have it all in one.
Bahhh, It's best to cut the cord and save the 10 watts lost to the cable.
I often pull the dish down and put it out with a clear shot of the sky... Just need a standard extension...
Hello, thank you for a great video
do I need any specific Rj45 cat6 connectors?
How about if I decide to use the dish at home during winter, can I use a Rj45 cat6 coupler , to go back to the initial setup with its own router? Thank you very much and cheers from Toronto
Any Shielded CAT6 Ends will be fine.
