The City of Brass has always been fuel for the fire of my imagination, dangerous, incredibly hot and inaccessible to most without magical aid. Thank you for another impressive video.
Now every time I tap a City of Brass in MTG, I'll picture the 1 damage I take as an Efreeti guard slapping me for stealing that mana from a market stall. "Riffraff! Street rat!"
In regards to portals to the City of Brass, would absolutely love to see a video about the Host Tower of the Arcane and the Arcane Brotherhood. Know you touched lightly on them in the Luskan episode.
Frog God games recently did an adventure fully set in the city of brass. I did artwork for it and its got some cool stuff in it. I know its not official DnD related but its pretty awesome!
There are professional plansr travel escorts that can assist in surviving alien environments. Some lead expeditions for cash, some want a heavier toll.
Hey Wallace, You're really kewl. I like you and you're totally awesome and definitely NOT completely useless. Hey, could you come out to this random part of the woods for no reason in particular? It is totally not a trap... Signed, Your secret admirer
That one was really short but as a college student studying game art, I know how difficult and time consuming it Is to make videos like this so. You did a really good job.
The best source material I know for the city of brass is the Frog God adventure of the same name, it’s maps the entire city has adventures for level 1-20 characters, original spells and items it’s pretty awesome
The cover of the first edition DMG featured the City of Brass. Of course, a whippersnapper like you wouldn't know that. Now please excuse me, I have to go yell at some kids to get off my lawn.
It showed an efreet, but indoor where it cannot be certain of the location. The lack of raging fire and light makes me think it may not be the fabled city.
@brianmorris364 That part is on the rear cover. Here's the description of the full cover, from page 2. Cover: The book cover painting shows an encounter between three adventurers and an efreet on the Elemental Plane of Fire. The fabled City of Brass can be seen floating over a flame-swept sea of oil.
@@tomkerruish2982 you are correct. My memory failed me I had to go dig out my hardcover 1e copy lol it's heck getting old. Been playing d and d for over 40 years now.

Hey Jorphdan, You mention in this video that the main way to get to the City of Brass is via "teleportation circle". TPC 5e only allows for movement on the same plane of existence. I think that you meant that characters could use the spell Plane Shift to access a teleportation circle using its sigil.
I ran a game where the players had to go to go the the City of Brass. I didn't provide the transport, they had to work that out for them selves. It was fun for me to react to their ideas instead of the other way around.
I feel like these elemental cities are super super late game ideas but I never have been in a party or good long term gams past 12th lvl, one day a visit to the planes will occur...one day, deal with shady Efreeti 😢
OMG thankyou jorphan. Ive been searching and searching for info on the city for ages. My players are gearing to go there but i could never find the source book where the map image came from. Secrets of the lamp seems like what im looking for. You come across any other books that helped you in your video (ive read or own the various planar manuals from 3rd/4th already)

Yup, the Planescape city is pronounced with a hard g. If you're familiar with the show Critical Role, the DM being more used to the Planescape pronunciation is why he used to mispronounce "sigil" all the time in the beginning.
So you need like three spells on you, and they probably have to be renewed constantly? huh like how many rounds do you think each one of those is (spell length) I don't play D&D but I really enjoy the lore like I can remember I had the player's handbook the dungeon Master's guide the monster manual in my bathroom for years (didnt play) and that's thats all I would read. that's why I love AJ videos man and I appreciate it dude that you are answering my question.
I wonder, why is the City of Brass so Iconic compared to the major Genie Cities? The Plane of Fire feels synonymous with the City of Brass in a way that the City of Jewels and Citadel of Ten Thousand Pearls, and Aaqa aren't.
Ricardo Saltos But is the City of Brass iconic because it's mentioned in Plane Shift's description, or is it mentioned in Plane Shift's description because it's iconic?
Yes, please do all the elemental cities!
I really hope he does! I've been using so much from his elemental plane based videos in my current campaign lol.
Agreed. I love these lore videos.

what the adventure called I love to check it out
@@ParsonsMAD It's called simply _City of Brass,_ for Sword and Sorcery, by Necromancer Games (the same as Frog God Games). It's pretty comprehensive.

Was literally JUST needing this video.
another killer video! We are playing in the City of Brass right now so it was good to get a briefing!
In the Pathfinder adventure path, Legacy of Fire, one of the six modules takes place in the City of Brass.
If players can teleport there, this makes for a nice detour that gives the adventure the feel of high fantasy
Great video, Would love to see one on Wallace the Hero of Parnast!

The City of Brass is such an interesting location! Thanks for this video. It'll come in handy later if ever the party I DM for decides to go there.

Cool. Lore of my native city!
Really enjoyed this! Keep up the good work!!!
Frog God Games released an entire adventure path centered around the City of Brass that has lots of lore that I’d recommend looking into
When the wizard finds a book for Lore - City of Brass, I'll just give him the link to this publication.

I put all the books I used in the references section of the description. There should be links to them too!
The City of Brass is awesome - always wanted to know what the inspiration of it was though, if there was any.
it was one of the stories in One Thousand and One Arabian Nights. Pulled into D&D from mythology :)
"Siggle" *shudders*

Hi there. Where did you get that map for The City of Brass ?
google I bet you can find it :)
Got a question: is the a plan that is easier to create magical items.
City of brass!!!!
is the grand sultan thee kind of genie who is in the 1% of each type of genie that is powerfull enough to grant 3 wishes?
That's so useful
So Texans should have no problem here.
I love it jorph
Do humans need some spell or item to shop or. Exist there?
No I think the main Efreeti's magic keeps the city warm but tolerable

Frog God Games just released their module. I highly suggest you check it out!
I swore this was put up before...
memory might be bad, I may have briefly covered the city in some of my planar videos. But here it is in a singular video :D
I have no gaming group :( but awesome as always
Kossuth was not the lord of the Fire Plane?
Lord of the Fire Plane and ruler of the City of Brass are two different things.
I knew San Francisco had to be part of the plane of fire
I wonder how fire exists there without oxygen.
It doesn't. There is oxygen just not suitable for breathing.
Hey this is off topic but today was my birthday and nobody remembered so thanks for make this video this day dont know why but makes me feel better
Happy Birthday :)
At a quick glance on my phone thought it said " city of ass"
Looking for that portal now....
Very humorous to me that you and AJ Pickett seem to end up on similar subjects around the same timeframe lately.
We've got synergy!
I guess the City of Ass didn't last long.
Looking at this for...reasons. They may or may not have to do with the new episode of critical role...
