      It’s actually “down to brass tacks”, likely because brass headed tacks were used to measure out lengths of fabric, rope, twine, etc, on the counter of hardware stores. Getting down to brass tacks was therefore to get to the conclusion of a matter, as one would when making a purchase at these stores.

    • @alexmag342
      @alexmag342 3 роки тому +18

      @@ImAlexhearmemehYT no it wasn't important to its identity at all, Rome identity stems from long before the republic, especially from their warrior culture which they remained always, while the republic was despised by all but the corrupt senators as nothing but inneficient and corrupt bureaucratic mess which only succeeded due to dictators law, without dictators commanding the army in times of need it would have fallen to its enemies due to the senates sheer incompetence.
      And the senators became meaningless and powerless p@rasites after Caesars nephew Augustus created the Empire, their titles being honorific at best.

    I once had a fun role playing idea. If a PC in particular learns to cast Wish, then you’ll find yourself being hunted by a lot of various genies (mostly Efreeti and Dao) who plan to enslave you for your power because them having a slave who can cast wish is just another way for them to increase their reputation, even forcing you to make wishes for them that they couldn’t otherwise make for themselves.
    In other words, a slave who can cast Wish for their genie master is high quality “merchandise.”

    I'm glad you're making this planar series. It will be great referrence material for me, as I recently had an idea for a campaign based on Risk of Rain that my group has expressed interest in, and I plan to justify the setting as a demiplane microcosm of the Planes in the Great Wheel, as well as a few additions that are there in some versions but not the current versions, primarily the Elemental Chaos and the quasielemental planes that exist between the elemental planes and the energy planes.
    That said, I noticed you have an older video covering the parallel plane: the Shadowfell, but you don't have a video for its counterpart, the Feywild. I assume that means the Feywild will be covered at some point along with all these other planes.

    I’m so getting Stibbles’ Codex! One of my players wanted to shift an enemy wolf’s loyalty after killing his former master and I had to make something up that I don’t think I really remember. It would be great to have actual rules for taming, if only for the consistency.
    Also, I want an actual otter stat block; as far as I can tell, no official source has one. I love that they made it intelligent enough to have an alignment!

      I have a sorcerer who has been using a cold elemental fireball (sometimes maximized, hoping to level enough to quicken). He's been firing them off like a semi-automatic in most fights there. The cold vulnerabilities are a godsend.
      The sorcerer's ego was already big before. :/

      Question, frostbrand creates a 30ft radius of cold around the user, does that gave an affect on the hostile environment of the fire plane in general?

      Probably most humanoid looking races have similar functioning "equipment", a lot of them can mix and produce off-spring, unless your an aberration I guess, mindflayers just stick a tadpole in you. Also giants would probably still be death by snu snu...

      @@Bruced82 this may have changed but I'm almost positive that (as of 3.5e anyway) efreitii didn't reproduce in the conventional way, if that's still true then it does seem a little odd for them to have the related anatomy...

    I looked, but may of missed it, but would enjoy a video on Tu'narath. Really like the videos describing and fleshing out the cities of the multiverse. I would also like to know the atmosphere in the cities of Hell. What are they like? Empty buildings used as lairs, or similar to the prime with just a devil like air. i think most imagine them either empty or a mirror to ours. It's hard to picture alien cities for the only reference point we have is our own. I picture cities in the Abyss made of flesh, and bone, but in the end, what separates it from our own metropolises...other than the demons, that is?

    Many people don't realize that a Eunuch usually only had the berries taken and not the twig. In fact, if the eunuch was castrated as an adult, many of the Harim would utilize the Mamluk because they would never get caught because of pregnancy and the eunuch would stay hard much longer to pleasure them.

    Since Brass is so important you'd think that there would be a higher puss towards mining Zinc instead of Tin, since Tin is used to make Bronze. This makes me think that a great way to insult an Efreeti is to refer to their capital as the City of Copper Alloys.
    Also I'd say that the video was not long enough. Like I'd like to know why the Djinn are constantly invading.
