I might get this for my parents, they have an old Sanyo flat screen that neverd gave out. They don't have any streaming devices. I can't game when they want me to play a movie for them. I was interested on how it works with cable boxes plugged in since they still watch cable TV. Good review though. I just need to wait for a sale.
Idk why you need USB-C when USB-A is more common, convenient, and accessible. This disgusts me every time I see people bring up stuff like this in their tech videos.
The presence of USB-A is the issue in technology released in the last few years, there's no common standard. It's how manufacturers of monitors kept VGA ports, it's an old standard. USB-C is slowly becoming the main standard, most notably on Android devices, headphones, Macs, etc. Keeping USB-A around makes no sense on devices like the fire tv, it's just delaying the new common standard.
Excellent overview! Almost everything I was hoping to to know about it.
