I don't see much of an enhanced experience difference with this new device but I will say for those who don't have a fire Amazon cube and since this is the latest I would say get this one, but I will stick with the ones that I have already, I'm pretty much getting everything already.
Yea, the Fire TV experience is going to be the same across all devices, but It has an handful of hardware improvements that i like. - First off it looks WAY better - Sounds better (don't know if that really matters for this device) - Better mics (which is important for me) But yea, if you're happy with the one you have then no need to upgrade. :)
@@SteveDOES I have a Wi-Fi 6 modem and router 1 GB internet service maybe that's why I'm not buying into the idea with this new fire Cube even if it looks a little better I don't even look at the five cube it is in the back of my TV
I am interested in the cube. How long does it take to turn on the device? Meaning, what is the time from when the on button is pressed till the device is fully on and ready to be used.
TECH ISSUE: Excellent video! I got my Alexa Cube to pair up with my sound system, but for the TV she does not answer me through the CUBE, she answers me through the TV speakers. I want her to answer me always through the CUBE. What am I doing wrong? I have an Alexa Fire TV by Omni. Omni was not on the TV pairing selection, so I chose Fire TV when I paired it up to my TV. Thank you for your help!
I’d like to upgrade the two I have for the speed increase and moreso the USB addition and Ethernet addition but theyre way overpriced and Black Friday doesnt look like its reducing them too much either, Will remain happy enough with my current ones until I can get a bargain price.
Hey Steve, Just want to say I really dig all your content, very informative, especially all the Amazon tech videos. I was wonder if you might be able to help me with something? I got the Fire Stick 4K Max last year, and it’s great, but I just started to notice that nothing is playing in 4K. When I watch a 4K movie on Prime Video, it just stays in 1080p. I’ve checked everything to make sure I have the right settings on, I have last years LG C2 OLED, my internet is fast enough to stream content in 4K, and I just don’t know why I can’t watch movies/shows in 4K. Anyway, I hope you can help when you get the chance. Thanks!
Steve, love you review of the new cube! I have a dish receiver, if I take the HDMI from the tv & plug it in right the HDMI in, can the remote then control the dish receiver? I’m guessing not. How then do you change from content from the dish output, back to the cube output, since there both on the same HDMI out? Thanks!
Here is what i found on Amazon... Connect a compatible cable or satellite box to the HDMI input on Fire TV Cube to control live TV with Alexa or the included Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote. Select cable/satellite boxes support this functionality, which includes: Altice Optimum/Suddenlink AT&T DirecTV AT&T Uverse CenturyLink, Inc. Comcast Xfinity Charter Spectrum Cox Dish Network Frontier GCI Communication Mediacom Verizon Fios
@@Thorpeman Amazon doesnt deliver all of their Echo products to Sweden. Why they will not sell their full range of products here I have no idea. At first, when they started their swedish website a year ago you could’nt buy anything from the Echo series at all. You can buy from the german amazon site and use a service that acts like a postbox and then redirect the delivery to any adres you wish, if your willing to pay for it…
Your the first person I've ever seen use a Firecube and say "Alexa, switch to HDMI 1" Under equipment control you can assign all your devices to each HDMI port... so if you hook up your Playstation to HDMI 1 and your Blu-Ray to HDMI 2, you simply say "Alexa, switch to Playstation" or "Blu-Ray" and it will switch to the appropriate device. I've never heard of anyone actually calling out an HDMI channel on a Firecube.
It Sucks that it's only USB 2.0 and 10/100Mbps Ethernet. Why are they so damn Cheap? USB 2.0 is 24 years old, Nobody uses USB 2 anymore and everyone is using USB 3 which came out in 2008, that's 15 years ago so it's not like it's something brand new and still a high priced luxury. Adding USB 3 and 10/100Mbps Ethernet is not going to break the bank of Amazon or increase the selling cost to a price that is not affordable to the average consumer on a budget so it won't make it so Amazon can't compete price wise with it's competitors like apple Roku and Google.

thanks for the review. Can you consider testing posting a video testing the upscaling technology and maybe post side by side comparison?
Do you have a video on how to set up a video call? Or attaching webcame camera to it

Thanks for the video. Anything in the pipeline for the ring pro cameras? Waiting to see how their still-in-1080p pro cam in 2022 pans out..
Does the channel up and down button controls the TV like the Volume or Power Button?
Can the cube play movies loaded on a USB drive? If so, what is that experience like?
Yes, it can, but i haven't tested this feature to know what the experience is like.
Can you do picture in picture with this device? For example can I be watching a show and also have a Wyze cam feed up in the corner somewhere?
Yes you can
Yes you can.
Does it upscale content to 4k?
Hi I've had 3 3rd gen 4k cubes now and none seem to have the 3 squares next to the cog any ideas ? Cheers
Hi can I sync this in with my two Echo 5th Gen Dots which I use as Right and Left Speakers? Like putting the cube in the middle kind of thing.

The FireCube as been able to do that for a while.

Please show yourself hooking up the device. Mine gives me a red light all the time no matter what I do.
