You handle your hair so well. Your dryer tip stood out to me. That is the main difference between how my stylist does my silk press before my blowdry. And wow you trim so well!
This hair typing chart is causing too much confusion. She has beautiful voluminous, thick, long coily hair. People need come way from this hair typing chart. How did you describe your coily or curly hair before this hair chart?
Your hair looks so beautiful and healthy. I have been following you for a while and seeing this gives me a lot of inspiration and confidence. I never done a silk press before and I have been natural for almost 8 years.
i think getting the hair dry with the least amount. ofproduct and being able to keep moisture in the hair is how you have a great silk press. My best silk press is barely any product (or just the color wow) on rollerset hair...and then i apply a spray heat protectant to silk out the roots. blow drying i dont get consistent results. Deffff consider it. aprotective style when done correctly. i am happy the girlies arent anti straight hair anymore...its growing season. :)
I try to work with the puffy roots because its inevitable. Try adding curls and wear it as if it was roller set or Flexi rod set on straight hair, if you want stretch the press longer.
So good - hair not dry - my salon would sit me under a hood dryer after the blow dry. I’ll start this at home. - maybe my hair will last longer :) goals thank you great tips !
Looks so good! I'm so tempted to try now!! Any time I have a silk press they just do not last, the wind is getting them or I sweat from exercise. Gotta try with the right prep I guess.
You convinced me to get the tymo straightening comb and I pressed my own hair for the first time since middle school. I’m two weeks in, my scalp hates me so it’s time to wash it out. lol I didn’t realize how much trauma I had from the oily stiff straight attempts I made from back then. The way I was praying with every pass of the tymo comb. I’m excited to try again next month with these tips. Can you show us how you curl your hair? That’s the part that got me. The curls weren’t consistent. Thanks you! And wow your hair grew so much!
I’m in awe at how well you manage all that Beautiful hair❤ Amazing video!! Love your silk press technique and I’m relaxed!! Definitely trying the under dryer tip🤌🏾
I appreciate the tip about sitting under the dryer!!! I can’t wait to try it. I love using heat on my hair too. I stay away from flat irons that even go up to 450… trauma lol 😂 My flat iron goes up to 430 and that is the perfect temp for my day one flat iron. If I do any touch ups or want to create curls, I lower it to like 350.
Beautifull, I have these products, when I take them to the salon they tell they don't work😔.. but now I know. Can you make a follow up video when you ready to curl it? With or without heat and how you sleep with it?
Im glad I came acetone your channel. Beautiful healthy long thick hair ♥️. I love the DE line too and color wow. I love how simply you shared your knowledge. I have been wondering why the day after looks better. NOW I know. Thank you so much. Oh the cool sensation fooled me 😂 now I know better.
I really love your hair and your silk press looks amazing! thank you for the tips! I was curious to know, what heat setting you use when under the hooded dryer?
Your hair looks so thick and healthy! Question- I just want to be sure I heard this correctly- you don't wash your hair for 4-6 weeks when you silk press it, correct? How do you maintain it when it gets greasy? What styles do you wear when your silk press is nearing the end?
This was an outstanding tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. I wonder which state do you reside in because 4-6 weeks is by far the longest I heard a silk press having longevity. I'm asking this prematurely, but do I have a care routine video for maintaining your silk press?
If you want to maintain your curl pattern and wear wash n gos, less straightening is better. But if done correctly you can enjoy a couple silk presses a year. Last year I think I did about 5, and the year before 6. I haven't lost my curls but I don't think they are as tight in some areas. I would still consider my hair to be healthy. I don't wear wash n gos and I have committed to heat training so this doesn't bother me.
Nice great video. It's funny I blow dry my hair and wait the next day to flat iron it but I was doing it to protect my hair I didn't realize better results can come from it as well
I am not sure if went too fast because my "press" was not as silky as yours. I did use 380F for mine[so this is prob the reason]. Could you tell me how long did it take you in real time to apply the heat to all sections of your head. Thank you so much! Newly subbed! :)
Trying to master this. I am always having issues with my crown area and getting it straight. I have the rev air but doesn’t do well on roots i feel like
thank you for this! I bought the color wow dream coat and it says Not to use it with other products. Should I still do this? Or can I use one or two more products
I do. For me it's inevitable that my roots are going to sweat out, so I try to work with it as the weeks go by. After 1-2 weeks I add curls and pin curl/rollers which is easier to workout with then a wrap to me. And even though my roots are puffier it looks like volume with curls as oppose to if I tried to keep it pin straight.
technically the black top is just extra strength. So definitely choose the one that fits your needs best. And you can use it alone if you like but it's just a recommendation. If less product works best for you definitely only use one leave in. thanks for watching!
You handle your hair so well. Your dryer tip stood out to me. That is the main difference between how my stylist does my silk press before my blowdry. And wow you trim so well!

I follow a lot of 4c hair channels and yours is by far my favorite. This is so beautiful and your hair is so healthy!
She ain’t 4c
@@cat.oii23I was abt to say the same thing
@@cat.oii23💀
Why you specifically say 4c.. why not say type 4 or just say natural channels. Her hair is gorgeous and not 4c

@@BlakeJael i wouldn’t even bother if i could blow out and silk press.
BLAAAAAAKEEEE! Your hair has definitely grown. I remember when your hair was colored! Super pretty and very healthy!
Your hair is gorgeous & super healthy😍. I wish I could wear a silk press this long but after a few workouts with sweaty scalp, my roots are done!
I try to work with the puffy roots because its inevitable. Try adding curls and wear it as if it was roller set or Flexi rod set on straight hair, if you want stretch the press longer.

Your hair 😍😍😍 What products do you use on your hair to moisturize it when you’re stretching a silk press?
If I'm adding curls i'll use a little more heat protectant but that's about it.
New follower. Thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out what I’ve been doing wrong forever! Can’t wait to try all your tips. Thank you ❤
Came out great! I’m thinking about heat training my hair. How often do you do this?

Do you put in a leave-in conditioner before drying it? I've seen some people do that.
You can trying bristle brush for chase method next time.
that's a good tip too! I do prefer a comb for myself.
@@BlakeJael you can trying it,can you show bristle brush next time you straightening your hair?
Beautiful! You mentioned you’re able to keep your silk press for a while. What’s the name of the product you use to keep it fresh?
This was an outstanding tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. I wonder which state do you reside in because 4-6 weeks is by far the longest I heard a silk press having longevity. I'm asking this prematurely, but do I have a care routine video for maintaining your silk press?
Texas!
My hair is about that length so i was really happy with the results thankyou so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Looks great!! Makes sense that the hair has to be 100% dry.
How often can you do a silk press in a year? And does it damage your hair in a long term?

Nice great video. It's funny I blow dry my hair and wait the next day to flat iron it but I was doing it to protect my hair I didn't realize better results can come from it as well
How do you sleep with your blowout if you wait the next day to press
@mellymel2222 I blow dry my hair first then I straighten it or I sit under the dryer basically I do my steps in days
I am not sure if went too fast because my "press" was not as silky as yours. I did use 380F for mine[so this is prob the reason]. Could you tell me how long did it take you in real time to apply the heat to all sections of your head. Thank you so much! Newly subbed! :)
about an hour. thank you!
Yes I wait to next day to silk press after blow-drying hair beautiful. But yes sitting under the dryer first works too. I also do that.

do you have any go-to styles for when your silk press starts to get old?
after one or two weeks I add curls. I do prefer to wear my hair down but sometimes I'll do a slick bun, or a ponytail with clip ins.
@@BlakeJael thanks!!🫶🏼
You have similar to mine but yours is thicker and more course, have you found some for shrinkage?
Great job! Very helpful!
Thank you your hair is gorgeous ❤
So that why my hair revert the next day 🤔 its not complete dry. You're the first person that explains and it make sense 😅
The glasses are so cute where are they frommmm
Alllll that hair yasssssss❤
Another thing I noticed she did was straighten in small sections and not use alot of product
yep, it takes some time but its worth it 💗
Will your hair return to it original texture (afro) after blow-drying?
Please do a weekly hair care routine 🥹

Do you work out at all? If so, how do you maintain your silk press during that time?
