Pretty sure PCI is the bar that I showed up to on a random weekday at 11am and found a cohort of 40 to 60 year old dudes to play pickup with. They were all drinking and carrying on in between pick up games. Made me wish I lived there :D. Very welcoming gang :)
Bear claw method when hitting. What if you don't jump very high and the net is higher than you, you can't hit the top of the ball cause it'll hit the net? Can you hit lower part of the ball and still place it?
It's not easy actually there is only a period of second to exactly create force with the ball and ur hand ..sit on ur bed toss ball a practice contact against thick blankets do it everyday it's very fast way to improve
Hey guys this video is what im looking for ty! But one question, you seem to have a pretty hard clawing hand when contacting. Watching pro volleyball players contact (indoor) they do have a very loosen hand and wrist and still hit the ball with top speed. Is there a right or wrong here or just preference?
Thanks for watching! Keep in mind that a lot of coach feedback ESPECIALLY in private lessons is designed to create the outcome a coach wants to see. So these PL videos might be great for some but not necessarily useful for others. This feedback might’ve been 1 way for Chad to help Richard create a better contact and he might go say many different things to a different athlete. The bear claw might help Richard get the feel for a while and then he would slowly try to loosen up while keeping the same contact. You are correct in that in a lot of swings you want a loose hand and wrist, but not all. If you’re going for max power, a loosen complex is best put first your body should know what a great consistent hit feels like on your hand. In short, a good coach figures out where an athlete is in the maze and has to get him to the cheese. So his directions might be different for every athlete.

The 🐻 bear claw concept was bloody brilliant! I dig how Chaddy D. used baseball/golf as an example in hitting the ball’s sweet spot.
Such a good video. Great explanations and sound effects! 😄
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was helpful.. just watching the hitting and coaching over and over helped me learn what I needed. Thanks!
Thank you man! It was awesome 😄
I like this sound approach to know if the contact was done right. Thanks

Thanks!! Super helpful. Have to sub right away 😂
Now I feel like I just met a celebrity. Hi Richard! LOL
Good stuff. Thanks for the pointers, Better at Beach! :)
Any time!
If I use my whole hand it absorbs the hit and slows the ball down compared to when I just use the palm or heel
Yea same with me

Very good. Beachvolleyboll is perfect training. But I am not so good to jump and smash the ball.

now he needs to learn to jump
PCI!
Should we hit the ball with power of free palm or tight palm?🤔
No offense Richard, but those girls behind you are hitting better. Just joking, but also kind of serious.
so what?! these girls have probably been playing longer than him
