I lost my Mom recently and prayed if she could send me some kind of sign the next day that she could still hear me. I woke up to this beautiful song after mid-night, I immediately begin to sob. My Moms name is Ruby, this wasn’t a random coincidence, she can still hear me and the message weaved in your lyrics is profoundly touching and lovely.....put down your mind, light up and shine...she wants me to leave the painful past and live. Ruby is finally happy and free! Thank you!!
I had to laugh at the fact that even with the clip mentioning "Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires and members of My Morning Jacket" as part of the backup band for this performance I immediately tuned all of them out and was like...HOLY S**T WILL JOHNSON IS F**KING PLAYING DRUMS AGAIN haha
Love this song and the video that your brother made from your childhood pics...a classic. So special to see you perform with Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires!
Strands of Oaks .. damn I remember the good old days of seeing him play in Scranton in the late 90s at small Shows with Lou from Lewis And Clark. Glad to see kept doing music.. if my memory is still good, I believe he moved to Philly.
@@marcschmitz2318 He played drums for The Monsters Of Folk as well. He's a good drummer! His songwriting is sublime...and he's got an incredible voice! Extremely haunting!
Sorry. No i meant how does colbert negate mentioning Will. Everything the man touches is gold! Centro-matic, south san gabriel. monsters of folk, new multitudes, and his solo albums are fantasic.
Unfortunately, really nothing new here to see (hear). Clearly competent musicians... Although, I found myself captivated by the lovely woman playing the Violin (fiddle). HUMnah!

Just an incredible story you shared, and sorry for your loss.

That was exactly my thought! Will is amazing...
such a cool and great talent. what a damn "backing band."
This would be a great tour with will, Jason and tim
Sounding great! Good to hear Timothy with all the special guests bringing their own style to his song!
Great performance. Hard to go wrong with Jason and Amanda backing you up!

That Will Johnson harmony, though!
Im so proud of you my nephew. It was great and you looked awesome. Congrats

Always find myself coming back to this video.
And Will Johnson!
Who ever says their music is generic, listen to their KEXP opening concert :)
LSSC has really made some great musical selections. I really appreciate how they’re mixing it up.
Will Johnson on drums!
Great song, awesome performance. Very excited for the full album.
When he starts singing sounds like “Candida” Tony Orlando and Dawn
get em Tim
Those are Jason's shredding sneakers :)
Will Johnson!
Man how do you negate mentioning one of the best songwriters of the last 20 years playing drums!!!?
@@marcschmitz2318 Did I do something wrong? I've been a Will Johnson fan since the late 90s. He's a saint in my book!

@@marcschmitz2318 Haha. I hear you! It definitely should be mentioned! Nice to see some love for Will!
just waiting for the day this show has Lucero on too play just one of their gems.
That would be so glorious. Too many good tunes to pick from.
Catch them live if you can.
I got the privilege to see Jason Isbell when he came to El Dorado, Arkansas last may
that was the longest performance intro since naming all the members of the flaming lips...
well done !!!!!
Well this is an interesting rabbit hole to go down.
Is Will Johnson in My Morning Jacket now?
That's what im trying to figure out?
No. Think he just got left out of the intro
Tim!
When will the Late Show have #RailroadEarth on the show? They're from Stillwater, New Jersey and are fuckin' great!
I was wondering what Bray Wyatt was up to these days.
underrated comment.
Yes
Anyone know what shoes Jason Isbell is wearing?
They look like toddler shoes. He must have really small feet. Haha love Isbell but those shoes ....
Lets not gloss over the fact that Jason is playing a 59 Les Paul through I believe a Tone King? Am I the only guitar nerd here?
John Simoson Ed King’s 59 Burst at that, right?
Amanda Shires is gorgeous and very talented, who are these others?
Well she is playing with her husband lol
Like having Elvis Presley in your backing band.....
Wow, I hadn't listened to anything they put out in a few years, and I'm embarrassed by how dull it is. They really went from Pope Kildragon to this?
you're right... should've just kept making the same song over and over again.
Check out the full album, it’s amazing. Give it a chance
This just felt painfully generic.
Let me get this straight: You're the songwriter we've all been waiting for, right?
I write painfully generic music. I recognize my own. Also, I don't need to be Bob Dylan to have an opinion on music.
Your commentary is painfully generic.
It seems my comments are just like my music.
so is your comment

I love trump
0/10 trolling. Not even trying.
I agree, that Tiffany Trump appears to have something of a head on her shoulders even if the rest of her namesake family doesn't.
