There is another race across Russia, going the other direction, slightly over 10.000 km's. The difference is that they go on. Their. Own. W-out ANY assistance whatsoever. A few years ago, 7 started, 2 managed to arrive. Unfortunately I dont know so much more about it apart from that those guys are truly Hardcore! ;) Maybe someone else knows more (a link?) Still deeply impressed by these heroes!
supported? I kinda feel more wow'd by the unsupported evens like the trans-America and India Pacific wheel race, amongst others, where its all on the rider.
My deepest respect to all these racers. But I wonder, does anyone know what long-term, later-in-life effects will manifest in these riders? Seems to me this proves it is possible to create a sporting event that is simply too hard to be viable. Doable? Yes, as we have seen. But viable? That question will be argued, and we won't know until these riders manifest whatever long-term disabilities they might be facing.
I don't think such a gruelling distance suits stage racing especially with only a handful of riders competing. I think solo self supported racing like the IndiPac is more interesting. Its a simplier format and brings cycling back to basics.
It does sound like that but it’s true. Russia really is one of the most beautiful countries. Vast beautiful landscapes from tundra, to deserts, to forests, to plains, to valleys, to mountains, and more. Not to mention a beautiful history of building architecture and art in general. I mean this probably sounds like propaganda too but it’s true. We’ve been conditioned to look at Russia negatively in the west, admittedly for many fair reasons, but that doesn’t mean everything about the place is bad or evil or something
@@S-K69 yeah man I completely agree with you, i'm sure Russia is beautiful just like any part of this world can be. Genuinely wasn't doubting that it is, just the tone and delivery of what he said made me imagine someone had a gun to his head and was like "make people visit Russia or I'll blow your brains out"!
What a waste of 5600 miles of beautiful country. Sitting grinding on a saddle, head down, in the "zone", and oblivious about 80% of the time. What a waste.
This is absolutely amazing on so many levels. And Red Bull did an amazing job highlighting this event. Bravo.
This is the longest UA-cam video I've ever watched unsupported ( no physiotherapist! No food!) and without taking a break.
That's super funny. Thank you!
bravo!
😄😄
Ohooooo Those Russians ( BoneyM )
😂
I Can't Believe Such An Endurance With The Hardest Weather Hazards In The Trans-Siberian. Wow......Wow What A Stunning Stamina & Paddling R.p.m
Incredible! We just got off the Trans-Siberian and were exhausted enough being on the train!
I can't believe there are no comments such as, "In Russia, you don't finish bike race. Bike race finishes you."
Well played sir
here it is
They told me scandal369 had it set up.........

Mein Gott. Wahnsinnig. Dr. Samarth, great respect.
Some of those roads looks amazing to ride. A ribbon of asphalt through the middle of nowhere. If only it was without large lorries and other traffic.
Well the lorries are the primary reason the roads were built in the first place :)
o Mixirica representou o Brasil... essa cara é demais! aplausos
Crazy!Want to attend one day! From China!

Awesome, Red Bull is first class.

are recumbents and velomobiles allowed?
297 hours 👍 " blood sport "

Well at 16 seconds it tells you "The route is 9100 Kms long" so even with a short attention span you ought to have got that far ;)
