Great demoing…but you might wanna do it again with the tone switch in the neutral position (no cap in circuit) so folks can hear what the White Penguin sounds like without the highs rolled down. :)
Was that first tune really Claire de Lune? I'm not hearing it at all. Did he start halfway through it or something? Whatever it is, I wanna know cause it was beautiful
Yeah, the first tune played definitely was. It’s always been one of my favorite classical pieces. I used to butcher it during my young days of piano lessons.
Dunno if you guys gives a damn but if you're bored like me atm then you can stream all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last days :)
I like seeing Lemmo with a Gretsch. I honestly feel they don’t get much of the spotlight as Strats, Les Pauls or Tele’s get... they have a good combination of a Fender Quack/Twang and the Snark/Honk from a Gibson.
@@kiaora12 not only that it was on the most muddy position possible. the switch going up is half way rolled off, down is all the way rolled off, in the middle it is not rolled off at all.
You left the tone switch on "DARK" the whole time... that's like demoing a Tele or Strat and rolling the tone knob all the way off for the entire "demo".... brutal!!
The gretsch really does justice to Lemmo’s interpretation of Debussy’s Claire de Lune 😜 it has a really unique tone that I haven’t really heard from other instruments from the era 😜
Fulltrons aren't MY thing, but they do have beautiful tone. These ones were pretty warm which I don't usually love, but these particular ones sounded incredible.
that is one very cool looking guitar , I luv the white with gold , the slick ebony board , the toasters , the arm guard , and the tremolo , it's all very bright and shiny and sparkly , and it sounds great , the classic Gretsch sound , likewise very bright and sparkly . As always , Lemmo , you make it look so easy , so much fun. thanks guys.
Hi, because of tracks 2 n 3 (2 especially) I'm responsible for the majority of the views. Probably the best looking guitar I've seen. Love you folks. b:D
The international guitar of the day is an amazing idea. But Norm and Marlene should go insted of you and Jen. They could plan it around famous artists on tour and bring them in to play with Norm. Marlene can be the videographer! Maybe not a daily but several a year. But don't say where they will be at ahead of release. Kinda like where in the world is the guitar king and queen! Maybe I just smoked. Lol! Well I am in love with that Gretch! Sounds beautiful. Great job on specs! Have a beautiful day in Cali! Raining here in Mn.
That white and gold is bitchin'! Might be the best looking guitar ever on GOTD. Lemmo should ask Norm to borrow it for his upcoming show at the Whisky.
*Psssstt....with those personally signed tickets for the Whisky show? What also would be super cool would be to include that cool Instagram pic with the feathers..smoke and lighter...😉. Ahem..this guitar brought out the "I'm a blonde that sometimes likes sparkly things.." in me...😀. Playing was a 10 all day... To add: those sure were some pretty blues in that last close up shot...👀
Perhaps you could do an international guitar of the day which features Guitars donated from overseas to be auctioned for the midnight mission. With feature videos from the people who donated the guitars, before the demo by Lemmo.
Love the guitar, so far, but why on earrh did you play all three sounds sounding like played in underwater? Rhere is almost no brilliance and sparkle here.
Hey Michael! Thank you for playing “Clair De Lune” it is my all time favorite piece of music. And yes readers, I passed my Hunter Safety Course when I was 10 years old! And no, I do not and never have had AIDS. Why would anybody think such a thing? Never mind the beard, its coming off as soon as we finish the trip. Have to check in the truck Saturday afternoon - in Seattle!
Great demoing…but you might wanna do it again with the tone switch in the neutral position (no cap in circuit) so folks can hear what the White Penguin sounds like without the highs rolled down. :)
The way he plays the base line and the melody over the top is crazy. I want to learn how to do that.
What's that style call?
It’s similar in concept not style to “Travis picking” like Chet Atkins and others
It’s hybrid picking

Wandering Surf thanks for keeping count and posting, 👍🏼
@@Claude1100 I'll echo that sentiment Andy 🤘
How do you know all that ?
Would be interested to know if fender spiked up after Lemmo started doing the show? Seems that Agnesi was more of a Gibson fan.
Wandering Surf you need a hobby bro ;)
You had the dark tone on for every pickup configuration.
We missed that Gretschy bite.
Claire de Lune on a Gretsch. Now I’ve heard it all.
Was that first tune really Claire de Lune? I'm not hearing it at all. Did he start halfway through it or something? Whatever it is, I wanna know cause it was beautiful

You couldn't be more right.
People think of Gretsch as a country/Chet guitar... They are so much more! Rock'n'Roll machines!
Too bad Lemmo left the mud switch on.
@@aGabay I agree with you completely. They're way more versatile than most people realize. They do make for a great country guitar, though.
@@nolanr7679 In some cases I feel they are more versatile then some fenders...
Don't know what the last piece was but f'ing cool as hell!
You left the mud switch on the whole time 😉
Yeatzee Guitar seriously? Well, that explains why I wasn’t impressed.
@@kiaora12 not only that it was on the most muddy position possible. the switch going up is half way rolled off, down is all the way rolled off, in the middle it is not rolled off at all.
@Blacks Love Oppression Culture 😂
i know we just had a Jazzmaster, but im itching for a Jaguar ep of GOTD. I may just want to hear Mike play some Johnny Marr sue me lol
You left the tone switch on "DARK" the whole time... that's like demoing a Tele or Strat and rolling the tone knob all the way off for the entire "demo".... brutal!!
Have vintage ‘65 country gentlemen nothing like that great gretsch sound!!
That second song he played makes me want to make a video game around it. Great playing Lemmo!
I sure hope Jen films “Lemmo Live” for those of us on the other coast. Would love to see the whole show on UA-cam after it’s over!!!!!
More great playing ! One beautiful sounding axe !
Michaels a F***ING great player . So eclectic and technical. When you jam with other people you make them sound way better 🐱
so rare to find playing that has great taste on a gear vid thanks
The gretsch really does justice to Lemmo’s interpretation of Debussy’s Claire de Lune 😜 it has a really unique tone that I haven’t really heard from other instruments from the era 😜
Great playing, you did that guitar Justice, you are a natural gretch player!
This guitar gives me major Jack White vibes and I love it
At long last... FINALLY!!! A WHITE PENGUIN!
Before I watch this, there better be some Jack White in this video.
Kumo.
YEAH RIGHT
That has some seriously awesome tone.
Came to check out the guitar stayed for the playing! Killer man! Thanks for the great music and demo!
3:54 you somehow put me on the beach at night and I was crying
Lemmo is just amazing, every time it’s a surprise
Bravo. Amazing demo. ❤
Even the back cavity cover plates are gold sparkle... fancy.
Some great playing, sounds amazing
Yes, GOTD in Melbourne , Australia 🇦🇺
Great playing
Unlike some geet demonstrators, you rarely hear the same tune twice when Lemmo’s doing it! Great job, nice Gretsch!!
Dream guitar right there! Lemmo, you’re too good bro!
Fabulous playing Michael.
Fulltrons aren't MY thing, but they do have beautiful tone. These ones were pretty warm which I don't usually love, but these particular ones sounded incredible.
He left the mud switch on all time! Awesome playing but please do your research on Gretsch Guitars Lemo
Lemmo killing it on the daily...good work as always sir :)

love the travel idea,,that would be quite interesting!!!!!!
Lems skills are just amazing!! Semper fi man. Hope hes puts out some lessons in UA-cam soon.
I remember he did that second song on the channel for norm before he was doing guitar of the day I think
What was that 2nd tune?
at 5:25
Debussy makes actually quite good jazz! And the instrument is beautiful!
Dig It! Now how about the Black Penguin with Single coil Dynasonic/DeArmond pickups... I know Norm has one laying around there somewhere...
So pretty. What was that piece he was playing about the 6 minute mark?
3 notes in and you had me lol. Love that Gretsch tone 🎸
My daughter is living in Japan, teaching conversational English.
Collectivist culture
Can someone find the tabs for the Clair De Lune he played in the beginning of his jam
As usual great playing ML!
What was the second tune?
Yeah what is that? The picking is crazy.
Not sure what I enjoyed more, the guitar or your playing. Both were great.
What is the name of the piece that starts at 5 : 30 mins?
Loved the last song, super funky mcfunk town

Pretty crazy. In previous episodes I've heard Lemmo play Clair de Lune on Jazzmasters. But God! that Gretsch tone is astonishing!
amazing playing Sir...as always.
We need more Gretsches. Maybe TV Jones Thursdays?
Lemmo sir can you finish that Clair de lune please. Thank you.
Where in the piece was that section? Do you know?
The Chad Pad I started hearing it at 4:18
Sick playing
Is it me or do all gretsches sound different?
so how the heck do you intonate a roller bridge?
itd be cool to see some of the original G&L guitars if you have any
If you do a Norman's Guitar of the Day - International, you can come to Australia too & see the guys at Maton in Melbourne...Just sayin'
beautiful tone !
Beautiful playing Lemmo!
A Fantastic sounding guitar. 💖
That white and gold is bitchin'! Might be the best looking guitar ever on GOTD. Lemmo should ask Norm to borrow it for his upcoming show at the Whisky.
Really enjoying these long held chords receiving the Bigsby treatment 4:00 , phwoar yeah! Chime On, you crazy diamond!

Ooh it's a work of art. Fabulous.
Mud switch up? Mid position is usually straight through...
wow. .. Debussy? I dream to play this! In a gtr like that... congrats
Nothing wacky about a White Penguin! Loved this one Lemmo! Keep it up! However! Gotta do a Maton!

Lemmo is king, whoa!! He needs to be a house hold name yup yup!!! Nice Gretsch BTW!!
Name of song at 5:25? Brilliant
Love the guitar, so far, but why on earrh did you play all three sounds sounding like played in underwater?

He left the tone switch on "dark" the whole time... it's like rolling the tone knob all the way down.
6:30
That chord = automatic Silvio Dante face.
Un instrument magnifique 👍👍
Was waiting for some Neil or Malcomb...
What's the last tune?
Just when I think I've heard all Mikey's tricks he goes and trades the van for a tote goat and... Totally redeem himself👍👍👍
Man it sounds great! Excellent playing! ❤️
That's one beautiful Mfer!
sooo cool
What is that middle song? The Lemmo signature song in the style of Jeff Buckley ?
Charles Scala yeah reminded me of those So Real chords
Clair De Lune!
Pretty!
Killer guitar
You know Petey knows guns.
Hey Norm, Jen's got a really great idea for guitar of the day...tell him Jen ; )

Love a bixby tremelo on a gretsch
Designed by Bill Bixby. Did you have a courtship with Eddie's father?
