This TAS i made "Runningbounceless" i think it is more entertaining without it. I wanted since long time making this TAS. But now finally i did ^.^
I'm unsure to making more. But i hope i get another time motivation for making a new SA2B TAS.
Thanks at "son1cgu1tar" and "brianpso" for their Mission 4 all rings. That helped me a lot for did my TAS run.

Obviously I know this is TAS but I find speedruns like this of actually playing and mastering the ins and outs of the level to be so much more entertaining to watch than just glitching through 80% of the stage in 45 seconds.

I used to do city escape. There's a way to get about 10 rings more than what it says is max too.

SaurusTheKing Apparently, getting all the rings in any stage automatically earns an A, even if the time bonus is zero.
Of course it would be. Why else would you spend 23 minutes abusing glitches as a kid to collect all the rings?
That wouldn't be possible because even if they didn't get a high enough score to get an A, collecting every ring gives you an A as well, most likely as a referrence to how in at least Sonic 2, you got a Perfect bonus for having every ring by the end of a level; funnily enough, they even share the fact that in several levels, this task isn't actually possible under normal play because rings are in normally unreachable areas.

Something about watching these TAS runs makes me believe the developers knew in 10, 20 years time people would be using these bizarre item placements to do speed runs. I'm actually starting to think these levels are more cleverly and intricately designed than I first appreciated.
Sonic the Hedgehog as a franchise was inspired by the original Super Mario Bros game, and trying to play the game as fast as possible or "speedrunning" the first level as stated by Sonic Team. It would make sense that these games are designed for speedrunning
TAS isn't about skill, but strategy; you need to stare down the game for hours on end to find the one perfect run.
A Bird is made by a machine, no human skill, its a program who find very single best move then it do it. Sorry for my english.

@@SuperStrikto No it's not a program finding the best moves, it's a human making frame perfect inputs, but the person has to find the right way on their own. There are tools to help them find the best route, but it is not simply AI playing. The program replays the inputs the person spent hours perfecting. It is in no way just AI playing the game for them. It still takes a lot of skill and talent as well as intelligence and patience, to make a good TAS. It's just not the exact same showcase of talent as a real-time run. Also, most people that can make a good TAS usually have good real-time skills too. You don't seem to understand how they're made and are taking credit away where credit is due.

@@docc_ SA2 works differently with wall running, you need to find a slope that moves into the wall first, or launch off of a curve into the wall.

i remember my friend and me, 13-14 years old, after school, beat the game all A ranks, and playing like this. We tried to destroy all speedruns on the net. This game was the best to do that, also Sonic Adventure 1.

Whenever I let my 4 year old brother play a Sonic game he always makes it a case to collect every single damn ring he can. It’s absolutely painful to sit through but god is it funny.
