On my farm we had what we call here a Sand Point very similar to what they are doing we pound it with a hand pounder with a sand point tip. Our well was 24ft and had great water until they sprayed our fields then we developed headaches. After that we did a drilled well with a 6-in casing and we had horrible water because we hit Granite at 42 ft so our water was so full of iron
Great info Rick…now I know what mine will look like 😊 I’ll have Richard build the same type cover for my well. Thanks for the shout out in the video…you knew I was going to be watching this video for sure! Talk to you soon. Tony
Hello my friend nice little video where me and My Wife planned to buy our property. We have freshwater coming from the mountains for free but we will have to put in pressure tanks and stuff like that to give us more pressure in the house but thank you for the video good to see you guys good to see the house is coming along still good he keeps me encouraged to build myself a good house there when we are finally ready I wish you and your beautiful family a happy holidays safe healthy holidays. God bless Scott from Chicago.
That mountain spring water is a nice thing to have brother. None available here in Central Luzon so digging a well is a necessity. Always good to hear from you and hoping your New Years is the best!
Interesting Rick, I always get a kick out of things are done so differently there than here not that they're wrong they're just different but I think this is a very interesting video my friend
Hi! Wouldn't it be better to dig a medieval well , drop there a pump and make the same roof. So you could have two ways of getting the water by beckets and automatically how you did it. When you have a huge hole with a water where you can even swim, its easier to get a water.. The problem is that down there on the end of the pipe under the ground there are a lot of dirt and when the filter is getting dirty the water doesn't go,- it means you have to uninstall it and fix it, and no one knows how much will they charge you and will it be fixable or not. But I hope that it will work good and long. Thank you for sharing your own experience. I was just interested in the prices because I'm gonna getting married the same as you and have my own house in Philippines.
We actually have a natural spring down at the bottom of our property that we can access by bucket or even shower with if we choose. I prefer the automatic wells as it easily provides the pressure we need to distribute the water throughout the home and property. We have had to have the leather cap replaced at the bottom of our pipes once before and we were charged P1k for replacing that piece. Outside of that, no other issues!
Hi Rick…the more I look at that beautiful blue sky there, the more I can’t wait to get back there! Good idea on the 2nd well for the pool and garden. And the new one sure sounds more reasonably priced. Regarding your front yard. Is there anything there resembling an in ground sprinkler system, like what we have in the states? Merry Christmas to you guys 🎄🎁
Thanks brother and I never get tired of those blue skies! So, no, I have never seen anyone with an inground sprinkler system. But that being said, doesn't necessarily mean it can't happen. I have a buddy over in San Jose that just installed Rainbird inground sprinkler heads at his home. Not sure where he got them, possibly Amazon, but not sure. I believe he shared with me that he has valves he turns on to operate two heads at a time. I am sure due to the pressure. So, no automatic timer or programmed stations, but a compromise between dragging a sprinkler around like we do, and having a fully automatic system.
I am almost sure I put that in the video Donald, but knowing how I get sidetracked, it might be broken up into various parts of the video. If so, I apologize brother. The well cost all in, P65k which is about $1180 US.
The superpipes, not sure why they call them that, but they are essentially the exterior of the drilled cavity that allows the water to go from the underground aquifer to the surface.
Good video, wish I could have my own well but to many rocks where we live. You said that your dog went to obedience school in Olongapo, can you tell me where. Seems like everything is hard to find in the Philippines. Thanks
My driller tells me they are able to get through rock, it just takes them longer and I am sure a few more pesos brother. Den Acosta Valenzuela Dog Training Services is the trainer that worked with Anya. You can find him in FB or just a Google search. Thanks for watching!
They don't live within city limits (even township, actually)-- quite far from it. Most homes similar to his almost always have deep well set-up. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🧑🏻🎄
Thanks for doing this Rick.I'm about to have a deep well put in our lot we bought in Bauang. This helps me to understand the process. And by the way..Merry Christmas to You and Your Family!!
hello Rick, thanks for the vid, we also start building mid next year in alfondso cavite, you mention a company for water filtration from there i will drop you later a mail for details for that company. merry Christmas have great time with your beautiful wife and new born, greetings Hans and Rizza
Wishing you the best on your future build brother! The company we bought our filtration from is H2O in Cavite. I even listed it in the vlog that I did on our water filtration system. Very reasonably priced and you being in Cavite, they would probably have installation available as well. They would come up here to install, but I found a local plumber that installed it for P1k here.
We had a whole house carbon backwash filter and four and multiple sediment cartridges. Our water actually tested better than the water sold in the refilling stations, but we decided that since it was an agricultural area, might be better to be safe incase pesticides were able to leach to that deep level. My recommendation is to have your water tested at a government lab and tailor your filtration accordingly.
Hello. Can you tell me where are you located? I know someone in the Philippines who needs a well dug, but I don't know if they are close to you or not.
This doesn't make sense to me. You already have a deep well. Wouldn't the solution for your needs be a larger water tank, or secondary tank, bigger water pump motor, etc. Why a completely separate well??
Hey Kevin, thanks for watching brother. Sorry if I confused you. There were actually several ways we could have addressed our needs, but this is just what I chose to do. I am not a fan of large water tanks so mine are small and located within our pump room. Anything larger would have had to be outside and visible, and that is just a personal preference for me. I could have dug a submersible well that is capable of moving a much larger amount of water, but I am not growing rice so I did not have a need for that large of a quantity of water. A larger hp pump was an option, but I run on solar and it was important to me to ensure my water usage happens mostly during the day when we have sun, so for us, this just seemed the best solution. Not saying it is your solution, just what I though would work best for the Baker household.
Thanks for the latest video Me and my partner coming to Cuyapo from January 2 we have a couple of pieces of land we are interested in We may need a builder so I may reach out to your builder for a price if that ok We are also looking in Cuyapo
Hey Darren, welcome to Central Luzon brother! I am sure the builder would love you reaching out, just know that our experience did not end well with him. But, things can change and it is always possible that you will not go through a similar outcome. If you know what to expect, outcomes can be better!
looking on google maps we just outside cuyapo town literaly 5 mins drive ,,,so looking forward to arriving again as we both work in taiwan but once built my partner will overlook the build while i will continue to work
Jenn and Genesis do hope to test for US citizenship in a couple of years. They have had their visa for a year now, so in about a year and a half, we will start that process. If they secure their citizenship, then they will petition the Philippine consulate to obtain dual citizenship status. Will make going back and forth so much easier if we can obtain that goal. Thanks for watching!
Only erosion happening here is during the rainy season and not from our wells. I have never heard of anyone having a lack of ground water here. If they government banned the drilling of wells, I am pretty sure it would cause economic mayhem here. This entire region of Luzon survives off of race farming and rice has to have water to grow, so I don't really see that happening.
Nice i love it your vedios I'm enjoyed watching 😊
So glad you enjoyed! We really appreciate you watching 🙏

No granite that I know of here brother. But at 110ft, we are getting super clean and tasty water. Hope you liked the last voice message I left you
Great info Rick…now I know what mine will look like 😊
I’ll have Richard build the same type cover for my well.

Yes sir, I figured you would . Hope your dig is still on track brother. Happiest of New Year's to you and yours!

Nice job on the second well. The work shop/storage looks great.
Thanks Dylan! When you headed over again?
Interesting Rick, I always get a kick out of things are done so differently there than here not that they're wrong they're just different but I think this is a very interesting video my friend
Thanks brother, I felt the same and thought folks might like to see how it is done here.
this reminds me so much of my younger days, I used to witness this before
It is a sight to behold for sure!

How much did the well drilling cost. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR 😊

You did say the cost of the well I guess I was a little inpatient for the cost thank you for your response HAPPY HEALTHY NEW YEAR 😊 🎉
Thx for your information.
Just out of interest: What exactly do you need these "superpipes" for? (I understand the leftovers for the housing...)
The superpipes, not sure why they call them that, but they are essentially the exterior of the drilled cavity that allows the water to go from the underground aquifer to the surface.
Hi Rick. Can you provide me information on where you get the pump and pipe in Philippines. Thank you.
Yes sir. We got our pump at the Agricultural supply warehouse in Rosales and the pipe I got at the hardware store in Cuyapo.
Good video, wish I could have my own well but to many rocks where we live. You said that your dog went to obedience school in Olongapo, can you tell me where. Seems like everything is hard to find in the Philippines. Thanks

Happy holidays to you and your family why you dnt just get city water
They don't live within city limits (even township, actually)-- quite far from it. Most homes similar to his almost always have deep well set-up. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🧑🏻🎄
You hit the nail on the head brother! Thanks for the help and appreciate you watching!
Out in the province, as they say, municipal water sources are almost non-existent, so a personal well is really our best option.
Hello, merry Christmas.if you dont mind how much it cost for the installation of deep well?thanks
I know I put it in there, but it might be spread out . All in, we spent right at P65k, which is around $1150 US.
Thanks for doing this Rick.I'm about to have a deep well put in our lot we bought in Bauang. This helps me to understand the process. And by the way..Merry Christmas to You and Your Family!!
Then it was excellent timing brother! Glad to help. Hope Christmas was peaceful and your New Years is the best!

Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija
@@rickbaker0217 your a long ways from her. Thank you.
Always best to find someone local. Problems will come up and you will need the installer to be able to respond in a timely manner.

Philippines should banned digging well! Causing erosion & emptying ground water.
Only erosion happening here is during the rainy season and not from our wells. I have never heard of anyone having a lack of ground water here. LOL!!!!
Always good to know I put a smile on someone's face 🤣
Pardon me...don't see deep well digging, just all deep talking well?
Can't argue brother, I do talk a lot, and for that I'm sorry. It's just who I am I suppose .
