Happy that you mentioned the Dimetrodon. They're my favorite because pumping their melee Stat raises their insulation ability and range. I initially use the first Dimetrodon I find and just level melee, but my last game I had two and bred them for melee mutations and could literally hatch Wyvern eggs with them. No AC or fire needed. They're also really useful backup if you have to traverse somewhere on foot that you don't have the armor or fortitude for and you haven't gotten an otter yet. Level their melee, set them to follow at medium distance, and enjoy the temperate climate. Otter is obviously easier but these guys work in a pinch.
Great video. Even with avoiding the Gen 2 Incubator engram and late game things like XP grinding of babies or mammal-based hide farms, this is well targeted. A calm, clear and succinct description without ridiculous fanfare and obvious care taken to the production quality makes for a good quick guide. The only criticism I have is: where was this when I was starting out years ago?
Great video james i always struggled with this aspect of the game. Funny thing I was playing the island again and built on Herbi island and the unicorn spawned there yay
James! Love your videos! I'm wondering if you have a favorite design for hatching area. I notice in complete the ark you tend to have an open kind of shelter versus inside a sealed building. Is that just more convenient or depends on the type of dino?
Wait, so what happens if you fail some of the imprints? Or don't feed it in time. How many imprints until it's fully grown? What is the care like after this video? I'm left with so many questions :-(
Thanks, ive been looking for a beginner video for like 10 minutes now. I just want more raptors. I dont need to teach them trigonometry and find out wich one has the biggest ass.
Ok so in order to incubate an egg i need air-conditioning or to put fires around it alright.... Noooooow what about eggs that prefer it colder and im, you know... not at the stage for powered air-conditioning yet?
Tame dimetrodons or otters and put them around. Also day vs night can impact heat/cold. Use an enclosed shelter with a dino gate can help. It all depends. You notice he hatched Yuti egg which needs heat in the daytime

Thats cool actually.
Excellent video James! I think this will be super useful for new players. You explained things very well.
Thanks for doing these How To vids. I always find them super useful. So much depth to Ark you can easily miss some of this stuff
Otters Regulate Fertilized Eggs. lay 3 them around the egg.. all you need
Fertilized eggs also can be made into kibble
Congrats on this video making the March 31st Community Crunch!!!!
Thx for this vid I been looking for hatching my eggs
Always good to revise the basics. 🤟
Thank you this helped a lot

I love using the incubator but when u don't have one the air condition and fire works the best
Good info.
Can I also hatch a giga egg like that?

I have been trying to figure out the imprinting now I know cheers! Mine seem to mature before I can do imprinting tho 🤔
But in my base the egg is showing only decompose and droped by tom then what i do

My fertilized bronto eggs are incubating by the fire but the egg incubation % keeps decreasing. How do I fix that?
i did everything for the air conditioner and it still says it’s to cold, is my game bugged or something?
GET ON WITH IT !!!!!

so in name i saw it was DIplo egg and i was so hyped but it didnt glow like yours
Is hatching 3 rexes from the same egg rare? Me and my friend got 3 from 1 from out first egg
No, but hatching multiples with the stats and mutations you want can tend to be. At least for me
So u can’t hatch eggs/bronto eggs without fertilizing them???
No must be fertilized otherwise they are only good for kibble
@@CompleteGamesWithJames thanks bro! Gotta baby raptors otw now instead
