Dude, honestly it would have made my decision impossible, that car is beautiful. I had no choice but to purchase the Veloster N. Trust me, I'm not complaining, but if I'd had to choose between the 3, I probably couldn't have, 😆!
You ever gonna be driving from the rear seats though? I prefer the look of the rear of the fastback too though, I also like the diffuser much more, they should add it to the hatch.
I've found it. Been trying to find my dream affordable car and it's the i30 fastback N. That's after researching into the: Honda civic type r mk8, ford mustang, gt86, 370z Nismo, subaru wrx sti etc.
I love my i30N but it needs these: -Vented seats: i have heated seats, but here in Australia where its 30 degrees + all year round, vented seats are a necessity. -Rear AC vents -Rear charge ports (USB and/or 12V socket) -A more lively interior: i have the optional panoramic sunroof and part suede/leather seats and N floormats, but the car's door panels need some stitched leather in my opinion -Better sound system!
Great video. They are both absolutely beautiful I would like to drive both and then decide which one to get - but the hatchback is more practical in daily use.. At first, I didn’t like the Fastback but it’s grew on me, especially in blue color.
Wheter you like the car or not( i do) can we please applaud that N guy for knowing exactly what is what and why. He even gives details that wont matter for 99.9% of buyers but is important for the 0.1%, and he does it without the 99.9% notices. What a nice guy. He really knows his N cars
Gday and thanks for this. Luckily for me I took delivery of my N hatch a month ago and love it to bits! I like the look of the hatch more, but I like that the Fastback differentiates it from the kazillion other i30’s on Aussie roads. Definitely would not say no to having a his n hers one of each in the driveway... Maybe when this lease runs out, we’ll buy the hatch a get a a Fastback. :)

Everyone is complaining about the VN in the states. I personally find all 3 to look really good. Pics dont do the veloster justice. Seeing it in person it's really nice.
I think the fastback looks a lot better ..... But you'd be upset if you bought the hatch then preferred the fastback . If only marketing was honest and informed everyone of the fastback .
I get that the fastback is attractive, in Australia (having owned an XKE Type Jag in the mid 1960's, I can only say that heat's a killer) & whilst maybe less smooth through the air, I prefer the hatch & also I have an i30SRPremiumturboDCT(aka Elantra-GT in the States) so I would say that. [I think of it as a lowered SUV for practicality, and a hatch for tight parking & I still pilot aeroplanes when I really need aerodynamics and streamlining. :-) ]
I would rather pick a i30 N Fastback. Because it’s much more look so nice when I look behind of it! But both of them is way much better than my Veloster N. i30 N Front headlamp is looks aggressive. So, Please Hyundai sell i30 N in South Korea!!! I really envy Europeans. 😢
I don't know if I like the rear of this car, 1:21 if that rear glass didn't flow all the way to the back of the car, if it stopped and then a foot of boot space with the lip spoiler it would look so much better. This reminds me too much of a Prius rear, when looking at it from the side.
The fastback is just a beautifull car. They really knocking it out the park with this one. The only thing that puts me off is the dash screen. I personally think indash screen will be better. But its just me
That would be a really good looking rear end for something that only had two doors and a long nose, lets say something that would be a direct competitor to the ft86 chassis.
In own the i30n fastback. Plus and minuses: +Nothing cracks and pops like this one from the factory (love it) - front wheel drive, (whyyyyy didn't they make it 4wheel drive whyyy, it can't get the power down to the road)
There are so many people waiting to sell the i30 N in the US right now. I don't know why, but Hyundai is not selling the i30 N and i30 Fastback N in the US. There are a lot of people who like manual gear cars who don't like two or three doors, and I know that many people are waiting for the i30 N. I am also one of the people who have been waiting for a car to enter America since a few years ago. If this car enters the US, I will buy it too.
I like it but the rear is just a bit too out, it’s like someone has crashed into the back of a CLS. It also should be RWD, as should most cars, but I’ll never have my way.

The roads in Australia require a far different suspension tune to places where the car was initially tested and developed. European roads typically are better, smoother and well maintained. Australian roads and road surfaces call for a different suspension tune.
You are very lucky in Australia that your i30N's doesn't have the new (rubbish) GPF-Filter... we have only 91DB now, instead the 109DB exhaust noises.. :(
Fastback looks nice but hatchback is more spacious. So, I might say the lamest thing but in my opinion unlike them both. If I had both I would use fastback as a weekend car. But no point in having 2 Hyundais with the N badge. So in my opinion keeping i30N hatch is like keeping a VW golf R. You can use them for both sport and daily drive. Even the Honda Civic type r 10th gen you can use both sport and daily drive, quite economical for a "everyday sports car" type, and they're quite powerful. Agree with another person here, people can say whatever they want about Hyundai.... But Hyundai has changed ever since the Excel. Here in Australia the corollas, excels and pulsars were most common for everyday car. Cheap price back then too. Now it's more Corollas. Ever since the excel people start to look down in Hyundai. That's why not many Hyundai were sold. Even back then Korean brand Daewoo and Kias were often looked down more than Hyundai. Hyundai had help from few German engineers car designers that's how they succeeded then Kia followed Hyundai. Daewoo went bankrupt. We still have sanyong here in Australia but not many people drive it. Very few on the road. Apology for long message. Hyundai and Kia both made big changes. Saw a funny video of Hyundai iMax N with everyone in the van all wearing black suits or something, and they drifted in the van. Lol. Those who haven't seen should watch it. :P

I think legroom would be annoying before headroom, and I don’t think many people carry 4x 6ft tall adults in the car at once anyway.
Read between the lines - the tone it generates is closer to what you'd EXPECT from it. The car is quite capable of making these noises, but for comfort reasons quite often tone generators are employed so you can make it quiet when you want, and louder other times. I used to think it was stupid, until I bought a diesel SUV which has a factory V8 sound generator and actually makes the driving experience far more enjoyable.

I got the Fastback N Performance version in Shadow Grey and its the best purchace i ever made. Loving it.
Visually I prefer the hatch and it is also more practical. Fastback looks dope too.
Hatch is more practical but I prefer the fastback purely on looks; suspect i'm in an older demographic than you. Great to have the choice!

I normally prefer hot hatches, but that "ducktail" on the fastback makes me feel FEELINGS. Too bad we only get the Veloster N in the States.
