- Part 2 of the 8mm series starts out at Huntington, Indiana in our first trip to see the Erie Lackawanna & N&W railroads. We see the EL Lake Cities passenger trains and also the Wabash Cannonball on the N&W. Then back at Marion, Indiana we catpture a few trains on the Big Four and ex NKP Cloverleaf down town by the diamond at Kent Tower. Then several scenes from the bridges in west Marion of Penn Central & C&O. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
look at those cars rock at 5:22
Yes that's the good ole Penn Central days for sure.
Oh, that PC, EL, B&O, C&O era was so awesome. I miss the 70s. I'd go back there in a heartbeat!
Oh man I would go back in a heartbeat too. Except next time, get16mm sound. Thanks for the comments. Always appreciated
If you're goin back sneak a camcorder w/you!😂
Love all that 1st and 2nd generation power.
My late friend Gene Drabenstot often worked WR "tower", actually a one story building, that guarded the N&W crossing there in Huntington. He also owned the "Nick's Kitchen" restaurant. Photos of all the towers and block stations Gene worked at still adorn the walls.
Oh I bet I've talked to him before. Used to hang out at Huntington all the way to the way to the end of the EL. Wow he owned Nicks Kitchen. I love that place. I still eat there. Sorry he's not with us anymore.
@@NELSONRRVIDS His daughter Jean owns it now. He had quite afew Railfan friends. I remember him driving his Caddy Eldorado down US 224, Elvis blaring on his cassette player, going to a local fast food stop to treat myself and a buddy to lunch! Those are the times you never forget.
Excellent
I Personally find it very interesting that rail cars really have not changed much over the year's 🚂
Yes they have a lot for sure. Especially with intermodal and special auto parts cars. Really just about everything has.
No graffiti back then, can hardly find a car today without any
Great fun watching these videos, a trip back in time.
Thanks again
excellent video :)
Thank you very much
Thank you
Back door open on Cannonball cause car I bet was running hot. To drive business away.
Very nice getting to see this content. Cloverleaf is one of my favorite lines.
Thank you. I have a few videos on this channel of the Cloverleaf taken the last couple years if you want to check them out.
@NELSONRRVIDS happen to have videos from marion to Kokomo and marion to Van buren before the 80s?
Thank you for the comments
love the big e and my alcos
So great to see the EL footage in Huntington. Go to that spot today and you'd never know any of that was there. I've seen your guys' pictures of some of these trains in the past, so it's great to see them in motion. Big thanks for converting and sharing these.
Thanks for the kind comments. I appreciate that. I’m glad you enjoyed them. I will be posting a couple 8mm with sound soon. Unfortunately no sound on the EL though. Thanks again
Love theses old videos. Should have left the projector sounds in, it’s a reminder of how old I am. 😊
Thanks. Yeah I wasn't sure if I should leave the sounds in or not.
Oh, man! ❤Couldn't you die for some good sound? Thanks a lot for this. Takes me back and something you needed to share, too. Thanks again!
Thank you. I have some super 8 sound I will post next week. Appreciate the comment
Thanks for the nice comments. Yes I would kill to have had sound back then. We did later fo to 8mm sound. I will be posting some with sound soon. Sorry the quality is sub par but I just want to put it out there for people to see. Thanks again
@@NELSONRRVIDS I actually like watching them as old 8mm films. More nostalgic for me. Thanks for sharing.
