All 4 members of Queen were songwriters and all 4 were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for their work. Freddie wrote "Bohemian Rhapsody" along with dozens of other songs. Sir Brian May, the guitar hero, wrote, among many other songs, "We Will Rock You," "Fat Bottomed Girls," and the beautiful "39." Bassist, John Deacon wrote the iconic bass lines for "Another One Bites the Dust" (and wrote the song), and "Under Pressure" which was written by the band and David Bowie. Deacy also wrote "You're My Best Friend," and several other songs. Drummer, Roger Taylor, besides singing beautifully (which Brian can also do), wrote the hilarious, "I'm in Love With My Car," the fun "Radio Ga Ga," and the sharp "Sheer Heart Attack" among other songs. Delving into Queen is worth every second passing bunnies down the hole.
Freddie wrote the music and lyrics for all of his songs he did with Queen. Some of his personal projects he had co-authors. Freddie was not the only writer in the band Queen, all four members wrote songs and all had number 1 hit songs. This is part of the reason that the band was so diverse in their musical styles. Queen was a British Rock Band I am guessing they knew nothing about the bohemian hide out. The term Bohemian in this song refers to "socially unconventional in an artistic way" and rhapsody refers to a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, color, and tonality. As far as what the lyrics mean, Freddie never said, he wanted to leave the interpretation up to the listener. There are lots of thoughts about what this song means, some say he is coming out, and killing a man is him leaving his old life for a new life. His family was from a religion, a very old religion where homosexuality was considered as demonic so if it is about that, some of it might make sense. I just break the song down into three parts first: the crime, second: the judgement and third: the outcome or the escape who knows because "nothing really matters."
Guy on the right, that’s as apt a description as I’ve ever heard. Freddie never said what it was about. He just said “this song is my gift to the world.” And almost 50 years later……🙏🔥
Bohemian -a socially unconventional person, especially one who is involved in the arts. Rhapsody - a piece of music that has no formal structure and expresses powerful feelings. x
I wouldn't really call myself a fan of Queen. I definitely respect what they have done and don't mind hearing them from time to time but I gotta say that Freddy Mercury was probably the best frontman in music thus far.
As a child waiting for the radio to play this song....... Then when it did come on crying because it was so beautiful. I remember as far back as 7yrs old....hearing this.🖤
He's not going to jail, he's going to be executed. Don't forget: "I don't wanna die, sometimes wish I'd never been born at all" The band wanted each person to interpret the song for themselves so it means what ever it means to you. Great reaction! 🤘Rock On!🤘
Freddie wrote this one (all but the fine detail of Brian's guitar solo), but all four members of the band have been inducted into the songwriters hall of fame. All Queen songs were written by members of the band (both music and lyrics), Freddie wrote the most then Brian, Roger and lastly John (although he wrote some of their biggest hits)
its not about an actually killling, you have to look at the whole picture of this song as compared to the Album its on. The Album is "A Night at the Opera". Most of the songs on that Album are in some way or another related to Opera and Operatic Theater. It was also 3 Diff songs Freddie had been working on all put together. That whole Scenerio fandango and mama mia and whole operatic part of Bohemian Rhapsody eluded to Opera. This song was an Operatic Play that played out in Freddies mind, he was simply.....A GENIUS
You could also tie in a nod to the common languages that most operas are sung in. Mama Mia (Italian), Fandango (Spanish), and Bohemian (German) are a few examples.
I always interpretated the lyrics as him coming out and being seen as a sin hence the "devil" part. Also because his family is Persian back he probably felt less accepted. Also it was like killing the old him and just being himself and comfortable in his skin. But not just him the band as a whole going lets make this our "holy grail" the song taking them from queen to QUEEN.
Freddie Mercury was voted the greatest singer and frontman of all time. He has been deemed by science to be the greatest singer of all time. In 2016 scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. He was able to create a faster vibrato 7.04 Hz and several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat singers. This song is now 46 years old!! Legendary. And yes, Little Richard was Gay. He pretty much didn't really hide it! Freddie sung every Genre. Google songs by Freddie..he did over 100.. all the members wrote songs though, and all 4 members of Queen had a hit no.1. The beginning harmonies of Bohemian Rhapsody are all Freddie harmonising with himself by the way... Scaramouche is a jester or a clown, fandango is a dance, Figaro a famous Opera, galileo a famous astronomer, Bismilah meaning..in the name of God... there are all thoughts of the meaning of this song. Some believe the man killing himself is the old Freddie accepting the new Freddie ie. Accepting he was Gay. But it's open to interpretation. Freddie always said it was something and nothing. That it was up to the listener... "if you see it there, then it's there darling".. Freddie Mercury.
lol - yeah, I was going to answer him too, that the "woman on the far right" is their drummer, Roger Taylor (not Brian May) lol - wait until they see the video for "I Want To Break Free".
If you wonder, Bismillah is the equivalent to "in the name of God", in arabic. Freddie being from a family from Cashmire if I'm correct, where Islam is very important. However, Freddie's family was more into Zoroastrianism apparently, one of the oldest religions still existing in the world, still existing in Iran by the way. But Bismillah is a famous muslim word, related to prayers
Freddie’s family were Parsi Indians ( descended from Zoroastrian Persians who had fled Persia during the Muslim Conquest 1000 years ago, and settled in India) - but Freddie was born ( birth name: Farrokh Bulsara) in Zanzibar (the island portion of modern-day Tanzania) because his father was a cashier/clerk for the British Colonial authority and had been transferred to Zanzibar. Freddie family sent him to a British-style boarding school back in India for his education, and thus he spent several years away from his parents and little sister Kashmira. Soon after he graduated and returned to Zanzibar, Freddie’s family fled the island in the face of revolution to overthrow British rule - the family settled n England when Freddie was 18-19 years old.
Great analysis! The song can have two meanings, it is the story of a young man who kills someone, he hands himself over to the authorities, the middle section is a trial for his soul between heaven and hell. He goes through the 5 stages of grieve, he becomes angry at the situation, and then accepts his fate, like a tragic opera. The song can also be metaphorical, where he kills a part of himself, "Bohemian" is an artist and a "Rhapsody" is a tale or the life story of a person. It can translate to the life story of an artist of an entertainer. Hence the lyric, "Scaramouche will you do the fandango". Scaramouche is a clown character from a few Italian operas. Someone is asking a clown to do a jig. As a performer you have to set aside your own personal feelings and perform to the audience. There is also the idea that you have to kill a part of yourself to be famous or make a deal with the devil, it is the Faustian bargain. The audience and music industry can be fickle one day they will love you and one day they want to stone you. The opera Pagliacci (which means clown) is the story of a clown that discovers his wife is cheating on him, but he still has to put on a happy face and perform to the people, while he is having a mental break down. The main aria from Pagliacci is Vesti La Giubba, which means, put on your motley (costume) and perform. Freddie Mercury used parts of the aria Vesti La Giubba in his song "It's A Hard Life", this is a subject he definitely thought about. He also covered The Great Pretender, which also mentions a clown. Queen wrote and performed all of their music. Freddie wrote the most Queen songs out of the 4 of them, he wrote 71 Queen songs, that includes the music and the lyrics. People recognise Freddie Mercury for his singing and performances, but he might have been an even better composer then a singer and a performer. Bohemian Rhapsody has cords that repeats throughout the whole song, it not different songs put together. It is likely the most complex popular song, it has 49 different cords, whereas music today has 3 - 1 cords. Freddie Mercury's song writing was really unique and complex, even a song that sounds simple such as We Are The Champions, have 27 different cords. Freddie Mercury is almost like a modern day Mozart. Freddie Mercury was also a good musician as well, he was a better pianist then people often realize.
“From the brain of Fred” ~Brian May That intro is all Freddie. It’s a spiritual battle. The fandango, scaramouch etc could represent the circus like atmosphere in the “justice” system. They all wrote songs.
Brian May recently said it was understood among the band members that you accepted each other's song without asking about the meanings. They wanted the listener to use their imagination, and obviously, most people have their own opinion and believe they know the definitive meanings of every song ever written. Freddie did not discuss the meaning, just saying if you see it, then that's what it means to you. He started working on this in college. Tim Staffel, who Freddie replaced, was a classmate of Freddie's and said he was often singing the first line "Mama, just killed a man", and while working on recording it, the guys referred to it as Fred's cowboy song. Westerns were very popular on TV and in the movies in the 70's
RIP Freddie Mercury he passed away from AIDS, but Freddie Mercury said it is his master piece and he wanted everyone to interpret anyway they wanted to. Much love 💘❤
Queen’s Live Aid performance was legendary if you can/want to ever check that out. I felt the movie (while I didn’t vibe with every direction they went) touched very well on this segment of the bands career.
Freddie and Brian wrote the majority of Queen's songs but Roger and John also wrote a number of songs. John Deacon (bass) actually wrote Under Pressure. It's the only Queen song to go to #1 in the US. Many of their songs were #1 in the rest of the world. For Bohemian Rhapsody they overlayed the tracks to get the sound. They said the tape was so thin it was almost transparent. There are a number of Queen documentaries out there that explain Queen's history on UA-cam, Netflix and Prime. The high vocals are done by Roger Taylor (drummer). Funny is that Brian May (guitar) still has his long curly hair; even though it's gray now. He's 75 and still killing it on the guitar as us Roger on the drums. They still tour as Queen + Adam Lambert. They toured Europe last summer and it looks like they are trying to put together a tour for the US in 2023. I will definitely be there! It's really moving when Brian sings Love of My Life and Freddie comes on the screen to sing.
Man, you guys rock! To not just be music fans but to open yourselves up to different kinds of rock, jazz, blues, R&B, pop standards, international music, country, soul, rap and any music genre takes a certain depth in music taste. All that matters is that you’re exposing yourself to what is considered the greatest pieces of music ever made. I could give you a short list of music that has great storytelling in the lyrics. Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreckage of the Edmund Fitzgerald(true story about the 1974 iron ore ship that sank and there is a documentary. This song is a tribute to the men that died on that ship.) Michael Martin Murphy - Wildfire Harry Chapin - Taxi Patti Smith - Pissing in the River Pat Benatar - Hell is for Children Deep Purple - When a Blind Man Cries Dream Theater - The Ministry of Lost Souls KISS - I Still Love You(Unplugged) U2 - Love is Blindness Depeche Mode - One Caress Johnny Cash - The Beast in Me Barbra Streisand - Left in the Dark Meat Loaf - For Cryin’ Out Loud Judas Priest - Angel White Lion - When The Children Cry Steelheart - She’s Gone Scorpions - Still Loving You Rod Stewart - I Don’t Want to Talk About It Ted Neeley - I Only Want to Know from Jesus Christ Superstar Just a few suggestions I would love to see you both react to. No matter what you choose I will be looking forward to seeing your reaction. Take care, guys. Peace!!
Liberace! And I guessed Little Richard too. And in the pic, on the right is Roger Meaddowes- Taylor, drums (renamed just Taylor when the Brits realized Americans don't like double- barrelled names). Brian May (guitar) is 2nd right, and John Deacon (called Deacon John on the first four albums) is on the left (bass).
Bohemian Rhapsody' WAS Freddie's confessional. It was about how different his life could have been, and how much happier he might have been, had he just been able to be himself, the whole of his life. The world heard this song as a masterpiece of imagination, a great command of musical styles. 🤘🏼😎❤
Thankyou!!! Please check out some more Queen, especially live performances. May I suggest Fatbottemd Girls live at the Bowl or Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow. Much bless youngmans
Great reaction as always y'all! ♥ Another great video you two should check out is "Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody [Live in Hyde Park 2017]". THAT is the legacy that Queen, and especially Freddy Mercury, left behind. It's beautiful and simply amazing.
I'm 46 this year as long as I can remember I have always heard queen songs my dad's fav group and I got a tape and a Walkman for my 10 birthday still a massive fan today and yes Freddie is the man love from New Zealand
No disrespect to Bohemian Rhapsody, as I adore it and adore Queen…but there are SO many overlooked Queen songs that no one will hear on a “greatest hits” album. It is a great song, but there is a catalog of music from them that many don’t listen to. “The Prophet’s Song” was one of the first of those songs that really made me say WOW.
It's cool ya'll found your own meaning in the music. That's what it's all about. I love your reaction. I can't help but think Freddie would love to watch these too. Grateful for all the masterpieces he left us.
This is so masterful. Life changing the first time heard. Now you need to see the official video, Brian May is playing his homemade guitar, built with his father. Have you heard of the Easybeats? The singer Stevie Wright sang an epic 3 parter, Evie parts 1,11 and 111. Written by Vander and Young, (big bro of the Angus and Malcom Young in AC/DC) Long before Queen did this.
God-like…..PERFECT analogy of Freddie Mercury’s voice my friend Fandango definition: a Spanish dance between two people AND a foolish act 😉 in which murder is a foolish act
Freddie Mercury's biographer Lesley-Ann Jones has revealed that Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' contains a hidden message in the form of a confession by Mercury that he was gay. ... This is Freddie admitting that he is gay. 'In the line “Mama, I just killed a man” he's killed the old Freddie, his former image.”
Freddie never spoke in public about the meaning of this song, but as an Englishman he was heavily against the death penalty because it hurted the black commun ity much more then the white... I hearded this from them themself, they sponsored a seal rescue in The Netherlands and Brian May still visits every year (in secret)
My take on the lyrics "mama, just killed a man, put a gun against his head pulled my trigger. Now he's dead", has always been him coming out and basically killing the man that people thought he was to be the person he actually was .
Smokey, I think the old school guy you were thinking of was Liberace(phonetically Lib-er-awchi) not Little Richard. Like Rock Hudson, he was one of those "confirmed bachelors".
nice sum up they say it's also cos he didn't come out at that time,so the gun against his head was his old straight self bohemian being an alt life style back then,so the story of a boho accepting the way it goes
No matter your musical preferences, Queen is the best to ever do it. The lyrics, the instruments, the absolute talent of it all put together... 👏🏼 The rumor I choose to believe about this song is that it was Freddie talking about how he finally "came out" and came into his own as who he was. "Mama, just killed a man" wasn't him saying his mama killed someone, he was saying he killed the man that everyone thought he was and was finally being himself. 🤷🏻♀️
I think Freddie's sharing the innermost thoughts of a young man in a situation he has little control over that he intends to handle as best he can and we should know he will be okay....realizing 'nothing really matters' as he has the best of intentions.
Now that yall have analyzed these lyrics yall gotta go and watch the short film that was made using the song lyrics as verse in the story. Its a great spin and interpretation of the lyrics
again for the 100th time im requesting anything from the australian band , the angels , if you need examples just ask me . i love all their songs . but america knows little about them . and reasonably recently the lead singer died . and he was an icon here . and i'd love you guys to get to know their music . its really kick ass stuff . promise .
Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 from pneumonia caused by he was diagnosed with Aids. He left us at a very young age. A legend gone way too soon. RIP Freddie
Bohemia is a region in the (I think) current Czech Republic 🇨🇿. Famous for its prestigious glass/Crystal. Apparently there are those who see a connection between this song and its lyrics, with the story of “Faust”, which if I'm wrong/I remember wrong, takes place in that region. Rhapsody (definitions): 1- Broad passage of an epic poem, especially one of Homer's poems, composed of several songs. 2- Musical piece formed with fragments of other works or with pieces of popular airs.
🦋The Most Iconic Queen Song Next To ''We Will Rock You'' & ''We Are The Champions'' In My Opinion. Since Years Have Passed I Can Never Listen To This Song Without Being Reminded Of Freddy's Last Live Performance. Or That Classic Scene In Wayne's World. In Terms Of Any Individual Who Choses That Path In Life. I Agree With Smokey. It's Simply A Dramatization Of Events Written From The Mind Of Freddy Mercury. A Heartfelt Rhapsody Lyrically Illustrated For Us All The See The Other Perspective. Queen Will Always Be In My List Of Favorites. ''White Man,'' ''Long Away'', ''Drowse'', ''You & I'' & ''Teo Torriatte''From The 1976 Album ''A Day At The Races'' & The Ones I Mentioned Above. As Well As This One, Are My Top 8 Favorite Queen Songs. I Recommend 'Queen's ''Drowse'' 2 Be Another Future Queen Reaction. Also Check Out Puscifer's Version Of Bohemian Rhapsody I'm Positive! That Reaction Would Be As Entertaining As This One Guys!
They all wrote their own songs. Did not have a separate writer for them. They were the original real deal! The most four talented guys you will ever run across, formed in one band!
Freddy sang all sort of gender, he was fond of Marie and was his girlfriend for a few years and stayed friend until his death and she is the only one to know where his ashes are? He wrote love of my live for her.
Actually, I would say that these days nobody writes their own songs, unlike back then. Today you've got five people writing one lousy song that even I, with no musical skills, could write myself.
You guys have to check out Robin Trower "Bridge of Sighs", "Too Rolling Stoned" "I Can't Wait Much Longer" Or "Daydream". One of the best 3 piece bands ever. Blues Rock,Funk, Jimmy Hendricks/Pink Floyd vibes. A must listen, any of those tracks, bet you can't do just one.😎✌
Scaramouche was a romance novel written by Raphael Sabitini in 1921 (got the publishing date from the jacket cover). Long time since I’ve read it but Scaramouche was, if I remember correctly, a comedic rapscallion of a character…kind of like the Scarlet Pimpernel. Both old classic novels that should not be forgotten any more than classic music.
TRASH TALKERS You MUST react to PUSCIFER cover of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. It has to be the official music video. Maynard's ACTING will blow your mind. 🤯💯🔥🤞🤞🤞🤞
You guys should check out the version that Pentatonix did of this epic song. Queen is one of my favorite bands growing up in the 80's and Pentatonix really, I believe, did them justice in their rendition!
Bismillah is an Arabic word meaning in the name of God (Freddie's native language was Arabic after all), most of the other 'odd' words are actually names taken from classical stories. Freddie never explained why he wrote this or what it was about, but for me it is a six minute Opera (it is from the "A Night At The Opera" album) and the title is purely descriptive. Bohemian being an attitude to life whereby you do things your way and don't care what anyone else thinks, and Rhapsody being a piece of music with no fixed style (usually made up of several songs or tunes mashed together).
@@Janetjrfan You are correct, but both languages use the Arabic derived "Bismillah" and most people (not Arabic or Parsi) don't need the confusion of pedantically correct comments.
Hey guys it's awesome to see you guys reacting to queen, Freddie Mercury is legendary, even now, no one sings like him,so unique/amazeballs 💖🤘🎶🎸💖🤘🎶🎸 just saying, would love to see a reaction to one vision, awesome song 🤘🎶🤘🎶🤘🎶
Freddie wrote bohemian rhapsody...all four members wrote, they are also the only band which all members wrote #1 songs...the documentary DAYS OF OUR LIVES...better and more accurate of Queen story
If we're analyzing songs then Pink Floyd's Comfterbal Numb is a must. But fair warning it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, every time you hear it.
HI GUYS, SUGGESTION IF YOU JUST WANT A FUN SONG: QUEEN, "FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES BOWL IN 1982 (FOR FREDDIE'S VOCALS IN THEIR PRIME, ANYTHING FROM THIS CONCERT, ACTUALLY... THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG, 1000 TIMES BETTER THAN THE OFFICIAL STUDIO VERSION.) SUGGESTION FOR A "DEEP LYRIC ANALYSIS": QUEEN, "INNUENDO" (CONSIDERED THE 1990s COUNTERPART TO BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY... THERE'S A VERSION OF THE OFFICIAL MV, WITH LYRICS ON-SCREEN)
Don't know if you have heard stuff from them but I think You might enjoy listening to Iron Maiden(The Trooper, Hollowed be thy name, Fear of the dark), they have a great singer and musicians, great concert energy also, they finish the concerts strong almost as if its starting :)
The band seems to be pretty guarded about the meaning of the song with none of the band members really wanting to say definitively what the songs about Freddy refused to comment on what the songs about other than to say relationships while Brian has supported claims that it was about Freddy and his personal traumas while Rodger has said the song is pretty self explanatory with some nonsense in the middle, it seems that to the band the song has a deep meaning but they want you to make of the song what you want
Please show the videos to Queen. Check out the 20 minutes of them at Live Aid. They play snippets of different songs that they had done, it was towards the end of his life they said he was singing and performing only at about 80 percent due to his AIDS virus, but it was incredible he was bisexul, but liked men more.
While Freddie may have been HIV positive when Live Aid happened in 1985, he wasn't diagnosed until 1987. The reason his voice wasn't in top form, he had a throat infection. His doctor told him not to do the show or he could permanently damage his voice. Freddie said that it felt like he was gargling with cut glass when he sang at Live Aid.
Haken is a hell of an underrated Band I discovered with the Cockroach King led me to the Mountain, a brick of a progrock Album. Everything I heard of them is that good , leading to "the Virus" where the Story of the Cockroach King continues. They definetely should givem a listen , I'd bet they'll do a Haken series.
From left to right John Deacon, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, in their early 70's hair ,Brian has still got his (all white now, and starting to thin a bit).
Little Richard was definitively gay! as well as being black and disabled. And strongly influenced by Esquerita who many ppl don't know of. Someone else you might not know was gay is Dusty Springfield. There were MANY openly LGBT blues/jazz musicians in the 1920s upwards: check out Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith. Also check out Lucille Bogan ''shave 'em dry'' from 1935! She was bisexual. Be warned: the song is filthy AF. Billie Holiday also had a relationship with Sister Rosetta Tharpe ( an incredible guitarist, largely written out of history for being black and a woman) though I don't think they were 'out' at the time, and bisexual wasn't a common term then. Alberta Hunter was a lesbian but still forced to be closeted who had hits in the 20's
Due to this possible relationship between the story of Faust (in which a main character is the demon/devil 😈) and what has been said about Bohemia, it is usually believed that, at least from the “operistic” part of this song, what is told It is what happens with the soul of the protagonist, that having killed someone, he should go to hell and he wants to get out of it, how there is a kind of dispute for his soul; and in the rock part it could be the demon that finally kills him. He says to leave... the guitar solo and the music behind that fragment is as if he "ascends" from hell upon being released... But there is definitely no single or unified belief about the meaning of the lyrics and the story told in this mythical song . And whoever could, if they wanted, clarify it, it has been decades since (unfortunately) he is not among us.
What I find funny is so many reactors I watch nowadays try to understand the lyrics and back in the 70s we just enjoyed the music and didn't try to decipher the lyrics.
There was a Glam rocker back in the day named Jobriath.. He technically was the first openly gay Rocker.. But Rob Halford slightly beats Freddie to the title. Both totally Epic in talent.
You are the first person who interpreted this song the same way I did! Can you react to Brighton rock by Queen. The studio version is awesome because of Brian Mays guitar solo!!

Freddie is the greatest frontman of all time. What a talent and great showman as well.
Listen to more music please
I agree buddy
And that’s over 40 years ago and he still is.
Crazy if you think about it.
Just raw talent back in the day.
Freddie was alright . . . . .
but ever heard of ROBERT PLANT???

Next up, react to Queen's Live Aid performance. Absolutely legendary.
Absolutely Live Aid was an example of Freddie's ability to control the crowd. Just points the mic at them and THEY SING.
No matter how much you've heard Queen over the years, the lives always blow you away. Always go with the live version with them.

Some believe the man killing himself is the old Freddie accepting the new Freddie ie. Accepting he was Gay. But it's open to interpretation. Freddie always said it was something and nothing. That it was up to the listener... "if you see it there, then it's there darling".. Freddie Mercury.
Guy on the far right is Roger Taylor, the drummer. He also is a gifted vocalist and sang a lot of the high operatic stuff on this song.
lol - yeah, I was going to answer him too, that the "woman on the far right" is their drummer, Roger Taylor (not Brian May) lol - wait until they see the video for "I Want To Break Free".
Freddie’s family were Parsi Indians ( descended from Zoroastrian Persians who had fled Persia during the Muslim Conquest 1000 years ago, and settled in India)
- but Freddie was born ( birth name: Farrokh Bulsara) in Zanzibar (the island portion of modern-day Tanzania) because his father was a cashier/clerk for the British Colonial authority and had been transferred to Zanzibar.
Freddie was never openly gay. He was openly himself, and that's what made him iconic!
That's because he wasn't gay, he was bi. His one true love was a woman. He took care of her until the day he died.
The first part where he kills a man, he is talking about he told his father he was gay,, and it killed his father
@@michaelbiggs2238maybe?
@@michaelbiggs2238 Freddie never said what the song meant. Never. Anyone who claims differently on here is full of it.
So true. I thought the sake about fighting for his soul and the clown parts. He is an amazing composer writer and performer
“From the brain of Fred” ~Brian May
That intro is all Freddie.
It’s a spiritual battle. The fandango, scaramouch etc could represent the circus like atmosphere in the “justice” system.
They all wrote songs.
Freddie was actually working on three songs when he had the inspiration to combine them into this song that is legend.
Freddie and this song will go down in history as a legend🤘🔥💯
Freddie specifically asked that fans NOT analyze the lyrics of this song. He just wanted people to experience/enjoy it as is.
Thanks for the reaction. Love Queen. Fandango is a Spanish dance. Quite lively!
¡Saludos desde Valencia!
This song is a tribute to the men that died on that ship.)
Michael Martin Murphy - Wildfire
Harry Chapin - Taxi
Patti Smith - Pissing in the River
Pat Benatar - Hell is for Children
Deep Purple - When a Blind Man Cries
Dream Theater - The Ministry of Lost Souls

U2 - Love is Blindness
Depeche Mode - One Caress
Johnny Cash - The Beast in Me
Barbra Streisand - Left in the Dark
Meat Loaf - For Cryin’ Out Loud
Judas Priest - Angel
White Lion - When The Children Cry
Steelheart - She’s Gone
Scorpions - Still Loving You
Rod Stewart - I Don’t Want to Talk About It
Ted Neeley - I Only Want to Know from Jesus Christ Superstar
Just a few suggestions I would love to see you both react to. No matter what you choose I will be looking forward to seeing your reaction. Take care, guys. Peace!!
This song and Queen got a real well deserved bump from being the driving force in the iconic scene from Wayne’s World. Rock on!
One of the very best songs ever..no doubt!!!!
Absolutely agreed on that one, as many other Queen vast catalogue .
As others have stated, a great vocalist for sure; but more importantly a great showman. The greatest front man in the history of rock and roll!
It's cool ya'll found your own meaning in the music. That's what it's all about. I love your reaction. I can't help but think Freddie would love to watch these too. Grateful for all the masterpieces he left us.
You two are adorable. 😍 Btw, Bohemian Rhapsody is a master-piece.
Fun fact: the "Hemp Fandango" is a euphemism for being hanged.
Outside of opera, there are very few singers that can hold a candle to Freddie.
Queen is Freddie Mercury:piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals, John Deacon-bass/some back vocals
That song makes me headbang and cry almost at the same time.
Such a classic. ❤️
Never gets old.
And now...
LET‘S DO THE FANDANGO!!! 😂🤘🏼
God-like…..PERFECT analogy of Freddie Mercury’s voice my friend
Fandango definition: a Spanish dance between two people AND a foolish act 😉 in which murder is a foolish act
Trash Talkers. If you start to analyze songs from the 70, be ready to be surprise. Good job. Guys.
Lesley- An Jones lied about many aspects of Freddie in his so called biography, Freddie never wanted to explain what the song was about.
Freddie loved opera, he recorded with an opera singer...BARCELONA is a good listen and EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE..shows his operatic vocal range..
ya my favorite Queen song has always been death on 2 legs. you guys gotta check it out. lots of love
Want to do a underrated Queen song? Dragon Attack 👌🏻
The order of the members in the picture
John Deacon
Freddie Mercury
Brian May
Roger Taylor
Hey Guys. Love the new analysis format with the focus on lyrics…. I see a whole new world opening up for you….
Freddie was a monster on stage🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Smokey, I think the old school guy you were thinking of was Liberace(phonetically Lib-er-awchi) not Little Richard. Like Rock Hudson, he was one of those "confirmed bachelors".
nice sum up
they say it's also cos he didn't come out at that time,so the gun against his head was his old straight self
bohemian being an alt life style back then,so the story of a boho accepting the way it goes
Check out live Queen - Somebody to Love, 1981 in Montreal
Its a great spin and interpretation of the lyrics
again for the 100th time im requesting anything from the australian band , the angels , if you need examples just ask me . i love all their songs . but america knows little about them . and reasonably recently the lead singer died . and he was an icon here . and i'd love you guys to get to know their music . its really kick ass stuff . promise .
Queen wrote all their own songs.Freddie was the most prolific writer in the band according to information on google. They all wrote number one hits.
Porcupine tree - Russia on ice
Porcupine tree - Anesthetize (Live)
His family was not Arabic but Parsi (an Indian sect) and Persian (Iran), I believe. I could be wrong.
@@Janetjrfan You are correct, but both languages use the Arabic derived "Bismillah" and most people (not Arabic or Parsi) don't need the confusion of pedantically correct comments.
@@trevorgoddard2278 Sorry if I seemed pedantic. I apologize. He used an Arabic word but he was Not Arabic.
This song is: a crime, a confession, trial, and sentencing.
No one knows but the most common thought is its about Freddie himself. He changed his name, in effect killed his old self and rose up.
Hey fellas, love your reactions! Just wanted to let you guys know PUSCIFER does a cover of this legendary song, would love to see you react to it!
Freddie wrote bohemian rhapsody...all four members wrote, they are also the only band which all members wrote #1 songs...the documentary DAYS OF OUR LIVES...better and more accurate of Queen story
You need to listen to green day concert July 2017 where the crowd sing bohemian rapsody
If we're analyzing songs then Pink Floyd's Comfterbal Numb is a must. But fair warning it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, every time you hear it.
HI GUYS,
SUGGESTION IF YOU JUST WANT A FUN SONG:
QUEEN, "FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES BOWL IN 1982
(FOR FREDDIE'S VOCALS IN THEIR PRIME, ANYTHING FROM THIS CONCERT, ACTUALLY...
THIS IS THE BEST VERSION OF THIS SONG, 1000 TIMES BETTER THAN THE OFFICIAL STUDIO VERSION.)
SUGGESTION FOR A "DEEP LYRIC ANALYSIS":
QUEEN, "INNUENDO"
(CONSIDERED THE 1990s COUNTERPART TO BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY... THERE'S A VERSION OF THE OFFICIAL MV, WITH LYRICS ON-SCREEN)
His fans all knew and we all still loved him and Queen
Among the earlier openly gay artists are Freddy, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Sir Elton John
I think either A Perfect Circle or Puscifer did a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. Maynard as usual does an amazing job vocally.
Kayne did a beautiful rendition... 🤡🤮🙄
The most underrated vocal in this is Roger Taylor’s insanely high bit before the rock part hit.
Freddie Mercury Legend❤
Look for Cockroach King from Haken, I simply love it, it's a ride of musicality and I feel it has Queen and Gentle Giant vibes
It’s a 3-part opera. Man kills a man and feels regret. Man goes to trial and feels anger. Man sentenced to death and feel peace.
Please please do "PERSONAL PROMETHEUS" from Puscifer's newest album! Hollywood there is A LOT of Carina in it for you! :)
Now this must be next - Green Day crowd singing Bohemian Rhapsody [live in hyde park 2017]
