Just an all around tight package that’s just a nice little bonus for us fans!
Yeah I heard some complaining about the length but like 10 euro for New lore 2 new peak songs 3 new bosses(one of which is the best in the game) 2 minibosses(one should be a boss tbh) And the best area in the game That sounds like a awesome deal
Back in the time dlcs were free. This one should have been. I am a ff fan and a ff14 vet. I know omega very well and beyond a love letter to the fan that this dlc brought to us, we should always say that we need free content. Yes, it's a gréât dlc but a dungeon and a few gear + skin weapon isn't something worth 10 bucks. Even if the leviathan dlc might deserve compensation we should have it for free too. I could say that balancing and making leviathan eikonic abilities + creating a whole new story deserves our money but yet, I would surprise you saying that unfortunately. A dungeon that doesnt add more than a single lore page is not worth 10 bucks. That is also because of this kind of behaviour that we dont get some kind of "echoes of the fallen" dlc for free anymore. You can disagree with me.

Just having all the ff14 music references made me happy, the entrance to the tower being a new version of the Azys Lla theme and then getting hit with multiple new versions of eScape before and during the omega fight had me blown away.

The OST throughout the entire tower gave me mad nostalgia for a reason I don't even know myself. Its just so emotional. I even stood there for a solid 15 minutes just to take in the music, I LOVE it🥰
It’s mostly mixed and composed of FF 14 tracks, including Omega’s battle theme on the second phase. If you’ve ever played or watched people play 14, that’s why. They did it in a way that’s a little subtle and doesn’t quite make you say “wow they just put that music into 16, and just reused it, annoying”
@@diamantisxiii I didnt play all too much of FF14. Kinda stopped after heavensward. So I dont really recognize the music itself but the emotions Soken intended to portray which make me feel this kinda way, if that makes sense. Music is so fascinating 😄
I believe this first part DLC was like a filler episode to give the fan something while waiting for the next one. I love it very much, next one part with Leviathan has to be huge. There’s no way they’re introducing a new Eikon with just a short quest. Definitely can’t wait for it, hope everyone enjoy this game as much as I do. LOVE LIVE FFXVI!
I will say it was refreshing to have a boss that actually made me use a healing item. most of the bosses in this game are heavily choreographed allowing you to brainlessly precision dodge out of 90% of the damage and block the rest with titan. I think my longest boss fight prior to Omega was bahamut but that was just due to the multitude of cutscenes and phases i feel. This fucker meanwhile took about the same time to kill with next to no cutscenes (about 15-18 minutes) and forced me to use 2 hi potions because i got hit with an attack/combo that dropped me from 3400 to 200. This guy definitely struggled because of his eikon setup though. Unless you're constantly landing permafrost to setup your ultimate which in itself requires shiva you are not going to be finding many opportunities to build up zantestuken for the level 5 spam you need to make odin viable. Definitely the cursed combo of titan passive and ramuh skills with thunderbolt and lightningbolt since Ramuh passive is shit against this boss and titan skills while they have super armor will get you killed by the AoE around you as it barrels you into the boss with no way to stop. next up is shiva because... shiva. think of every perfect dodge you do in this encounter and just get good at doing the harder version as you permafrost every melee hit giving you easily 2 minutes of frozen boss for you to just lay into him. Mesmerize is absolutely broken against this boss as he falls under the category of too damn big giving you an easy way to land all 6 instances of its pull for 12 total hits, making it actually do the same damage as some ultimates while being on one of the lowest cooldowns in the game, i normally run pile drive with it since i dont like to make seperate loadouts but if you want to min max this fight you should realistically add titan's ultimate because if you hit this thing long ways you're getting off easily 8 instances of damage usually amounting to around 25k. finally last is actually odin. with permafrost setup you will ALWAYS have free ults giving you level 5 zantesukens on cooldown with no issue. as previously mentioned, pick up odin ult and for the second skill i recommend is rift slip. it's not offensive in itself but it is a time slow/stop that can be used at any point as an oh shit button or at the end of a combo to go right into another one without the ending lag.
I've never seen your streams before but this was a lot of fun. I watched your other FFXVI videos after, too. Thanks for sharing! also your parries in this fight were CRACKED lol

@@huey515the person who did the ost for this game, Soken, also did music for 14, so that's why the Titan and Omega themes shares cues from their 14 incarnations
I'm so glad you pay so much attention to the music. I do the same. Heck, I play FF as much to HEAR it as I do to SEE it. There's a reason why Soken won the award for Best Score/Music. The DLC music was incredible.
Most amazing thing was beating this boss during the DPS check at the end, audibly saying "OH MY GOD" once he died, and obtaining the achievement "OMG" (Omega) at the exact same time I really love CBU3
I remember playing through the dungeon portion, even before getting to the end. I knew who I was going up against because the clues are all there in the logo.... And then I hear the melody of eScape in the dungeon theme SOKEN! YOU GOT ME AGAIN!

Great work man, I feel your pain, I haven't fought omega weapon on FF16 yet but I am playing through the game on Final Fantasy mode at the moment, so just unlocked the quest for echoes of the fallen, looking forward to fighting Omega once again very soon
No WONDER I was getting my ass kicked the first time! I'm so used to playing Kingdom Hearts myself - twenty year veteran here - that I was trying to treat this MF like Ansem from the first game!
I have to say as a gamer I just love how you appreciate good video game soundtracks. The emotional intensity and experience of the game is greatly enhanced when the soundtrack is awesome. FFXVI has some beautiful compositions. I mean absolutely beautiful! I love watching your streams as well. They’re so awesome!!!
Oh man, glad to see that Omega is as much of a pain on Action-Focused mode as it is on Final Fantasy mode. I was down to 2 potions and 1 elixir for the whole fight, so it took me a full hour and around 20 attempts
In terms of spectacle, I think Bahanut is still the best fight in the game. However, in terms of gameplay and challenge, Omega has become ny favourite fight in this game. He destroyed me, but every single time I learned something new about the fight. I felt like a beast when I finally defeated Omega. Leviathan, I'M READY!!!
Goofy name for a trophy, but FUCKING A, this boss is a reaction test to the extreme! If you dunno the timing to his Hyperextension or High Maneuvers attack, that shit gives you a game over 90% of the fucking time!
I love your content and your energy! The last boss was absolutely thrilling and I'm glad you made it in time :) just finished the DLC on Hard Mode (first time) and Omega was really something different! Probably my favorite boss fight in the entire game. And the music ... Soken is a god, a worthy successor of Uematsu.
I'd definitely say "Short but sweet" is the best way to describe this dlc. The quantity of new content is a tad light (considering the turnaround for this though its still impressive), but its some of the highest quality stuff in the game. I really hope they continue with this kind of difficulty and off-the-wall insanity in future add-ons. Also really appreciated delving more into the lore.
Your parries against the High Maneuvers move were so sick. I didn't use Titan against him when i beat him, but your playthrough makes me want to replay Omega and use Titan.
I did this fight the other day and i managed to catch omega's high maneuvers attack with both Shiva's Cold Snap to get Permafrost and free damage and Titan's Raging Fists with the perfectly timed block. Beyond. Hyped.
I remember having a moment in that hanger room where I just sat there and took in the view over rosalith, teared up when I realized man... THIS is the final dungeon we never got, with ALL 4 of us together too, I seriously expected one short romp throughout whatever the hell origin was but they threw us straight in, stonehyrr was the last area but it never quite felt like it yknow? All the bosses were so fun though esp Omega and the reactions too, already watched live but leaving a like just to do my part o7 haha
Can't wait for this game to come to PC, it's going to pop off so hard on max settings. Also glad to find another FFXIV enjoyer that also loves the music!
Loved watching your reactions for the entire series. I personally feel this game was SEVERELY under rated and deserves far more recognition than it got and it was refreshing to see someone else feel as passionately as i did about it. But i do have to ask are you planning on playing rise of tides? I will say it is well worth it every second.
This fight is insane, played it on ff mode earlier, and would've lost if i hadn't used the final elixir. Probably my second favorite fight in the game (i don't think anythings beating the Bahamut fight, but this one comes close!)
In terms of Clive gameplay, this is the best. But nothing will ever beat the hype of titan bahamut and Odin fights for me. And the final boss too. But pure gameplay? This is the best boss fight for sure. I can’t wait to see what they do with leviathan
I will offer this: Use Lightning Rod w/ Giga Flare to boost attack damage multiplier When attacked, Lightning Rod sends out a severe damage pulse to enemies.
Funnily enough, I DIDN'T use Lightning Rod and Gigaflare against Omega. I just used Impulse, Rising Flames, Diamond Dust, Proselityze, Rift Slip and Will-o' the Wykes while using Garuda, Shiva and Ultima. If you can utilize a perfect combo, that shit will DRAIN a Will Gauge like NUTS. A good mix of midair and ground combat, and if you can time the Rift Slip midair, it gives you more reaction time to dodge.
So I traditionally have never been great at action rpgs. As good as combat is in the FF7 remake, I constantly try forgot simple things like stance changing and whatnot. This is said so more context can be given for my saying the fight against Omega, while quite challenging, is also by far my favorite boss fight in any action rpg. He’s not super tough once you have a handle on the timing and range of his attacks, but more than the gameplay itself I was blown away by the music and sounds. Now that I’m playing through in Final Fantasy mode I cannot flippin wait to challenge this guy again.
But in terms of this fight, I had to use Shiva. Without her Cold Snap I would’ve kept getting hit by his High Maneuver dash. And if you freeze him with in when passing by you it also freezes the flames around Omega. Super cool to look at loo
Final note. The dps check at the end to best enrage was epic. Reminded me of Hades and Endsinger in FF14, though their normal versions weren’t nearly as tight as Omega’s was here.
I was level 101 and managed to beat him on my 2nd attempt. Possibly the hardest boss on this game to date. I think they did a fantastic job on this DLC with the music and the architecture of the spire. Straight 10/10 for me and I hope the Rising Tide is gonna be the same type of hype
I got omega in one go on ng+ but damn, I went into the fight only down one high potion, used everything I had minus the revival item during the fight. My build is a lot of ultimates so I can take advantage of their time stop stuff, and I got really good during ng+ at using limit break to iFrame through damage. But damn this guy made me give it all I had. I think Ultima in one go is probably harder, but omega hits like a monster truck.
Loved the dlc, even though it objectively didn't feels worth 10€, but well considering skin prices maybe it is xP. But that first shot when entering the tower felt like Paris if the eifel tower dtretched over it 🤣 also Really love the panorama view from one of the higher floors, really helped me sorting out where certain stuff in rosaria was and the scale of ifrit vs Phönix. Also, there is a very similar optional dungeon in final fantasy 14 🤣 which is made by the same dev team, just saying. 👀
@@RetroTSSoS yea...maybe but most are still more work. Most assets of the dlc are copied from the base game (what isn't an inherit bad thing) and the story is basically non existent, just serving as plot device to let you fight Omega. Basically ending up in 3/4 boss fights, 2 weapons and a few accessories in total for 10€ (I'm happy with said price but i can see how objectively it is really short on content 🤷♂️) maybe an omega skill set or an tower mode (like Yoshua teases at the end of the story) could have helped in letting it feel more worth
JC, been a big fan since Black Ops 3 and loving the content ever since. Have you ever considered playing Returnal, some of the mechanics of this fight reminded me of Returnal fights, and that game is SO amazing, not to mention you sounded pretty hype about the GOW-rogue-like DLC, and Returnal is a rogue-like as well
@JCbackfire you going to play final fantasy mode, dont know if you are aware, but level cap is increased, and you get better versions of the weapons you have collected, like omega weapon attack is 750. Id like to see you do a playthrough for ff mode that be sick.
"It's constricting all of creation" "WHAT DOES IT MEAN" He's losing the match so he's reaching to yank the ethernet cable on you. Pretty fair safeguard when it's built to fight a god who'll erase you if you lose. Mutually assured destruction incarnate. :V
if you are running Bahamut......Impulse is a MUCH better ability for this fight and shredding down Omega's stagger bar. At least that is what worked for me.
DEFINITELY. I got my ass handed to this man 7 fucking times going into it blind! And I thought fighting Ultima was difficult - this machine is a freaking BASTARD to put down!
The majority of this game is mind-numbing missions and side quests that start feeling like a chore the longer I played. It actually got so bad that I legitimately fell ASLEEP a couple of times. Don't get me wrong, there are missions that are decent, the boss fights are phenomenal, and the characters are great, but I just lost wind and interest by the third half of the game. 6 or 7 out of 10 for me.

As of right now I’m going to say yes, but Omega has been known to be one of the super bosses from older Final Fantasy games so as far as I remember
And don’t forget your omega weapon Reforged in Final Fantasy mode is identical to Ultima weapon
Can't wait for this game to come to PC, it's going to pop off so hard on max settings. Also glad to find another FFXIV enjoyer that also loves the music!
Hopefully it runs well 💀 it can barley handle walking regularly combat is fine though
This game has fantasy harp and Drum and Bass. That’s why this is my favorite game.
the omega fight was epic!!!
I will offer this:
Use Lightning Rod w/ Giga Flare to boost attack damage multiplier
When attacked, Lightning Rod sends out a severe damage pulse to enemies.
Never would have imagined that I'd see a bullet hell shmup style of superboss fight in Final Fantasy. Holy smokes.
Epic boss fight. Final phase gave me the most trouble. You have to attack fast.
Now do it on Final Fantasy mode. I did it blind on Final fantasy difficulty around level 90 and it was decently hard, but really not too bad
I did it at level 86 it wasn’t too bad bro almost one shot me though
I Did it on Final fantasy mode 1st try😊
@@pepopapi386 same
I was level 101 and managed to beat him on my 2nd attempt. Possibly the hardest boss on this game to date. I think they did a fantastic job on this DLC with the music and the architecture of the spire. Straight 10/10 for me and I hope the Rising Tide is gonna be the same type of hype
Loved watching this and your reaction to it. This game truly is PEAK
No lie I was in the same boat as you last second kill I love it
I remember when I beat omega on final fantasy mode it was epic and hard but my gosh was it fun and am ready for the other dlc hype
The term “Magitek” is mostly used in FF 6 if I’m not mistaken.
I love this game so much. My GOTY
Ngl this fight is an authorized pogface. It is so stupid and epic at the same time, I grinned the entire fight, it was so good
when is the video for the new DLC coming up??
Now go try to beat him in final fantasy mode..took me many many tries..super tough boss right here..by far toughest in the game
And now imagine that the next FF MMO will get raid bosses like this😅
Thanks for the PEAK emotions btw, dude)
Loved the dlc, even though it objectively didn't feels worth 10€, but well considering skin prices maybe it is xP. But that first shot when entering the tower felt like Paris if the eifel tower dtretched over it 🤣 also Really love the panorama view from one of the higher floors, really helped me sorting out where certain stuff in rosaria was and the scale of ifrit vs Phönix.
Also, there is a very similar optional dungeon in final fantasy 14 🤣 which is made by the same dev team, just saying. 👀
I mean $10 is cheaper than a movie ticket and this dlc is way better than 90% of movies out these days
@@RetroTSSoS yea...maybe but most are still more work. Most assets of the dlc are copied from the base game (what isn't an inherit bad thing) and the story is basically non existent, just serving as plot device to let you fight Omega. Basically ending up in 3/4 boss fights, 2 weapons and a few accessories in total for 10€ (I'm happy with said price but i can see how objectively it is really short on content 🤷♂️) maybe an omega skill set or an tower mode (like Yoshua teases at the end of the story) could have helped in letting it feel more worth
was 7.99 Pounds here in the UK great price personally, the music the fights, was awesome :) but seeing that crater on the high floor was like whoa
Who would offer the better fight?
The god who created and now want to remake the world?
Or
one metal boi
Omega is DEFINITELY the harder of the two. Ultima can be cheesed with Titan and Shiva, but you can't pull that kinda shit with an Eikonoklaste.
JC, been a big fan since Black Ops 3 and loving the content ever since.
Have you ever considered playing Returnal, some of the mechanics of this fight reminded me of Returnal fights, and that game is SO amazing, not to mention you sounded pretty hype about the GOW-rogue-like DLC, and Returnal is a rogue-like as well
I f'n loved this fight.
Even the tower sounds sad and amazed that omega got defeated.
“Omega control unit……offline….”
@JCbackfire you going to play final fantasy mode, dont know if you are aware, but level cap is increased, and you get better versions of the weapons you have collected, like omega weapon attack is 750. Id like to see you do a playthrough for ff mode that be sick.
Waiting for your rising tide video❤
JC we need a reaction to the latest trailer announcement! ;)
WTF? Why am I in the first 10 sec of the video and see only lough for few boss move sets? LOL!
The reaction at 1:13:41 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I just love it 😁😁
I can't wait to do this fight but with leviathan
"It's constricting all of creation"
"WHAT DOES IT MEAN"
He's losing the match so he's reaching to yank the ethernet cable on you. Pretty fair safeguard when it's built to fight a god who'll erase you if you lose. Mutually assured destruction incarnate. :V
Does a grand total of 0 damage 20 seconds into the fight
"So far so good"
I kid. Youre really good at those precision blocks.
im glad to see others panic at the dsp check just as much as i did.
1:12:55
JC: ODIN, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!
Odin: 😑
if you are running Bahamut......Impulse is a MUCH better ability for this fight and shredding down Omega's stagger bar. At least that is what worked for me.
I loved this game and I liked this DLC, but I liked the Leviathan DLC better!:) Have you played it yet! It's fun!
Any chance we get a leviathan video from you❤😮
This boss fight on FF mode is fucking insane 😳
DEFINITELY. I got my ass handed to this man 7 fucking times going into it blind! And I thought fighting Ultima was difficult - this machine is a freaking BASTARD to put down!
I still don’t understand how this game wasn’t nominated for GOTY😮
Alan mid 2 stole the spot
@@JimmyJones-i4x but BG 3 won somehow (I personally think it was a terrible game)💀
I wonder when JC is gonna do Rising Tide lol
Did you played new game plus or not ? There you get the omega weapon with 700 700 stats just like ultima blade
