In 2005 my wife and I took our honeymoon on the Norwegian Star. I saw this routine in person and it still chokes me up. I watch it when I'm feeling sad about the world and it reminds me of all the wonder and mystery there is to behold. Thank you so very much for a treasured memory.
My wife and I were lucky to celebrate our first anniversary in 2008 on the same ship and liked Shawn's routine so much we went to it twice. I still link friends to this video any time magic comes up in conversation as an example of the best slight of hand artistry I've ever seen. Even if you knew how every single one of the tricks was executed, it is always a treat to watch the sheer marathon of tricks executed and with such incredible smoothness every single time. It's fun to know that this is a memory I'll be telling people about when I'm 80.

I've been here 100+ times. The sleight of hand is unbelievable. Just dropped down here to the comment section this time to request if it's possible to see an HD version of it someday? Not from this particular performance, but maybe a new one..? I mean, I know all the tricks in this one, so it's not about it, but rather about the fact that this is so beautiful visually yet so low in video quality after 10 years.
When it comes to cards I truly look to real masters like Richard Turner, Lennart Green, Martin A Nash and Roy Walton. I'm sure you will find video of all of them on UA-cam.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shawn at the Southeast Magicians gathering in ATL, Sept 2012. He did those same illusions within INCHES of me as I stood in the hall at the convention center...including the "cards-out-of-the-mouth" effect. Stupefying..and he is a absolute prince, to meet. Showman and gentleman.
I saw him in australia. Tons of Magicians from all over the world back in July. Shawn, if you're reading, this trick was the highlight of the night and that's saying something. Best magic show ever.

This is probably the best magic trick I've ever seen. Not because it's dazzling or I am fooled, but because it is a mix of incredible skill that certainly was practiced for hours and hours and hours and with that skill, a story. This is basically art, I feel an emotion of beauty, of awe while watching that thanks Shawn.

I am blown away each time I watch another video of yours. Like everything, there are levels one achieves in their profession...even in magic. A Master Magician the world has a few here and there sure, but the Master that can smile, actually enjoy their work and others work is a cut above, and you have that. Teller is another, smiling during your trick like he did when he was a child I am sure. USA East Coast tour would be awesome.

Truly a beautiful routine. As a professional musician who loves to play some difficult pieces of music (unfortunately limited by my skill level), it's easy to recognize the "trick" is the unbelievable natural talent combined with hours of daily practice. That's the thing that makes it spectacular.....there's no gimmick to learn, just an insane level of hard work required to be able to make it look that effortless.

My 9th grade biology teacher shared this video with us one day and i remember being absolutely enthralled by this routine. I had the song on my iPod and would think of this when it came up on shuffle. Almost 16 years later (oof), an artist i follow made a cover of the song and the memory came flooding back. Still too this day my favorite trick of all time! truly beautiful trick Shawn. must have seen this trick 100 times. i would love to copy it and change it and show you the video
My 9th grade biology teacher shared this video with us one day and i remember being absolutely enthralled by this routine. I had the song on my iPod and would think of this when it came up on shuffle. Almost 16 years later (oof), an artist i follow made a cover of the song and the memory came flooding back. Imagine my surprise seeing you're still running this trick, just months ago!

I just saw Shawn at the World Magic Seminar close up show and he DESTROYED the audience and even that is an understatement. Shawn, I am a very social magician, Things I can do with friends, spur of the moment, random card tricks, that kind of thing. This trick is just BEAUTIFUL. This kind of showmanship is the reason I love magic so much. Just amazing. I do not even know where to begin to understand everything you did, even as a magician, I don't want to know! I know several false cuts and shuffles, you just had me lost in the music and the show. Bravo!

DUDE!!! i just cant get enough of this trick. Its beautifully executed and the music that goes with it is just perfect. It instantly reminded me of a man i saw on the worlds greatest magic waaaay back when Rene Lavand. just the fact that the music the ambience and the slight of hand go so wonderfully together. Shawn i first watched you on penn and teller fool us (this is when i first started as an amateur magician) i was truly amazed and since then i have been watching your videos you have really inspired me to go on, i am now doing magic at an intermediate/advanced level, and have came up with my own method of the trick that you done on penn and teller fool you are one of my idols, i would love to meet you one day, oh and btw i am 13..
