Sarah - your gentle spirit and humor are always so refreshing and appreciated. I believe we would all be bored if everyone liked one style furniture, one type vehicle, one architectural style home, one style and color clothing, etc. I definitely would not 'fit' in that type existence. I never had to 'think outside the box' - I never acknowledged the box existed. I appreciate and admire our diverse options. Your personality is endearing. I always smile when you remove the base from a piece and create a new, gorgeous, sleek base. In my mind that is powerful.
Ahhh I love that “I never knew the box existed!” Ahhh I want to li e my life that way!
So grateful for you! I 💯 smile the whole way thru our little conversations 😍
😊Sarah, just INCREDIBLE!!!! You take an "UGLY DUCKLING" and turn it into a "WORK OF ART"!!!!
Ahhh thank you 🥰
I love to hear the stories behind the furniture it brings life and history to the piece.
Ahhh thanks Dawn well I’ll keep them coming 🥰
To bring back an old piece and give it a new life is awesome!!! I love that pieces can be handed down and continue living. I hate for good things to trashed when a talented person can save them!!!
Charlotte I couldn’t agree more bringing something back to life for more years of use is such a joy and dream for me! Appreciate you 🥰
Your stories are part of the uniqueness of your channel. You forgot to say “let’s get into it”.
Oh no did I 😂 appreciate what you said about the stories…I do love to tell a good one 😍😊
Sarah you're so bubbly and funny!! You're a very unique, beautiful soul. Just know we all appreciate all the hard work you put into your furniture and your videos. You're always teaching and motivating... We love you!! ♥️
Ahhh Brittny 🥹🤗🥰 thank you so kind of you to say that! Been feeling a little stressed lately so when you say that it really does make my day 🥰
Being the old lady that I am...I always believed that painting wood was sacrilegious. I'm growing on the idea of painting furniture as I have a piece that I want to make over. After watching a lot of your videos, I've almost worked up the nerve to give it shot.
just a hopefully helpful tip from a fellow subscriber ..if you shellac your piece either spray or brush on thin coat…then paint…if you change your mind later the paint will come off much easier. I have watched a couple UA-cam channels remove chalk paint and (without that tip) and didn’t seem too difficult at all. Happy creating😊kim
I'm also an old lady who fought against painting wood for years. But......now I know there are pieces who need painting. And I paint wood pieces when I can't restore the original. And I love them when they're finished. Old dogs can learn new tricks. Lol
Ahhh Saggio this is so lovely of you to say!!!! Appreciate you!
Sarah, I like all your ideas on remake of these dressers. I especially like it when you leave old bases and just rethink them to natural wood or painted. Imo, putting these top heavy peices on legs makes them look like a flipper got over zealous. Lol, but either way I simply love your work. I'm getting so many ideals from your channel. It's no wonder you have over 10,000 subs.Thank you for what you do.
Ahhh thank you 😊 that you would say that makes my day! I was thinking of possibly putting a base on my piece I’m starting today…may have to rethink it 😆😉 but seriously I need to make sure the heavy dresser can be supported by a new base.
Lovely! I'm glad you put the door back. It looks more finished. Good color choices. I am so looking forward to the Ugly Duckling!!!!!!
Yeah I agree with you Gail definitely looks more finished! Can’t wait to see everyone’s pieces Sunday! So much fun.
If I had to vote on what I’d like to see more of, I love the pieces you do with all the texture and dripping and layers. I’d love to see more of that!
But I really enjoy all your videos.
Ooooo Jen you are speaking my language. I was just thinking about that drippy piece the other day!!!
From pink to distressed with huge transfer to white... I never know what's coming next 🤣🤣🤣. My all time favourite of yours is the red boho dresser. I love it to bits and you made it look effortless 🧡🧡🧡
Ahhh you are a treasure. Have to say that was so fun to do. Should do another like it!!!
Look so forward to Saturday when I can watch your videos. You encourage me to step up on my design choices. I thank you for being a good teacher, artist and inspiration!
Patricia!!! You rock thank you 🥰 certainly blessed by you saying that. Thank you ❤️
Sarah…I never miss a chance to tune in and watch you do your magic on these beautiful pieces! I agree door on was right on this one…Love the white and natural together…love the stories…you are great fun …until next week my friend❣️thank you for sharing 😊kim
Kimberly THANK YOU 🥰 always appreciate your encouragement. Love that you agree that it’s better with the door! White looks so fresh ❤️
I agree, the door was needed to make it look more finished! BRAVO! I want to see more boho color and looks.
Ooo you are my people!! Love boho. Will plan a piece or two for sure!
Sarah I agree with you sometimes the door just needs to stay. It is beautiful. I love the how this goes so well together. It just flows.
Ahhh thank you Michele
From boring to fresh and beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing
Love the white with white washed wood! You have such great ideas for your furniture. I love your furniture stories. Blessings, Kim.
Ahhh thanks Kim on both fronts. Started with the base and then the drawers. At that point I needed something up top with natural and sanding back the whole top would have been a lot 😂 so I comprised with just the edge 🥰
Just beautiful! I think you made the right choice putting the door back on. All that hard work really shows!
I look forward to your smiley face! Xxx
Thanks Amy-Jane I agree it was just missing something with out the door! Appreciate you
You are a wonderful lady. I truly love your channel. You are such a loving, generous spirited person. It would be a joy to watch even if you didn't do awesome work. These pieces are incredible. So lovely. God bless you and your family.
Sue 😮🥰 thank you seriously blessed by you. Having a bit of a tough week so your encouragement is just making my day 🥰
Oh so pretty. I love that you didn't leave the whole top natural. Great choice 😊
I did think about it but wanted something different 😂
You never disappoint Sarah. The people who purchase your pieces are so lucky. Thanks for another GREAT video. Excited for next weeks Ugly Duckling! Enjoy your week sweet lady! 💜
JoAnn you are just the best 🥰 Humbled you would say that. Been a bit slow lately but hoping it picks up again soon 🥰 wishing you a fantastic week
I love how you’re able to transform these dinosaurs 🦕. I always overlook these but you’re inspiring me to possibly bring one home one day maybe lol. Great work Sarah!
Hehehe love that you call them dinosaurs 🦖😂 they really are fun to makeover. Haven’t done a new base in a while may have to do that on the next one 😊
It's a beautiful set, I love the combination of paint and wood. See you Sunday for the ugly duckling challenge, they're my favorite as everyone challenges themselves so much!
Thanks Angel 🥰 I love the UD for that reason as well. So much fun!
Congratulations again on your 10,000+ subscribers! You deserve every one of us. I love everything you do, but it's your personality that draws me in the most. Describing how you are going to use white wax while swinging the brush around in circles just puts the biggest smile on my face. Love your passion, and your animation! You go girl!!
Hehehe well thanks friend 🥰 you know it’s not till later when editing I realize all the silly things I do 😂😂 love it that your laughing along with me.
Also appreciate your support and kindness saying that about reaching 10k 😳😊 still puts a huge smile on my face.
Fantastic work again Sarah and I love the stories behind getting each piece because it somehow makes the experience even more real watching (we've all got stories about buying something secondhand!) I'd actually love to see you maybe get a few pieces and mix and match the bits like legs from one to the other, handles moved around etc. It would be a great challenge and show how to think outside the box and save money, I know a lot of people have difficulty visualising what a piece could turn out like but I maintain it just takes practice once you can see how it's done! Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us 🥰
Margaret have to say this sounds like a fabulous video idea. Will add it to the list of pieces to do. Thank you 🥰
Glad you love the stories! I do love to tell a good story. Sometimes the craziest things happen and you’re right it just makes the piece having your story behind it 🥰 hope you are well.
Love the light colored wood with the pure white. Very elegant looking.
I don’t know if you have ever worked your magic on a vintage sewing cabinet. I have my grandmothers old treadle machine and cabinet that is over 100 years old with very bad veneer on the top. I’m tempted to leave as is before painting but not sure. Would like to see how you would refinish one similar. You do such nice work and I really enjoy watching and listening as you work. 💗
I have made over sewing cabinet but none like what you described 🥰 I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on one!
I’m glad you liked these pieces Laurie. Appreciate you
I’m so glad you put the door back on. Much better plane. Awesome makeover Sarah ❤
You’re so right Judy! Much better now 🥰 appreciate you as always
The dresser and nightstand are beautiful. It was good seeing the dresser without and with the door. I like it better with the door too. You gave me an idea for a couple of unfinished chairs that I had purchased to go with a small kitchen barn wood table my son made for me. The white wax could be an option versus a white wash on the unfinished chairs. We will decide. Thank you!
Aw Sarah I love what you created with this piece ...soooo beautiful 😍
Denise 🥰🥰🥰 thank you grateful you think so
It really turned out great Sarah. It is a big piece, the right person will come along 😊
Ah thanks Debra 🥰
Well that is my cup of tea ☕️
It looks awesome 🤩
So bright and fresh.
Hehehe yay I’m glad!
This piece looks great. I love how you did the white paint and natural wood with white wax. Good call on putting the door back on. And Sarah I like hearing the stories.
Ahh and I just like you! Thanks Nichele for the encouragement. I agree leaving the door off would have left me with sleepless nights knowing something was missing.
I’ll keep the stories coming 🥰
Love the stories, don't stop telling them. This is gorgeous. It looks like it should have been that way all along. I love it
Ahhh thanks lovely 🥰 appreciate that. It’s so funny starting pieces cause (at least it’s this way for me) your never 💯 sure if it’s “going to work out”
M always relieved when I haven’t made it worse 😂
Looks fab Sarah. I love the hardware. it's stunning
Emer 🥰 thank friend
It's stunning as always and like always I look forward to seeing your videos turning a piece and giving it life a better one. can't wait for the next challenge I know you will do an amazing job!!
Stay blessed and healthy 😊
Ahhh sending you virtual hugs! Thanks for that. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s pieces Sunday. The ugly duckling is my favourite challenges of the year ☺️
Elegant! Great video! Thank you for sharing this transformation with us.
Thanks so much Anita 🥰
nice work Sarah. your creativity is always enjoyable to watch. I might have liked to have the rails between the drawers "washed" with wax or the top instead of paint. I feel ya, when you have a plan and there is just "something" that needed, you got to do it. the door does look great on it..as always stay awesome
Thank you Neal. Love that idea about the drawers. Will have to give that a go! I agree about the doors better on for sure. Hope you’re doin fab 🥰
Hi from Colorado. The stories make it even more fun! This is stunning! I love the natural trim and base. I think this is one of my favorites.
Ahhh so good Dee 🥰 I went to Colorado with my dad once when I was a teen. We visited the ranch he worked on when he was young! So beautiful there
That came out just gorgeous, Sarah.. as always!! I can't wait to see what you will be doing tomorrow. I can't think of anything that I'd like to see you do just yet. I love everything you put your hands to and they literally always come out beautifully! Have a lovely day! 😊
Lori 😍😍😍 thank you. You’ve blown me away. Sorry for the date mix up where you talking about the ugly duckling? That’s this coming Sunday 🥰
Always grateful for any input if you think of anything let me know 🥰
It is such a pleasure watching your videos every Saturday. The piece turned out lovely and so fresh. And the little nightstand is very cute.
Thank you Sarah and have a fantastic weekend 😍
Thanks Barbara this means a lot. Hope you’re having a great week 🥰
Hi Sarah. You teach us so much about refreshing furniture!💕 However, I’m a bit confused about some of the styles you mention-maybe others are, too. Perhaps you would include some explanations about style types-such as farmhouse, country, costal, cottage core, vintage, mid-century modern, etc. Thanks for your inspiration.
Sure that sounds like something I could do…maybe a style series! Appreciate you CeCe 🥰
I Really Love the White and wood ..and those Pulls are So pretty....And Congratulations Again for your 10k ..You are An Awesome and talented Furniture Artist and friend..I'm In Love with this Simple But Beautiful White and wood ...I would Love to See a Totally Aimed towards Girly Frilly style ..Like Gold leaf and a transfer....Total Feminine girly Vibe 🥰❤️❤️💯🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ooo I like your thinking Debra 🥰 total glam piece would be fun. I’ll have to channel my inner Kacha 😍
Always appreciate your kindness and support friend 🥰
Love this! The stories around each piece make the experience more intimate, I think. Very beautiful and looking forward to Sunday! xoxo
Can't wait to see your piece Sunday Cat!! I agree the stories make the experience!
I do like this piece! I was afraid when you said you were going to show some of the wood. I was afraid you were going to distress. This looks so classic and sharp. Great job!
Ahhh thank you Barbara. Just wanted a classic look for this one nothing crazy 😉😊🥰
Loved this one! Looks amazing! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you! It was a fun one...like doing things a little different from the norm
Something with wallpaper? Love your vision-always. Thanks again for another great reveal of your vision for a piece.
You bet I’d love to get something totally out of the box 🥰
These turned out gorgeous Sarah! I'm looking for the perfect piece to do a white/cerused transformation on. You nailed it! When I find it I'll be back to watch again. Are you planning to sell these? I bet they go really quickly! 😍
Ahhh I can’t wait for that video! Love the white/cerused look! Didn’t even have that in mind when I was doing it 😂 you are a joy my friend!
I’m pretty sure that I can take the liberty of saying that ALL of us love you too 🤗🥰
hehehe thank you 😍
The music that's playing in the background at one point was sounding very like Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. Chanelling your inner Stevie Nicks there?? I did burst into "Listen to the wind blow, watch the sunrise." Still in the middle of watching.
Yes!!! You know I love her! Anytime I can channel my inner Stevie is a good day 😂😉
And the fact that you burst into that song just made my day…guess what I will be blaring on the way home! #kidsaregettinganeducationinREALmusic 😂
@@VintageAndPainted Yassss. Couldn't educate them better. Good on ya.
Sarah...you make me laugh. You were so giddy at the beginning of the video...while I'd like to tell you that I'm "new" that'd be a lie...I'm 70! Oh dear, bad joke!! Once again you have rescued a decidedly ugly 1970's dresser and made it just beautiful. Nicely done, you. Great vision. I honestly don't know how you can look beyond the ugly! We bought ours brand new and after about a year I wanted it gone but it took 7 more years until I got it out the door...phew! Thank you for your hard work and sharing your vision! Have a lovely week! 🌻
Kathryn you crack me up! Hope you are also having a lovely week 🥰
I love these pieces they make me think outside the box or regret the day I started work on them 😆😂
Absolutely gorgeous. I love it 🤎🤍
Ahhh Kim you are a fave thank you 🥰
Oh I love it! I feel like Sometimes you're too hard on yourself hun. You are good at what you do, trust your instincts. 🖤
Ahhh you know me! I really am 😳 grateful you spot that and encourage me to chill 😆 I sometimes need the reminding.
I’m happy you like it Amayrani
You always do a nice job. You are creative and you have a natural talent for color and design.
Well I appreciate that Rosalie. I’m kind stuck at the moment on a piece but have decided to leave it and move on to another till I have a better idea
It feels very light and airy for such a heavy dresser ! Bravo !
I wonder : would you consider mix your own colored wax with the Annie Sloan products, for instance ? I think you could imagine a lot of interesting and gorgeous finishes and color combinations mixing the clear wax with some paint. I am very curious of what you would come up with !
(I am considering repainting a chair in burgundy and pink scandinavian wax . Still on the fence about it. ;-)
Congrats again on your 10k !!!
Laurence that sounds fantastic. You know I almost did that with a piece I was doing last week but with DIY paint bohemian blue and clear wax. It was for the green flip off but ended up thinking the piece was good the way it was. I would like to try it tho!
Looking forward to your video tomorrow. Can't wait.
Thanks Gail 🥰🥰
My cuppa, Miss Sarah. I love it! Another awesome piece 👏!
Ahhh I’m so glad Patricia 🥰
OH, Sara she’s Cinderella! Amazing job love!❤
Ah thanks Valorie
Oh Sarah😮it looks really nice and lovely. Well done!👍🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Teresa 🥰 appreciate you saying that 🥰
I think this is simply beautiful. I'm down for whatever style you paint. Have you tried all of the ones you wanted to so far?
Ahhh Jacqlyn 🥰 thanks friend. I think so. I think I’d like to try another texture look like the pottery barn one I did. I did a hot pink one…totally out of my comfort zone 😉
I would love to see how you do a Queen Anne, one of those really red pieces. Their color change is always so dramatic.
Ill have to see if I come across one 🤞
Hi ya Sarah. ❤️❤️ Everything you did to this piece and nightstand 👍
Don’t Stop being You ❤️❤️ Ya Girl !
Can’t Wait to See what your going to do in the challenge
Have an Awesome day 😊
Ondina 🥰🥰🥰 you are the BEST.
I’ll tell you it was heavily influence by Australia 🇦🇺😂😍😍 😉
Nerts! Going to be a horse show mom next Sunday. Will have to watch later in day.
Ahhh all good. A horse show mom sounds fun!!
Turned out very nicely ❤
Thanks Angel 😍
Wow love that looks beautiful! I was going to ask you about adding in to your videos if and when you sell the pieces. Always find it interesting to know what sells and how long it takes even though we are in different countries it’s still interesting xx
Ahhh thanks Joanne! Will try to add more of the sales side to the videos.
My travel entertainment. Beautiful piece my friend
Ahhh thanks lovely 🥰 looks like your having a fabulous time. I’m living vicariously thru your stories!!
Lovely. Just keep being the kind happy person that you are. J
Ah Annemarie thank you
Love this! You did a wonderful job on it.
Thanks you Lori
Aaaaagh just missed the live gosh darn it. Dashner Designs had me in suspense with his latest piece. Ah well, at least I'll see every detail first time round.
Hahaha your brilliant Emer. Haven’t seen his latest will have to go watch now.
I like it better with the door on too…love it!
Yeah I agree much better!! 🥰
You made it beautiful, as usual 😊❤
Tarnya 😍 thanks friend!
@@VintageAndPainted always! ❤️
Hi Sarah, this is a very simply ,elegant very stylish piece I love the white with the wax abs the natural grain done in white wax is so nice, I definitely like this piece with the middle door and it looks way better after you modified it than it was originally, but nice you kept the draws in the natural grain, the inside ties beautifully with the outside, I would love to see you do a piece in yellow!!! Maybe with a transfere intermingled or there's a mirror frame you did I'd like to see in a paint wash of coastal blue ?? ,I'm so looking forwards to the ugly duckling video can't wait to see what you do , we actually are having some warmer days 👏👏👏 even a clear blue sky (for a day)😅 better then nothing I guess, take care lovely all the best Mary in Australia 🌻😊♥️
Ahhh I’m so glad it’s warming up now! Mum and dad just said the days are getting warmer but the nights are still cool.
All the things you mentioned are my favourite things too. Love the natural bits that just seem to tie it all together. I just sold it today! Can’t believe it. Haven’t sold anything in weeks and sold 3 things this weekend. Boy we needed it!
Grateful for you Mary. Hope you enjoy the vid tomorrow. I did a few touches that remind me of home 🥰🇦🇺❤️
@@VintageAndPainted I'm wrapped you sold some things, it doesn't surprise me that piece went so fast it really was beautiful, I must have jinxed us because now it rainy windy abd cold both day and the nights are even cooler but I'm hopeful 😅,I can't wait to see this week's video soon asci get home do dinner etc I'm going to watch it ,I have no doubt ut will be stunning 😊😘

I always enjoy your posts. You always make my day. Good luck on the ugly ducking.
Ahh Rita thank you 🥰
Here I am Sarah, carry on and paint. Cassie
Hehehe yea Cassie!!!
A dining room table with a stained top and painted legs. Sometime probably next spring I am going to be updating my late grandmother's dining table. I'm thinking a dark stain for the top and chair seats with a painted base for the table base and rest of the chairs - a distressed country blue?
I just so happen to have a dining room table 😉 consider it on the list!!
This is really nicely done. Have to agree with you that the door looks complete put back on. So tell me….did you just seal the wood with the white wax? Bit confused. Look forward to the next piece 🌸💞
Thanks Norlene 🥰 I did just seal the raw wood with the same wax I used on the body. Sorry that wasn’t clear. Will work on that

Another Beauty🤩
Do you find that it’s almost Impossible to sell Single Nightstands??
Yes it is definitely harder. There are sometimes occasions when a parent is buying furniture for their kids but that is rare.
Greetings from Quebec....you look fab and do does the dresser....check out transcend....I'd love to see something done in a metallic.....
Ahhh Angie is a gem!!! I know the piece you’re talking about and it was incredible. Well I’ll definitely give it a go 😉

Srah, I would love to see what you would do with the Indonesian furniture we seem to have an excess of here in Melbourne Australia.
Oooo Juley maybe I can find some in Newcastle when I’m home!!! Give it a whirl 😉
Oh how beautiful this turned out. Was wondering if you might think about redoing a Lingerie Chest. I've looked to no end on Pinterest but haven't seen one that has your style. Would love to see your take on refurbishing one. Have a wonderful weekend
Thanks Georgie 🥰 and I’ll be on the look out for a chest like that! Hard to come by at a reasonable price but as soon as I see one I’ll jump on it 🥰
Have a lovely weekend
