- In this furniture makeover, an ugly 80s dresser gets a revamped look...to say its extreme is an understatement. As per usual we take this guy apart, make repairs, give it a new base & of course paint! But we also reuse/recycle parts of the dresser in a new way making it more appealing. It makes me SO happy to see furniture flippers allow some natural wood to show rather than simply painting every square inch. This is beautiful and unique!

Gorgeous. Also I get that every time I go to any hardware store. Recently went in to get plumbing stuff to fix my sink myself as a single mom and the worker told me I should just hire a plumber. My sink is fixed, without the plumber. 😂
It irritates me that when I go into a hardware store , the staff look at you because you are a woman that you have no idea what you are talking about and that you are incapable of doing anything. There have been times when I have looked at the staff member and thought to myself, I know more than you do. Since my husband died and my son and his family immigrated, I have been doing all my diy.
Ah Kat…go you good thing 💪🏻 I did the same. After a plumber came to “fix” our toilet it was still broken 🙄 after 2 weeks of waiting for either the landlord or plumber come I got fed up and fixed the toilet my self. I just figure if they can do surely I can 😆

I'm born and raised in Tennessee. I live in Covington, north of Memphis and in my 73 years I've only seen 3-4 snakes tops. So you are good. That turned out great! I like how you fixed the particle board and I'm glad you reused the wood blocks that came with it.
The nickname for this dresser was “blocky” it was like Minecraft meets Tetris 🤣 the blocks on it reminded me of 👆🏻that 😊

My lesson from you today is the saw dust with glue and clamps for swollen MDF!!! Got 2 end tables in that shape & so happy I didn’t throw them out!!! The tops have beveled glass inlays is why didn’t want to give up on!!! Back to your piece-Love that blue💙with the gold accents (handles)💛 & those drawer fronts with them on the angle and kept the natural wood color!!! 💙✨💙 I’m with you regarding snakes!! Live in Georgia. About 3 weeks ago I went to backyard faucet/hose and was racking leaves and uncovered a small snake!!! Got the rake to hold it where it was and got his head With My Hand and picked it up!!! Surprised myself!!! I was scared but so proud of myself!!! Went running & yelling in the house to show my son then back outside. He came down to back door, saw what I had and slammed the door shut!!! LOL. I let him loose in the back woods!!! Put on my face book site. Can here me freakin out while holding before I released him!!! I re watch when I need a pick up💙💫💙

Well that was awesome! I saw a similar piece at a Thrift Store for $20 and didn't think I could handle it properly without a table saw to cut new drawer fronts. All the drawers were the same. OMG, so lovely! I was upset when you took the wood off the front, but when you reused the wood; I was so elated! I’m glad Home Depot didn’t have the pole wrap. I hate that the guy at the store was a douce bag. Overall, beautiful beautiful piece.

Sarah, I live in NC and we have the same snake problem. I love Summer, but live terrified of these horrible reptiles. I have a snake killer blade by each side of the deck. These are old (I think they were called sling blades) tools that I have attached to handles. I keep them sharpened each summer. Also, I keep Wasp and Hornet killer spray with the nozzle that shoots the heavy stream. Yes,it will kill a snake, but not immediately. Mostly, it will get the darn snake away from me, if I happen to be in a situation I can’t use the blade (like the time I found one coiled on top of the push mower). If I am in the yard working, these two items are with me. Loved your remake of the dresser-it’s gorgeous. Thanks for sharing
