- I have been asked many times...if I could only buy ONE LV bag, which one would it be? Here is how I would determine the answer.

This was possibly the smartest and best put "how to's" I've ever seen for luxury handbag. Loved it all. Made my first purchase a year ago with the Neverfull MM in monogram with Rose Ballerine interior. For my next purchase, i haven't been able to decide between the speedy bandouliere 30 in Damier ebene and the pochette metis. This helped me solidify to go with the bandouliere because it gives me crossbody and shoulder and crook of the arm. It's also less expensive than the pochette metis and therefore quicker to save up for 😂. Thanks again for your video.

You are so right about the bag working for YOUR life. I love all kinds of bags and love the look of all kinds of bags but it has taken me 100s of bags to realize I'm a tote girl and as much as I love the look of a Speedy (I think it's gorgeous), it doesn't work for me. So the one LV bag I bought is the Neverfull MM in Monogram. Preloved so I don't have the "new" leather worries. Love it! Great video.

What an amazing video! I'm so glad I found your channel. Such great advice. I chose the Speedy B 30 in DE for my first LV- I carry quite a bit with me, I like the cross body option and I live in a very rainy climate so no vachetta was important for me. I did get the classic Monogram Speedy later but for my first, I wanted something completely carefree. You are so eloquent- truly a class act 👌🏼

Thinking I’m gonna buy a LV Speedy B 35 DE. I want an everyday bag that I can also use when I travel and put under the seat in front of me on an airplane. Glad to hear you love your bag!
Glad I found you, my Alma,s vachetta got so dark now but definitely would love the bandoulier 30or 35 Damier.

I currently have several LV bags in the monogram canvas, but just purchased a speedyb 25 in damier ebene in preparation for the rain and snow. I appreciated your comments about embracing those marks and rain spots on the vachetta and will have to remember your words the first time I get caught in the rain! Thanks!

You made a very relevant point for me - the bag needs to be suitable to your lifestyle which may change in the near term. It is for this reason that I have delayed the purchase of my first bag (but it hasn't stopped me from buying SLGs!). And - you look beautiful in that shade of red - it brings out the healthy flush in your cheeks!
I went through several bags that just didn't suit my lifestyle at all, so I learned the hard way! SLG's are wonderful, so I'm glad you are enjoying those now! Thank you so much for the sweet compliments :)

This was a wonderful video and I think the same criteria can be used for all handbags. I have to admit it but I've never cared that much about handbags but now I realize a nice handbag is really important to look nice. You said something that ressonated and that was to leave a nice bag to a daughter, daughter in law, nieces or granddaughters. Jennifer I think you've elevated my taste!!
Fantastic Linda!! To me, a nice classic handbag can elevate any outfit. Somehow, everything looks so much nicer when you carry a Chanel with it! :)
my Louis vuittons are basically "rain luggage". I buy them in damiere ebene (except for a Twice in empreinte) and my first Speedy 40 I used on and off for 20 years. So they get used in the absolute WORST conditions, and I don't mind the damage. It gets more beautiful with time!

the alma bb chose me 3 years ago lol. I've always loved being able to throw anything and everything in my bag, but I bought the alma bb a couple years ago and its the ONLY bag that has lasted in my collection, that I love everything about. I want to buy the never full mm because I have a second kid on the way, but even then I think id still put my alma in the neverfull lol. I get anxiety when I don't use it, having a bag that pricey just sitting at home stresses me out for some reason
Great advise! It really comes down to the purpose of the bag for me and how I need to handle my daily stuff. I have one really heavy Burberry leather bag that is driving me mental and is mostly stored. But the Burberry Maidstone Tote in canvas is my daily now because I‘m not this cute Insta girl with great organisation. I need to chuck my stuff in it fast to catch the train home so it’s mostly this one or the good old Longchamp Le Pliage Neo L. For going out it´s the Burberry Haymarket Bowling bag (similar to the Speedy) but I just purchased a vintage Keepall 45 for my daily commute to work because I want to be able to carry homemade lunch, trainers and my work clothes. Let’s see how that goes 🤷♀️
It sounds like you have it worked out pretty well! The Le Pliage and the Burberry canvas are perfect work totes! You might need to consider a lighter option to replace your heavy Burberry leather bag, though. Ooooh, the Keepall 45 is perfect for throwing in everything you need for the day...and so much healthier to eat homemade lunches! Economical, too. :)

My first bag was a classic speedy in monogram and I'm afraid to use it! My second bag was speedy b in DE and I love it! My third bag was the Iena in DE and love it. I now know what I like and will be selling my first purchase as I know top handle vachette bags are not for me. Great video!

I'm planning to buy my first bag soon. I'm caught between the MM neverfull and a speedy B 30. I personally like the look of Ebene. It reminds me or gourmet chocolates. But my mom thinks I should get the monogram because the monogram is classic, timeless etc. Jennifer, do the straps on neverfull stretch or give overtime? I'm not really a short strap tote person, and it's kind of a sacrilege, but.... I bought the Michael Kors Large? Travel Tote which is basically the commercial level version of a MM neverfull. With the MK I had to go to a cobbler, and have more holes punched in the straps. With the neverfull, the straps are not adjustable, which gives me pause, as to will it be comfortable on me. I'm open to the idea of a different bag, but I don't know... I feel like for my first piece of LV it should either be a neverfull or speedy b.
Hello! The straps on the neverfull are truly amazing, in my opinion (and a gazillion others' opinions too, I guess...) They look so tiny and uncomfortable, but they are just the opposite. Very comfy and totally strong. The strap drop works for the majority of the people (I'm not tiny and the drop is perfect on me, even while wearing a winter coat.) If you can get to a boutique and try it on, that would be best. But if not...there is a return policy that would allow you to return it if it does not work for you. (if you purchase online) I tend to prefer the Damier ebene because of not having to worry about the straps getting too dark with time. (water spots, and so forth). Actually, the damier ebene was the first print by Louis Vuitton, and Louis's son created the monogram print years later. :) As for the Speedy B, it is a fabulous and versatile bag. Can't go wrong with either choice!! Good luck :)
This is an old video but wow it still resonates today. Back then I would have said an Epi Neverfull would have been most handy, nowadays I would say an Epi Speedy. Neither bag is made today, so that didn't age well 🤣

I do think a Neverfull is a great bag to start with (especially if you are a tote bag kind of gal.) It is very useable in many, many situations. If you would like more versatility, a Speedy 30B in your canvas or leather of choice would be a super first pick! It can be worn in every way possible!

....the weather you're dealing with! Yeees! That is an issue. I have such lovely shoes and clothes but the weather is just not the right thing! LOL. Too bad. ;-)
So true! I am finally coming to terms with the fact that I have to deal with the weather I have, not the weather I wish I had! Many of my shoes and clothes have had to go on to warmer climates.
I am in the downsizing mode. I have had Speedy 25, 30, 30B, 35 and sold just about ea except DE 30B. I would like an Azur in 35 for carrying a lot of stuff....For like the mall when I want to load stuff in my bag...instead of a neverfull? Though I do have one too. Would you use a 35B? Thanks....watching this late I know....I have to go by my interests at the time. Thanks so much! Love your videos.
Yes, I think I would use a 35 (or even 40)B! It would not be for everyday use, but for those times I want to load more in and have extra room for purchases, etc. Thank you!

Congrats! What a great video! its so true about looking at social media and getting hooked on a bag that just doest work. I did it with the Celine Phantom bag! Never use it . I just bought the Chanel jumbo but it might be a fail as well. we shall see but your video is great! Carry options are huge for me!!!

I think that is a great choice. You will be able to fit so much in it when you need to, but you don't have to fill it daily. My only thought is that it is a large bag and sticks out from the body a lot when worn crossbody. If that is not a concern for you, I think you will be very pleased with the versatility and classic look of the Speedy. Let me know what you decide to do!

What is the frenzy to spend around $1,000 or more for an LV bag that is canvas at that? I love beautiful bags but I don't get why this is even worth it.
I understand your confusion, and I felt that way too until I bought my first canvas LV bag. There is something magical about the LV canvas. It wears like iron! Indestructible! Never looks worn or old. Can be set on the ground, soccer field, sandy beach, messy floor etc and everything wipes off like a dream. Those reasons may not be enough for some people, but there are an enormous amount of LV canvas lovers who feel the same way. For me and many, many others...it's completely worth it.

My very first Louis Vuitton bag was the petite bucket bag in monogram. My daughter has been carrying that bag for the last 8 years. It still looks amazing!
