Bohlinger you rock. Great playing, love that style...was hoping Setzer would come out of nowhere and join you on stage to trade some licks. Great video.
Love it John, great playing!👍👍 I was in Nashville a couple of months ago for the first time, what a place, Broadway is live music heaven, all genres represented, great bands/ musicians in every bar! I cannot wait to go back!👍👍🔥
Love the video. I was actually just looking for a new tuner to put on my board. I ordered the Peterson StroboStomp HD from Sweetwater on your recommendation. I’ve been playing more outdoor gigs recently, (Summer in WI, short season, but very bright) and this tuner looks like I’ll be able to see it in the sunlight. Very cool last part, when you demo the board at a live gig. Thank you.
Serious question, with technology being as advanced as it is, why do we not see more multi effects on pedals? For instance reverb and delay are the most commonly used but few pedals have both . Compression with noise gate would be great. Tremolo with vibrato or modulation. Chorus, phaser, and flanger could easily be combined in one. To be realistic I suppose it's to make people pay more for less.
Unlike some musicians on UA-cam, John is a 100% the real deal. I happened upon him performing AJ's on Broadway while we were in Nashville from the UK. A charming, lovely man, with bags of talent.
I'd love to just "Hang-with-John" and jam, talk music, gear and go see live bands = Guy is so cool. His enthusiasm is infectious. Enjoyed your tones & playing sir. oNe LovE from NYC
Great video!! John is one of the nicest, hardest working cats in Nashville!! He's also out there interviewing everyone else, but doesn't get nearly enough credit for his own playing and singing!! He's one of the best pickers in town also!! Great job JB, good on ya!! 8) --gary
Cool board, but I really enjoyed seeing you play live. Y’all sound awesome! Thanks for sharing. On a side note, I just noticed the Tele style pickguard on your LP. Very cool.
Great stuff! Nice versatile board that doesn't break the bank. I like to to stick the tuner between the drive pedals and the modulating and/or time based ones, so it acts as a noise gate too.
This is so much better than the same ol' pedal and gear reviews over and over again that grow tiresome... often with close mic'd audio and no real world gig context. Along with the classic Rig Rundowns of artists you are already doing, this kind of content is really enjoyable. More of it!
I've been following on instagram for a while now, and I always look forward to the clips of your gigs. When i go on vacation to Nashville I will definitly keep an eye out and try and catch one live. Keep it up man!
Nice run down. So cool to hear all these different pedals. I was pretty much a BOSS guy back in my gigging days. I found a comfortable pocket of pedals with them, so I stayed there. So many quality options out there today to choose from.
i like to always have 2 delays. one fixed slapback and one that's longer and with a higher mix that gets set with tap tempo. usually like boost +drive but if using a 2 channel amp you can rely on the amp to get a higher gain tone. for smallest footprint and portability this is a great set of pedals. i have an old tc pedal that does chorus, phase, flange, etc. to get the "weirder" sounds. that is really optional.
11:13 this right part here!!! That lick!! Bro, amazing! I’m trying to work that out now. Please do a video lesson on that. I need to know how to do that!! 👏🏼
Man, if JB is in a video, I click without even caring what it is. John is the man, a working man guitarist who has been there, done that, and got a tattoo because the T-shirt shrank. John, keep on playing, man!
That is a sweet pedal board, awesome collection of effects John! And naturally, stellar playing as always 🙂 Even demonstrating the tuner in action after the detune haha! Looks like a really fun gig that you have there with great musicians. Rock on!
Nice playing John!! Fun pedal board! Do yourself a favor and get the ehx super pulsar...a bigger pedal, but so many cool features that the straight pulsar doesn't have....it's really great...just my 2 cents...maybe you don't need/want it for what you do, but it's super fun...I have a rockabilly trio and I need to steal some of those licks!!
John great playing. I wear those Hokas moving packages throughout a brown delivery company. Comfortable as F, but man, latest versions don't breathe as well.😢😂
I need another rc booster. Had the copper Scott Henderson version but traded it in on a jazz master. It was the best boost I've used. I always have the Xotic wah on my board tho. 😅
John where do you publicize your gigs? When I was in Nashville a few weeks ago I searched around the web to see if you were playing somewhere and couldn't find anything
Dammit, we were just up there for Eastside Boogie. Who is John playing with? Kelley's Heroes? Was he at Robert's Western World? That's what the background looked like early in this video. EDIT: Ok, Layla's My bad

Great to see YOU doing your thing for a change, John!
Singing, too!
You are a real talent.
Bohlinger is the best rig and gear demonstrator. What a cool idea for a video.... Thank you for continuing to provide great insight and content.
Our pleasure!
I don’t even play guitar, I just like hearing you talk about them.
never too late to start!
@@TehSyneSIt is for some people…
John is hands down the best presenter you guys have and a beast of a musician!
Probably the best pedal board build and demo ever.....from work shop to gig...LOL
Nice to hear you play (and sing!) with a band. if I ever get to Music City I'll try to catch you, regardless of the ensemble or venue.
Who doesn’t love hearing John Bohlinger play ?? Great ol’ tune by the Hag. Love it !!
Excellent run-through, JB. Thank you, PG. This is a very insightful, educational and enjoyable video to watch. You rock!
Glad it was helpful!
This was great!!! I loved seeing the gear being put to use. What a player and singer!
Great to see John doing his thang! Awesome video!
Great playing John!!
Bohlinger you rock. Great playing, love that style...was hoping Setzer would come out of nowhere and join you on stage to trade some licks. Great video.
You can hear John's playing out of hundreds. And that's a good thing!!!So so special!
It’s so rad to know that you guys making the videos can play the absolute shit out of your instruments. 🤟🏼
Unbelievable John what style great to finally hear you play
Really cool to see you play and sing

Wow what a pleasure hearing you do your thing!! Fantastic playing!
good lord that feller can really play! holy moly!
Magnificent playing! A real pleasure to listen to. More please 😁
Just amazing John!!! Thanks so much!!
Thanks Robert. I have your gear with me on every gig/session/ etc. You are great.
Saw you last night on Broadway with the board. Sounded killer as always.
Brilliant idea for a video. I enjoyed that very much.
Glad to hear it!

I wish we could see the whole show, beautiful band and music, also great playing with nice sounds.

Always kind of learned something from John watching his gigs
that gibson les paul (looks like a special thats been heavily modified) looks pretty killer. need a rig rundown on Johns guitars and amps
This was so cool! Great board, cool gig man, would love to see more stuff like this, thanks Premier Guitar!
Glad you liked it!
Great interviews and playing
now that was pretty cool playing and singing, cheers John!

Yes!
Man Bols, surprised you’re hauling that Super around. When I was in Nashville most players were using modelers/kempers. Love an old Fender.
Very cool!
wow you are creative
That was cool. Loved the progression pedals to stage. Face melted!!!
Glad you liked it!
Sounding great as always!!

Here’s something to improve further, Bolinger: 3m dual lock tape instead of Velcro. Far, far superior!
You're a bad cat John. Nice playing dude.
You go Bol ....About Time 💫

John, keep on playing, man!
Great addition, adding the face shifter! In case you have to play some Waylon…
Love bohlinger vlog video
The gospel of John, chapter and verse. Talks the talk and walks the walk.
love the concept
Great pedalboard and well-played as always John!
Many thanks!
I never see you when I’m hanging out on Broadway. Someday maybe🤘🏻
You rule John!
Not sure if anyone asked this yet, but who did the pin striping on your guitar?! That is the coolest looking axe ever! Great demo!
Love it! I have the same folding handtruck. They are great. Super fun video!
That was great!! 🎉
Dudes Bad Ace

Sounds solid
Well that was very enjoyable....would like to see more of you guys playing out....oh yeah, nice fiddle work!!
More to come!

Loved that
More of this - real life musicians. There's no way I could do just one bungee cord
everyone needs a MAGNA CART 150 in there life!!!! Best thing I ever did was buy one for gigging. ONE TRIP load in!!!!
Think I need to visit Nashville 😂
Way cool!!
John great playing. I wear those Hokas moving packages throughout a brown delivery company. Comfortable as F, but man, latest versions don't breathe as well.😢😂
Very good
I need another rc booster. Had the copper Scott Henderson version but traded it in on a jazz master. It was the best boost I've used. I always have the Xotic wah on my board tho. 😅
Sir, you are a monster. 🔥
Top job Mr bohlinger
Cool board! 😉
Really nice playing John. Where did you mount the power supply, underneath??
Thanks..
Jim
Yes, exactly
Love to see this vlogs your playing is beautiful man !! ❤
Hope y'all enjoyed this video ... let us know we should do more of this style of content!
Master guitar player
Nice and loud 😁
Boost pedal towards the front? I’ve always had mine at the end. Any particular reason?
I was curious about that as well. I run mine after the compression.
Have to say a little disappointed the pedals weren't in all directions zip tied down as per John's usual boards.
Great playing.
We're giving this one away so didn't wanna "mod" it too badly!
@@premierguitar 🤣
Love seeing John play live! What’s the story behind the photo on the guitar?
My daughter Bette. Reminds of why I work.
@@johnbohlinger Aw man that’s wonderful to hear. Happy early Father’s Day!
Great video. Let’s hear the story behind that guitar!
That's a prototype of what became the Music City Les Paul designed with Gibson and Joe Glaser. Love it
Nice pickin man !
John where do you publicize your gigs? When I was in Nashville a few weeks ago I searched around the web to see if you were playing somewhere and couldn't find anything

Great John, where can I get teh backing track.
Old school tube Tonebone Hot Brit Distortion for me. I’ve gone through dozens, nothing matches it.
John Bowlinjer is the best in the game
If you have reverb on your amp, doesn’t that open up a slot on your board ?
Dammit, we were just up there for Eastside Boogie. Who is John playing with? Kelley's Heroes? Was he at Robert's Western World? That's what the background looked like early in this video. EDIT: Ok, Layla's My bad
Also, if you play Waylon, you must have a phasor. Good swap.
