11:26. When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut & I even went to Space Camp 1 summer where I learned something that makes this episode's ending even funnier: There is no atmosphere on The Moon which means not only is the whale dead but no external organisms can decompose his body since they can't survive there either so his body will be preserved like that forever.
I only knew Willzyx from this 12 minute video but still I felt so sorry for him being there on the moon. Fortunately he probably dies moments after blastoff.

Funniest thing? The image of a whale lying dead on the moon was the whole basis for the episode. The plot was written entirely to give it context.

It is one of the most badass depictions of a people in South Park from my memory. Just casually charging $200 to send a whale to the moon and actually succeeding in a timescale of what? a few days or weeks at most.
Some of the best episodes are the ones where they're playing more innocent roles, and just being kids. Granted, they still go on some pretty outlandish adventures, but they have the mentality of children. The Lord of the Rings spoof episode is probably the best example of this I think. It's also nice every once in a while to see all four boys getting along more than normal and working toward the same goal.
As always, I had a blast with your reaction. The energy you give really makes me feel like I'm reliving the first time I've watched these episodes

Story has the same ending as Keiko from Free Willy. They spent years and tons of money to set Keiko free after the movie only to die of pneumonia alone and depressed after never being able to fit in with the other whales.
I think my favorite part of this episode is turning the negative stereotypes of Mexicans on it's head. Say what you will, but Mexico sent a damn whale to the moon for only $200.
Stingray stings are actually almost never fatal. The most famous case was basically a direct sting to the heart, which wouldn't happen to someone petting them in the rare case that a sting happens.
It's kinda ironic that Steve Irwin was killed by something that is so much less dangerous than other creatures he handled

@@magicwindow6682 and out of all the sea creatures that could've potentially kill him. It was one of the more unassuming ones.
The ending of this episode is one of the greatest payoffs in the entire show. Super underrated episode

I recommend “The Last of the Meheecans” episode (s15 ep 9). It’s based on the film “The Last of the Mohicans” and it’s a hole episode with Butters as the main character.
It’s okay to touch stingrays at zoos or aquariums as they have the poison stinger taken out of them there. However, never touch a wild one or swim with a wild one.

I did listen to the creator commentary on this episode. The entire idea came about when the question was thrown around how do we get a whale to the moon? They did, they really did it.

You are so down to earth like myself and I enjoy watching your opinion when it comes to watching South Park because South Park is so hilarious and at the same time so revealing when it comes to reality, you deserve a larger channel then you have right now. Oh man this takes me back. Me and the bros watched South Park religiously while in high school/ College. We would roll up some bloozies and I remember when we saw the ending of this one we were crying laughing for at least 10 mins straight. This show is so great.

I've always thought that last shot was based on the ending of the movie "Space Cowboys."
This episode really changed a thing in my life. Everytime my family talks with me about using airplanes or going to the airport i say in the least enthusiastic voice "Si, Fliegen" (the german version of "Si, Fly").

I have to agree when the kids said they did a pretty amazing thing. It was pretty extraordinary that 4 school aged kids managed to get a whale shot into space and dumped onto the moon. Lol.

In the end cartman won. He had to do it in the way he doesn’t normally do but it worked. By doing what the dog whisperer wanted, he got rid of him. Niiice
I went to an aquarium where you can pet the little rays, so I tried and put my hand out for them to see like I was told, and the little thing tried to bite me !

They do something similar to the gag at 4:00 in Grey Dawn, another great episode. Cartman’s explaining a plan to them and they’re all wearing the black clothes and facepaint, and Cartman says “We’ll sneak into town, cleverly disguised as black people”
