Got mine this morning. Season 9 now brings the no of boxsets to 13. There are 26 seasons of Classic Who with just 13 to go. I wonder how many more will we get in 2023 with it being the 60th anniversary year. Cant wait. I'm going to watch Day of the Daleks first
I was saddened to hear how a fan got his in the post but part of the box was damaged. He had bought it from HMV like a lot of us but it was the 2nd time his boxset was damaged. The fault surely is with BBC and not HMV. I'm never bothered about the box as long as my copies play well. I had a problem with my copy of Season 22 Dakek story because some of the special features did not play.
All hail the Pertwee era and this gorgeous artwork 😍 🙌🏻
Mine arrived yesterday, put today aside to watch all episodes back to back.
I love these collection sets!
Got mine from HMV, I love this set
I'm in the US. Mine was shipped last week, so I'll probably have it by the end of the month. Can't wait!
A slightly-late birthday present for me!
My main disappointment with this set is the lack of isolated music score for _The Mutants,_ especially since the CD release omits some cues and reconstructs some others (from the separate A and B reels) in ways that don’t quite match the broadcast versions.
As someone who isn’t really fussed about most of the VAM, my main focus on these releases are always the photo galleries (for the music and effects played over them), the BtS (where any duplication from commentaries is unknowable and irrelevant as I can’t access them anyway!), and potential Location features (I haven’t actually seen either one yet, but that’s because I intend watching them with someone else, and he hasn’t seen all the stories of either season yet.).
Also, 5:34 is the Skybase from _The Mutants!_
I've just watched Season 9 for the first time, and I have to say I loved it. It wasn't all perfect or anything but Jo and Three really click this season and feel a step up from Season 8. Day of the Daleks is a great story and the stand out for me but I enjoyed every story. The Time Monster has some real flaws in it, but is simultaneously brilliant in places. Honestly, I'm surprised that I've heard nothing but praise for Season 8 and that Season 9 isn't very good as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a great season of Classic Who with some great scenes too
I just ordered mine today, should be arrive Thursday
Am I grabbing this? Pre-ordered it within the first 30 mins you could. As I've done with all of them.
I'm in the states, so I won't get it for another week, but it's en route.
I am waiting for the standard edition because my other sets are SD and it’s too late to change now!!
I'm collecting tye standards myself, looks like a crackin set though
HMV has a friend referral discount code. Can you give us one? Thanks.
It’s WHONERD
The time monster is anything but pacy - was nearly asleep watching it on a watchalong a year or so again
Will buy the standard once it comes
Season. 9. Doctor. Who. Collecion. Dvds
