It isn't that the fan base is toxic so much as there is SO much lore and backstory to consume. In general there are two main factions and maybe a sub faction. Faction 1 of course is the original fans that saw the first, undoctored, trilogy either in theaters or VHS, they also have consumed most of the Legends canon (all the novels and technical content that surrounds the universe). Faction two (the sub faction) are those that most likely saw the prequels first and then the originals and never got into the nontheatrical content. Then there is faction 3 (the smallest but loudest, much like a room full of spoiled 2 year olds). They are those that only know from what Disney has established as canon. For the most part, factions 1 and 2 are aligned only questioning a few minor contradictions that have crept in between the first two trilogies. It's faction three that won't accept that the Disney deletions and retcons diminish the whole.
You should show her Vader's appearance in Rogue One. They really knew what they were doing. Vaders style and movement in this is more canon than even the original movies. Birmally you only see it in videogames but rogue one and this got it.
Great reaction...glad you watched this. I know folks already must have mentioned it, but one of them was a pretty old man, and the Vader suit really hindered both mobility and vision...so it was never going to be the most exciting and action packed duel put to screen. And as others have mentioned...Ben knew going in that he was going to lose and that he just had to time it so Luke could see it happen.👍😉
The original movie by this time was severely behind schedule and Lucas was at the edge of nervous collapse. Props did not work for most of the movie and sabers were not the exception. Guiness was good at fencing, but these props needed to be handled carefully to not break them, and any delay with the props would make Lucas to be more behind schedule. So Lucas did what he could.
They were just two old guys having a conversation and one of them wanted to lose.

The only thing missing is Vader farting flames amd burping machine gun fire! Technically it's done great though!😬
