- Vomiting can be prevented by consuming small amounts of clear, sweetened liquids such as soda pop, fruit juices (except orange and grapefruit because these are too acidic) and popsicles. Drinks containing sugar calm the stomach better than other liquids. Rest either in a sitting position or in a propped lying position.

I literally just woke up a few minutes ago and felt really sick and I don’t know why, I threw up a bit and now I’m just sitting in my bathroom cuz I’m kinda scared that I’ll throw up again. I think I might be dehydrated or something cuz I woke up and was really thirsty, so I’m just sitting here and drinking a little cup of water. I’m a little scared but my mom isn’t here right now so I’m just commenting on UA-cam to make me feel better. @@karir9222 it’s usually the fear of vomiting, like when you don’t have emerophobia, you will not want to vomit but probably do it anyway, but when you do have emetophobia you are going to even resent the thought of vomit

Good information on causes vomiting . Food poisoning generally results in vomiting. Dehydration can result and saline IV may be required in emergency room.
Then mine must be the stupidest reason. I had a REALLY itchy throat, coughed too hard. Cleaning up rn.

I had a quadruple bypass about 18 months ago. About two days after the op, the nurses got me out of bed (along with my tangle of tubes and IVs) and onto a chair. It must have been the after-effects of the anaesthetic, but a wave of nausea hit me as I stood up (a nurse on each side). Another nurse rushed and grabbed an alcohol wipe and held it under my nose. The nausea subsided and I never had that problem again. Apparently, that was used in another hospital, and it certainly worked for me.

Thanks. I was vomiting every 25 minutes or so for the last day now and this helped a bit. I would drink the smallest amount of water and I would still vomit because of something. It was a horrible feeling to try to sleep, then wake up and vomit in my bed. Thanks alot!
I have an issue with vomiting when eating at times. I have to be very careful making sure I chew least 30 times to help things stay down. I have a hiatus hernia and have been taking meds for years to help but recently found out the meds also block absorption of some nutrients so I'm doing my best lately to stay off them.
This keeps happening to me episodically, once or twice every few months. I get extremely nauseous, cannot eat, am overrun with panic. Not sure what’s worse, the anxiety or the urge to vomit while hardly being able to drink water. I’m hoping this is dehydration and that I can fix it by staying ahead on water.

water and orange juice is safe to drink
I had a kidney removed and they stuffed me full of morphine, I turned allergic to it , made me vomit so hard it went right across the room. They had to give me injections directly into the abdomen in order to stop it.
Sounds rough but why would you remove your kidney was it full of diseases or something thats life threatening? Or something just as serious?

Need help with the burning? Gurgle baking soda and some water in the back of your throat, it will help neutralize the acid. I even put a little baking soda water in my nostrils with my finger if the acids came up through the nose. I used to be afraid of vomiting but it's better to just let it go, just submit, don't fight it. Try to angle yourself so your head isn't too upside down, more upright to keep the gunk out of your nose, hopefullly.

I mostly vomit because of issues with my head like super strong headaches and some migraines in the brain etc
I get headaches often that are so painful that it does in fact cause me to vomit, my solution has always been to take antibiotics and drink water because usually the headaches are from dehydration which happens a lot to me, I’ve been doing my absolute best to drink more water lately to reduce how often these headaches occur and it has been working really well lately so that’s nice

My brother had severe vomiting and lost a lot of weight and ended up in the hospital. They did a lot of tests with one of them being a nuclear medicine test which diagnosed him with gastroparesis which caused his vomiting episodes. So now he has to eat small meals throughout the day and take meds to help with mobility of intestinal tract. After a meal he has to make sure to walk around. Basically gastroparesis means you cannot digest your food adequately which causes vomiting. Special diet required as wel.

My legs shake, I sweat, and I also can't sleep at ALL. Ginger really works well for getting rid of nauseousness which can in turn help prevent vomiting. I get chewable Ginger tablets as they usually get the job done 👍
Just listen to me, if you feel like throwing up, go for it, you will feel a lot better, theres a reason why body has this mechanism, if you feel a lot worse, then come disagree on my comment
My husband gets nauseous, vomit, vertigo, head pressure. He was dx with vestibular neuritis, BPPV, vestibular migraine with some overlap. I just want to alert others of that possibility.
It’s horrible and debilitating. Hopefully, he will be seeing a doctor who can recommend proper medications for him.

Tbh I haven’t had anything like what I have right now, so basically I drank spoiled milk bc I wanted cereal, and now I’ve been vomiting a ton and I already got the milk out of my stomach but I’m stilll throwing up and I literally have nothing in my stomach and I still throw up so it really hurts. 💀
I feel you , I am going through a similar process but I can’t really point out the exact cause , what worse I can’t keep food down every time I try to eat or drink something in a matter of 30 min or so I start vomiting, I’ve already vomited 5times in a space of 7h or so , I am so weak with hunger alone and not to mention my throat is on fire , don’t know maybe I have some sort of throat infection, thinking of going to hospital first thing in the morning

Breathing methods may be able to help if this is the cause for you
If you can, bring a smell that’s calming to you like peppermint, lavender, chamomile, etc.

Drink a small can of original coke cola . The caffeine stops nausea within seconds . It does work . I have done it on a few occasions .after being advised by a nurse in hospital after having had a special liquid injected for a nuclear science thyroid scan .After the scan I felt very nauseas and she gave me a can from a small fride in the room . It happens alot after such orocedures ,apparently . I wish I'd kniwn about it during my pregnacy when my ' mirning sickness' actually lasted through most of it .

Since i avoided an anxiety vomit i used my unfailing technique, calm down, then i didn't vomit and after a lot of days i usually felt less hungry than before till now and every time i get consumed by the urge of vomit, i don't, because somehow i don't vomit, like i only feel the sensation but i don't experience it, its weird.
