Hi Elijah. Very knowledgeable commentary. I've seen several of your Videos. Do you recommend working these guys out on a Spring Pole. If so. What age is a good time to start for health and safety reasons. Thanks, Jim Owen Jr.
Good coverage! I've had two over the last 35 years.. This is one dog that you truly can trust children with, even if a kid fell off and broke a dogs leg.. I've never seen this in person, but I KNOW they are so friggin family tolerant and LOYAL... My second one was professionally trained with both hand signals and verbal commands.. I live in Texas.. I've been in the stink bullets often buzzing (tumbling) near my head.. I pretty much know I can handle most commers with my "girlfriend" (sidearm).. However, my kids when they were fairly young.. Take Jobe with you.. (I thought that was a fitting name due to how chill these dogs are.. I also called him Cain sometimes on the side... Because, I KNOW what they are capable of)... Your video actually has me wanting to finally get another or two at the same time.. I was 'traveling' overseas quite a bit for a while.. I'm parked now. I may be calling YOU soon to talk more about it. So many breeders are full of shite! You sound like you are not one of them! Might be worth a drive out to SoCal again.. I do miss the weather there... Not so much the ocean and strattling the hypothermia curve... ;) Thanks for the video! I wonder how many $$$k's you might have just made due to your video.. We'll find out..
I swear you brendals / black brendals look amazing! And, you or a branch is in Houston!?! (Sorrry for that.. :p I grew up all over that city)... Maybe 80 miles to there.. Brother actually lives there.. He might actually want one as well.. And you do training.. Oh boy.. I'm not going to say I like the prices but they are LEGIT and warranted! Gotta talk to the boss lady (heh - kinda) and promise not to buy any more red ryder McMillian or Barrett bb guns for a while.. Might even hit up my parents to see if they are interested in one as well.. I would personally would love nothing more than my Mom not just be packing a BG 2.0 (ETC) when out walking, but a PRESA.. I'll be in contact.. Houston is an easy trip.. IF home base is in SOCAL, that is fine too..
I had one in the early 2000s. A female, sandy color. They were not well known at that time, not even in Spain, the only one who talks about them was Irema Curto. Mine reached 45kg and it was a pleasure to see her run around the farm, when the grass was tall I watched her hunt as if she were a lioness in the savanna...she crouched down and crawled to get closer to the crows that came down to peck something...more than one was the last thing I snacked on. No living animal dared to cross our fence (some stray cats that entered, never came out). The garbage collectors had a countdown to collect as quickly as possible the bucket that was in one of the upper corners of the lot, on the outside. When "Moura" heard the garbage truck, she ran like a rocket towards the gate that was next to the container and I assure you that you could hear the garbage men shouting "run, run, it's coming!!"... it never happened nothing, there was a fence between them and the dog, but I don't think they ever wanted to test the fence LOL. She was wonderful, affectionate with the family, but she was a guard dog and was not a pet, I do not recommend a Presa Canario to someone who wants a pet, the Presa is a co-worker who can be your friend.
I have a presa canario and he is the light of my life however when I try and walk him he drags me around like a rag doll. What is a good training collar that will be both safe for Loki yet keep him under control at the same time. 4:55
There are choke/prong collars with rubber over the prongs for larger breeds. They can be a helpful tool to reduce pulling by applying pressure without tearing the skin. The wider ones are better because it balances out the pressure more than the skinny chain prong collars would. When walking your dog make sure ur keeping ur voice calm and level. Do not speed up your speech when giving commands or repeat them if ur dog is not obeying. That shows the dog you’re afraid. Repeatedly saying commands and raising your voice can encourage the dogs fear or anxiety and reinforce the bad behavior. Remember that dogs communicate more through body language too. Stand up straight and act as an alpha and ur dog will respect you. If they aren’t obeying commands after all that then command their attention by making them heel with eye contact on you. If they obey, reinforce that good behavior. Treats or balls or whatever your dog loves.

How did you raise your dog? If you don't want your dog to be friendly with strangers and be suspect, from a small pup you never let strangers around your pup and NEVER let nonfamily members pet or treat your pup, not even your buddies. Basics.
