It is amazing how the horses are like children; when Mom is sick and they try all the mischief they can find. I have to admit ; I had to chuckle. I know this is one of those tough times, but Jim is seeing the blessings too. I am praying for helpers for you Brenda; and for the grace for Jim to accept the help. It so often happens that we are the first to help others, as I know Jim does, but we can not put aside our vulnerability to receive the richness of what that others bring us. Quiet down and receive all of God's healing - body, soul, and spirit.
Those little imps! Those horses know something is very different. I think they can sense you are injured, Jim. Brenda is doing a great job with all the horses. 😊
So glad Jim that you didn't need surgery. God will bless you with wonderful family and friends to help you. Bless you and Brenda for you are both loved by your viewers. I will understand if you post 2 videos a week untill Jim is completely healed. I'm glad the girls are closer to you both to help out. God bless the Gordon Family 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️🐕
Don't forget that when you are the patient, you need to be patient! I know that it is a hard thing for humans to do sometimes, but a reminder is always helpful. I wish you a steady healing of your scapula!
Sorry for your accident Jim I watch your show religious ly . I'm 82 and I know what you are going through I've been handicapped for 20 years now and you really have to watch every step you take so you don't fall ! I always wondered about you logging by your self accidents do happen . I know you really can't wait to get back to doing your thing and you will it takes time . Jim stay safe and Brenda is there thank God to help you .
I replaced a broken fence post once by putting a post in a 5 gal bucket and filling around it with road sand and water. Worked great. Hope your healing goes well
That was like wrangling a bunch of toddlers at bedtime! Glad to hear that you are not in much pain but the frustration of not being able to work like you are used to doing is hard. Brenda is such a big help. Not sure there isn't much she can't do! Both of you take care and God bless!
Steady as you go Jim, a slow start will allow you a quick recovery time! Is understandable that you want to get going but you must let Debby carry the main lift until you are once again back to full strength.
Hope you can get some part time help. You will not heal if you over do. I had two bad farm accidents. Family really helped my wife and I .Best wishes to you !! DO NOT OVER DO !! Thanks 😢
Jim & Brenda It’s so good to hear you don’t need to have surgery. The horses are being little stinkers, they sense you are injured and can’t do a lot with them right now. There acting just like kids would. Be safe around the horses and the farm. Brenda you are a so gracious and humble, Jim is so lucky to have you as his wife.
Don't know how horses know but they certainly have excellent instincts about when to get away with things ordinarily they wouldn't do, but good to hear that your prognosis is good .!😊 ❤ 😊
I can't imagine they'd leave that grass, so that's a blessing. At least they stayed in the yard. We just had cows escape and head down the road. That was an ordeal. I was herding cattle on foot, in subzero temps, in my PAJAMAS!😂 The cops had to come and shut down the road...
Hello Jim and Brenda it is so funny how horses sence there is something wrong with Jim so they tried to get get away with all kind of mischiff sorry for the spelling have a good day guys
You two work so hard! Hope Jim continues to heal; I was cringing with all the things he was doing but I know the chores won’t do themselves. Those horses were acting like naughty children 😂 Take care ❤
Glad to hear that JIM is healing. Hopefully he can get back to full power in a while. Will keep saying prayers that God will heal his body. You guys are a wonderful couple and you seem like just a part of our extended family. 😊
Have been thinking about you today Jim, so glad that the damage is not as bad as thought. Praying for you both as you deal with some changes, I am sure the horses know that something different is going on.
I always carried a few alfalfa brickets (horse crunch) in my pocket. Whenever the hoses saw me they would come running. I never had to chase after them. When visitors would come I'd step into the pasture and whistle. The horses would look up, see, and come rite to me. My guests thot I was a skilled horse trainer, but it all worked on the horses' love of these treats.
Yes, I always wondered why people said they would have to 'catch' their horses, treats and a reward (like a little bit of oats)when they are back in the barn make them come willingly to me.
26:19 praying for a speedy recovery for your arm. Jim, but be careful don’t make it worse than it is listen to your wife. Listen to your doctor. She will do what she can what she can’t doesn’t really matter she can do the important stuff maybe your daughters will come up and exercise the horses, but you take care of your arm. Take care of yourself.
yup. They can tell something is wrong. You 2 work so well together and that is a world of help. Fast recovery wishes for you Jim. Again, Gods blessings to you both. Friends are always in my prayers.
You guys did pretty darned good with that impromptu frisky horse round-up!!! I hope Jim’s recovery is healthy and quick... Keeping you both in my Prayers, 😇 🙏🏻
Well, bless your hearts, when it rains it pours. Yes, critters will always find a weak spot. Great news on your shoulder Jim. You and Miss Brenda are in my thoughts and prayers. Do as the doctor orders and you'll heal quickly. Take care of each other.
My favorite thing to do in every video is to spot the chickens. They give me a little chuckle every time I see them. Glad to hear Jim is doing all right. I hope things heal up quick
Pleased to hear the injury healing is manageable and surgery is not needed. Naughty furry kids working on their escape routines. Hope Brenda & yourself get help with the chores soon. Did order a calendar and waiting for the postal delivery. Stay well.
Mr. feed bucket always helps get the runaways back in the barn. A younger Jim could jump right back into the mix but today's Jim needs to take it slow & easy so the injury can heal. Slow & easy Jim, just like you would want your horses to do.
I'm so glad to hear you got good news from the doctor! Looks as though it was the dog that spooked Earl -- Skippy came running right at him as he was cantering towards the barn and made him turn on his heels and head back the way he'd come. I bet you were both frustrated with how silly the horses were acting about coming into the barn, but it was definitely entertaining to watch! :D
Happy to hear the good news! I f you do a Q and A could Jim talk about how he manages working the horses in colder winter temps? We are always hesitant to get them too hot/sweaty when it is going to be really cold overnight etc. We are in a similar climate (Ontario). Hope you are both well otherwise. We have some escape artists as well...and yes always worse when they haven't worked for a bit!!!!
Thank you Brenda and Jim for your update, prayers continue for your healing. It was funny how the horses didn’t want to listen to you Jim they wanted to try your patience’s. Prayers and blessings for the weekend chores.🙏🙏🏻
I hope you will continue to produce videos as you go through this process if y'all making the the necessary adjustments in your approach to your daily life under the circumstances you know have to deal with...I feel it would be both educational and interesting and perhaps shed light on just what it takes should others find themselves in similar circumstances
Thank you for the efforts to update us! And I LOVE my calendar; super pics of all my Working Horses friends! so glad you have help. Blessings to you both!
I,m glad Jim had good news. Nice to see him out helping with things and best of all don,t have alot of pain from the broken bone in the shoulder area. Guess it will take a month or so to heal up. Lovely horses you got there.Rest as much as possible Jim and take care.
Dear Brenda and Jim. Y'all have no idea how much we appreciate all of your videos and sharing your lives on videos. Your horses are amazing. Animals are very smart and they know something is wrong. I'm sure that is why they're not listening as usual. They are probably very concerned about Jim as we all are. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers. Just take it easy, and let your body heal. God bless you both.
Happy to see you and Brenda.Glad to hear the good report from the doctor. God turned your situation for good., you got extra work. 🙂I love the horses and they are being just a little naughty. 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Jim and Brenda, We have been enjoying your videos for a long time, and enjoy them so much! Those ornery critters of yours in today's video reminded me of all the times our horses would do the same thing! I'm so glad you weren't hurt worse and hope you recover quickly. Thank God for the folks who stopped to help you. Continue to heal, and accept all the offers of help i know you'll get. Take care, and you're in our prayers.
Your a tuff man Jim but it’s time for you to slow down as Brenda is able to helped you during you’re recovery, thank you both for your beautiful videos I know with horses sometimes they reserve us some crazy surprises but that come with their territory,Jim is lucky to have Brenda around to help and to take care of thing along the way.take care and stay safe.
I just remembered in tge small farmers journal a few years ago someone had set up so his mother could harness. The harness hung above the horse and she lowered it down instead of lifting it. Chicago fire department had a similar setup. Horses were in straight stalls with gates behind them. When the alarm rang tge harnesses fell on tge horses and the back gates oprned. The horses were trained to walk out and take their place at the fire wagons. Firemen had just a little left to do and they were on their way! 😊
Still praying for a speedy recovery Jim. As far as I know of, I've never had any broken bones but I can understand any discomfort that you may have or feel. Next month will be 30 years ago when the accident happened that caused me to be disabled but by the Grace of God I am still able to do most things that I need or want to do. Blessings from Northeast Alabama for you and your family.
I'm so glad you got a good report from your Dr. Are you right handed, Jim? And that's the arm you can't use right now. 🙁 But, Brenda will be your right hand for now!! The horses can all sense something's off! If it wasn't so exhausting for you, it'd almost be a comedy the way the horses are acting!! Hopefully, you can get some normalcy into their routine. It's good you have your girls to help you! Still praying all continues to go well. God bless your family! 💕
The horses know Jim is out of commision!
Tough to be a one-armed farmer! Hope you heal quickly Jim, because those horses KNOW you aren’t up to parr.
I think the horses are trying to say that if there is no work, out is the place to be, unless the weather closes in.
Yay! A Jim and Brenda video to brighten our day. Don’t forget to hit that thumbs up button!
.... and even share it on another platform if you can ... 🙂
And subscribe if you haven’t!
Jim, thanks God you don’t have to have surgery. Don’t overwork yourself. Let Brenda help take care of you and don’t argue with her.😂
બહુજ સરસ છે

Well, that was like herding cats! :) Feel better quickly, Jim, and Brenda, keep up your strength. You are the best partner Jim could have!
You're right about that, however it looked like the cats were behaving way better than the horses LOL.
I wish and pray fast recovery for Jim.
Those little imps! Those horses know something is very different. I think they can sense you are injured, Jim. Brenda is doing a great job with all the horses. 😊

Smell weakness.....
