According to your words- If you "no longer love the person, but still care about her" then why would you be a "dick" and treat her like shit so that she has to be the one to make the decision to leave instead of you being a mature man and simply part ways with her to find peace on her own ?????? If your female friend/ any female family member is being treated like this by her partner your immediate response as one who cares (even without love) would be to tell her to leave at the first sign of mistreatment. Think about it. Men ....Your mindset on this particular matter is a sign of weakness.
