    I'm disappointed the way the twins were answering some questions about SA, it seems like they never stayed in South Africa. Amapiano is commercial in SA or they should explain more. Amapiano is listened by Black n coloured people mostly n few white teens. Coloured people they r not just mixed but mixed from generations after generations, they r children of the world

    I think there might be some resentment because he realized he really dropped a very good deal just so he could bail his brother out hence being a little hard on him, but asking her to pay rent is a little extreme, rent is a constant so they probably split it 50/50 and he should instead have asked his brother to pay a little more when it got to these other fluctuating utilities. It would then be upto his brother to decide whether he asks his girl to chip in, or if it’s all on him.

    The Tyla situation is just an unawareness on both sides. As an African American, the term “colored” is actually a racial slur here used during slavery. It’s equivalent to the term n****r. As you know Black Americans do not share the same culture as the rest of America. During slavery any drop of black blood deemed you as a black person (colored). It’s not that we want everyone outside of Americans to identify as Black. It’s culture here. America is very race-biased due to our history. Most people don’t understand this until you’re a black foreigner entering America. You’re no longer seen as Ghanaian, Ugandan, British, or Nigerian, etc. society sees you as black. We love Tyla, but she missed the opportunity to educate Americans on things most were not taught in schools or society. South Africa went through Apartheid and America went through slavery. Different terms are used. Respect to both.

    • @marceljegels6029
      @marceljegels6029 2 дні тому

      It's not just about the terminology itself, I'm a colored person from South Africa and this a real culture, being a colored person means that you are of multi ethnicities... no two colored people have exactly the same blend. In Tyla's case the region she comes from is Indian and Zulu dominated so you can imagine she's not the same colored as a person from Cape Town or myself from Johannesburg it's not just being black some coloreds like Trevor Noah and Shane Eagle are whiter than they are black so it's much more complex than just leaving the country and suddenly you're black

    • @domainmojo2162

      We know what the term "Coloured" means in America. We're not dumb. We grew up identifying with the innercity/American/African-American culture, since the 40's- after the Depression when radio and television exploded in Southern Africa. And this isn't America. It means something else in SA/Namibia/Zimbabwe/Botswana. It's a specific group of people of mixed heritage, * with a distinct culture * . I'm sure you're also now well aware of that. We were united through our diversity- united because we were shunned by both black and white. United because we were outcasts. "Culture" is the point of contention, since within our communities, there is no "black" and "white" although we span the colour spectrum- even amongst siblings. (I'm light-skinned, fair-haired, while two of my siblings are light-brown and dark-brown- yet with the same parents- so much genetic diversity have we got) Our culture is different to the rest of our indigenous brethren. Our culture is a mixture of Christian/Muslim/African/Asian/European cultures, with a Christian-influenced culture being the most dominant. This has been so, since inception- prior to the 20th century. We also congregated/lived, during those times, in separate colonies/towns. We were a separate group of people, united by our mixed heritage and our vocation prior to the 20th century was mostly technical and mechanical(mechanists, repairers, gunsmiths, wagonsmiths etc..). So, we sold our services along those lines. We were the original "Afrikaners", before the word was stolen from us by the whites. It's also becoming accepted that we were also most likely the orginators of the Afrikaans-language (hence the word "Afrikaner" that we identified with) The history of the two places is different, you see. In the US, black folk had to stick together and there was such a thing as the one-drop-rule. Over here, black people were the majority and amongst ourselves, we are still very tribalistic, so this is party also what lead to all this. You see, we are a mixture of many different races/cultures- Indian, Khoi-San, Malay, Xhosa, British, Zulu, Damara, Nama, British, Otji-Herero, German, Oshiwambo, Scottish, French, Italian, Portguese, Spanish, etc... We're classed by geneticists as the most genetically-diverse group of people in the world. Outside of Southern Africa, although I'm European in appearance, I identify as black- even though it confuses people sometimes when they see a "white man" who says he's black- but that's the reality, so does Trevor, Tyla, Frank Fredericks, Cheslin Kolbe, Benni McCarthy, Wayde Van Niekerk, Lesley-Ann Brandt, etc... Others of my brethren and sistas who are mainly of Indian/Malay heritage will identify as Indian, etc..; but within Southern Africa, we're "Coloured" - an official racial designation- adopted and continued by the new South African government, from the minority White South African governments before it. (we had no say in it - no choice)

      @@marceljegels6029Trevor Noah is not coloured, he is mixed race and identifies as Xhosa. Having black and white parents doesn’t make you coloured… It is a distinct cultural and racial group, spanning generations.

      Tyla did explain in her 2 interviews, the one was on a radio interview n online magazine from last year and people were still stubborn to understand and the was a backlash.. So she is tired of this question, that's why she released a statement for people to read. From late 2022 some people never want to understand they just want to use her name on social media to make cash via views

    Why is it emasculating for a man to kneel to his elder? I think it's an act of humility. My only issue is that girls are made to continue while boys stop. Nigerians and pepper though! 😂😂😂 Sukali, dry fish goes well with meat. Lol With many African foods, you need to put aesthetics aside and focus on the taste.

    Excellent conversation. Take it from an "auntie" in her 50's much has changed and much is the same. When I was 13 my father caught me with a boy when he leaned in to kiss me. He slapped the *SH** out of me and told hm he would kill him lol. It was the shock of seeing his daughter with a boy. All that taught me at the time was to not get caught. I definitely did no social media. And the freedom was magical. I made mistakes that only myself, the walls and anyone else involved and that was out secret. Dating was interactive, guys actually had to make the trek to approach you, or send a message or come to your school. So much fun. BUT WE did look much older
