Crazy to think Joe Raposo (bass player) was only 17 years when he could play a song like this. Definetely an underrated musician an a underrated band!

Fully agree! Rock’n’Roll Nightmare should have been our Reign in Blood. A genre defining epic milestone that was never surpassed!
A great friend of mine tragically died 2 years before he did he showed me this song, makes me think of him. Rest in peace alex you will never be forgotten.
Rest In Peace, Alex~
RIP ALEX!!!
Arguably the most talented musicians that punk had to offer.
+ Lagwagon
And Bad Religion
Not punk. Hardcore
@@JBmusicart hardcore is punk..
Dont know about that. Bad brains were pretty good.
I love fast, melodic punk rock. I love bass. I can't stop listening to this song. It's fascinating ! I am speechless...
Same the drums are crazy but the bass is what got me
And he was 17 years old
Saw them in some basement in Santa Cruz ca when I was like 14 or 15. It was the first time I ever got stoned on weed. What an experience I’ll never forget
Bomber Manzullo was the GOAT of punk rock drummers!RIP Derrick, Jason and Bomber!
Agreed. I only just saw this band for the first time today after knowing of them for years and I was like FUCK OFF!, There's no way the drummers that quick. Then I was like, the drummer IS that quick 😮
This is the crown jewel of punk rock
I'm so grateful I never saw these guys live. Because I would have been dead after one song. I don't know how they keep it up. I get tired just watching them.
this was by far the greatest band on earth around 87 to 89.
Butthole Surfers were vying for the title in that time frame.... these guys are the challenge
My friend Sully turned me on to Rkl in 87. Probably spent 1,000 hours or more listening to rkl since then. The raw energy and power of RKL will never fade.
jesus christ, it's not every day punk bands actually know how to play their fucking insruments..
fucking rad!
This isn't Punk, this is American Hardcore
This is so much more than a "punk or hardcore" band, Great musicians...no, it's not enough words to describe RKL, its a trip beyond LSD! 👊👊👊
I hadn't heard this song 20 years. But it inspired me to pick up a bass again!! Another show I missed cuz I was grounded , THANKS MOM! ☠️
🤣😂🤣😂
I played bass for 35 years. Im not close to ever reach this playing😅
I missed Obituary in '97 because my mom grounded me, too. 😩
only 51,000+ views. No wonder the world is in the state it's in. Shit this is good.
Yo try 2021 my dude
Yess 135+ thousand as of early 2021 it’s good to see new people getting in these guys
Getting into these guys* haha
They may be getting there, but will it be in time?
No one can surpas those guys! Simply no words to describe their creativity!
Bomer. One of the greatests punk drummers
and bass player
and guitar player
He was badass on the Bass too. He played a beat up 'Rick' bass blew me away. I stopped learning guitar.
and also a great singer especially on the other record
Sick bass riffs. The whole band is sublime: super talented...
No the band is Rick Kids on LSD… 😅
If you really want an idea as to how intricate and complicated this music is, play it at .5 speed.
Forever in my mind and in my heart
J'aurais pensé aussi ailleurs...
dude tapping on bass! 🤯
2:12 The most INSANE BASS RIFF
Bomer (the drummer) invented it
To this day RKL remains ontop!!! It still lives on fuck yea!! :)
The bass tone on keep laughing is amazing. Sometimes I'll put a song from it on just to hear that bass tone.
@Noble Failures yeah I'm pretty sure havent looked into it but I'm fairly certain.
@Noble Failures ah I could be mistaken then.
the best thing on youtube
I love how you've came back here to leave another comment 10 years later
@@jessesmidt734 😀😀😀
RIP Jason....
I do always smile when I listen to this song.
My first show was RKL and Social Unrest in 85!
I lived on the East Coast & Mom considered me "To fuckin young!". So I was conveniently grounded when bands came around! THANX A LOT MA!
this shit is waaaaaay before its time one of the most under rated heshcore band ever!
*nardcore
@@MikeBrodyComic *codcore

+marcel peters - Wait, please rephrase yourself. These are some of the absolute best musicians.

I loved that song so much!!!!
RKL is the reason I play LP Customs.
this is fucking insane! the first punk band I ever saw. RIP Jason and Bomber. SB punk rock!
+Andy Taff Soon on my channel RKL live Paris 15 05 1988 .........ENJOY
+Phil R Is it up?
How did they die?
Incredible music to back up a very important message.
Jason Sears is the epitome of cool without trying. At least in my opinion.
Bomer and Steve "Thee Slayer Hippy" Hanford (poison idea), the best 80's drummers.
I SPENT AN ENTIRE GIG JUST WATCHIN PI DRUMMER, FREAKIN NUTZ
And Bomer also was an amazing pianist also
R.I.P. BOMBER & HIPPY
Don't forget Francisco "Paco" Carreno from Conflict
Miss my brother's so much
It hurts.but I do have this
Thank you uploader! (And Fat Mike). :-)
gotta love an intro almost half the length of the whole song.
one the most amazing and underrated punk bands in history.
I had the pleasure of seeing them only once at the Country Club in Reseda Ca.
So glad I got to see this machine live.
This is great. RIP dudes.
Fuck me! Just learned about this band from a Fat Mike video! Beyond epic!
Oh man, if I could go back and "discover" RKL again Enjoy the ride, You'll be ruined for any other band though haha
The best video on youtube forever.
THIS IS INSANE!!!!!
simply the best hc punk band

Super catchy song and the lyrics explain how to survive the media in 2022 going into 2023
Best Band ever!!!!
good music and lyrics, cant beat that.
how does this not have like a million views!? =O
rkl is fuckin legendary nardcore
Fat Mike sent me here.
RKL were probably the most intricate hardcore punk band the US ever produced
Check out “Cigar”
@@elce7115nah don’t even compare to these legends
i religiously listened to RKL back in the day. never hit the ramp without them. also, actor Josh Brolin was originally the drummer in RKL.
No way, He was?
@@johnsellas4455 at the very early of the band. when the are still playing as garage band.
Bomber was the original drummer for RKL.
@@johnflushing9328 I meant "originally" as in before he was an actor. sorry, not the original first drummer for RKL
Wow
Fire on the stage
Goats of Punk! One of the best drummers i'd ever listen. R.I.P.
Now this is what a band SHOULD be!
It’s fucked up how good they were, god damn.
This bassist.....holy crap
"Wo effin nelly"! NOW THAT IS ONE HARD WORKING BAND! They should be called " Rich Kids on Military Grade MDA"! Check out that bassist-man down, man down! FUCK YEA!
G. DALY The drummer taught the bassist how to play, and has written most of the bass lines on their albums. The bands tragic history parallels the tragedy of their popularity. Or, lack there of.
I still need to read the history on RKL and get their catalog. I found a t-shirt that I have had for years now with the "RKL" logo on it & for the longest time I didn't know what it was until recently! DUHH! Shame on me!
Thanx volimsir
G. DALY I'm envious, I can't get their merch here :) No problem man. I think you can find all of their stuff on youtube. The "Keep Laughing" album is pretty much just raw hardcore punk. Everything after that has this sound. There is also an unreleased Demo of a few songs they recorded just before the band disbanded. Just search for "RKL unreleased last demo" or "RKL demo 2005". Cheers.
+G. DALY I saw a RKL gig somewhere in 1987. The bass player was indeed insane. Never saw somebody playing like him again.
Seeing these old videos is wild. I knew Bomer pretty good. He was as much a maniac off stage as he was on. RIP Bomer
Fucking amazing band
Bomer was the most talented drummer of the entire HC scene
Fit Mike sent me here.
Some fuck: "Punk is so easy to play and entry level, listen to something more intricate"
RKL: Hold my beer
Fat Mike brought me here.. and now I'm not leaving.
The band that almost nobody is good or fast enough to play in.
Thank heavens this exists....best damn HC band live on the planet
The hardest working punk rock band ever. I can't this of any other punk band that was this insane!
"Bad Brains" are pretty insane too but i'm sure you already know that. IF not go check them out.
@@glumOr I just discovered RKL today and from what I see in this performance they seem a bit Bad Brains Inspired
20+ years later and a fat Mike reference on UA-cam lead me to this excellent music
This is nice visual
Insane musicians!!!
I do remember this band the instrumental rocks
Greatest punk band of all time, best punk musicians. Bomber’s drumming is the craziest speed I’ve ever seen. The man also invented the fast punk beat
Again, not punk. It's Hardcore
@@JBmusicart if anything hardcore punk. Hardcore and punk by themselves go pretty hand in hand man. We can argue stupid labels and titles all day but the fact still stands one of the greatest bands of all time.
Genres weren’t so refined back then; the “Punk” scene covered RKL, Sex Pistols, Minutemen, Butthole Surfers, Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Bad Brains, The Descendants; even crossover metal like DRI, Dr. Know and The Accused.
The creative variety is what made this era so cool imo, even fashion was all over the place; half of the time the bad just looked like a bunch of tired 20somethings in stretched out old t shirts and unkempt hair while the crowd was a mix of skate fashion, mohawks, skin heads, fashion unconcerned folks and everything in between.
@JB
@@elce7115 Great comment and spot on dude
The fact that I'll never be able to experience this greatness is whats going to drive me to my demise.
One of the first bands that got me into the scene.
Wow this is the best I love it
The bassist is Joe Raposo he's in Lagwagon now
+Troy Epps dave(drums) chris (guitar) and joe all in lagwagon
Fat Mike was not kidding stating RKL as a major inspiration...
Still loving it
They're really good. Drums and bass are kick ass aswell.
The masters!
Awesome band
Greatest punk band of all time
The Best there's ever been.
good people I remember. nice kids they were
madberlin how did you meet them?
The guys that are still alive play in Lagwagon now.
Barry "Dalive" Ward is still alive and isnt in Lagwagon. Search youtube for "B.K. Ward" ...thats his channel. Its full of great content & alot of RKL stuff not released anywhere.
blessed video
like a hurricane, but a positive one
Yes I am an IDIOT! For not lookin into the band "Rich Kids On L.S.D"-but it is my loss, that is for sure! Thanx Bosco for turning me onto "Blocked Out"! It's just FUCKING amazing and FUCKING tragic that the majority are deceased.:-* , I'm absolutely brought down to have learned of this "horror story" imagining how much more musuc we won't hear from this frickin machine! They could've in my opinion, and I've never given any band the credit I'm goin to give these guys ,albeit a little late, but "they could've rivalled "Motorhead"! I know /I know- but WO, I think if any band could've -this could've been the one. RIP & please accept my late apology...
Where have you ever seen kids rip this hard?
In SB,everyday after school
Van Hall, Amsterdam early 90's...best concert ever!!
Adolescents were crazy young kids when they started
now i know why fat mike had that rectangular bass guitar...
Can’t believe I only recently heard of these guys. They’re sick! Amazing hardcore / metal / somethin or other.
glad you discovered em. I listened to em back in the day but they were definitely not as well known
@@bigcryptid448 Heh they rule! The genre sits at a perfect place where both myself and my old man can enjoy it.
I'm into hardcore, he's more into 80s metal kinda shit, but was very approving of RKL when I showed him.
Two new fans.
@@CASHXRAT ever hear blood for blood?
Punk or hardcore...specifically, Nardcore
This, I like!
