I covered an earlier build of Big Boy Boxing last year. This new version hasn't been released yet (I think it's releasing for Next Fest), but it's a lot of fun and it's got a bunch of new fighters to beat up!

Hopefully we'll finally get a release date then, too.
Question: Why'd you cite Cuphead as a game that this one is similar to when it feels more like a Humongous Entertainment game (i.e. Pajama Sam and Freddi Fish)?
@@mdalsted Hi! I cite Cuphead because the devs have explicitly stated on the Steam page that it's inspired by Cuphead: "Big Boy Boxing is a singleplayer action boss rush with highly stylized hand-drawn animations, inspired by the 'classic Punch Out and indie hit Cuphead"

I'm getting a 90's slapstick vibe from this game more than the 30's or 40's slapstick era.
It's based off of those Humongous Entertainment games where you'd interact with stuff and weird things would happen.

I feel like the Cuphead inspiration isn't so much stuff in here that feels like it's from the Rubber Hose time period as it is drawing inspiration from Cuphead's commitment to accurately recreating a time period's vibes. Cuphead feels like it could be a 1930sish animation, this game really feels like it could be a 90s game or cartoon.
That first boss looks like that 'brat' from Cats Don't Dance, similar attitude too it seems like.

Yet another in the great line of indie games born from the idea of “if they won’t make another game in my favourite series, I’ll do it myself!” The same school of thought that brought us such gems as Bug Fables, Pizza Tower, Antonblast, Axiom Verge, Wargroove, Blazing Chrome, Flipon, Lisa, Undertale, Omori, amd countless other great games! I’m so looking forward to this! Indie devs do what AAA don’t.

Is it just me or was that unique intro one of the best ones so far? Either way I loved it and this game looks really fun.
When the full game comes I would like to see a video about how many rule infractions each fighter has similar to the punch-out video.

Edit: Wearing a dress, a head accessory and high heels(which might just be one whole attire infraction), no clear line between her torso and legs, damaging the ring with her hammer, rage issues, obvious poor sportsmanship, and oh yeah THE GIANT FUCK OFF HAMMER, which is two infractions! One for bringing it in, one for actually using it.

The hammer looks pretty lethal, so, i wonder, is trying to murder someone with a comically dangerous weapon an infraction or simply a crime?
I did Mr adyltmen: so first off, he’s wearing a coat, which is not a tank top or approved clothing, he wears a hat and glasses which are both head coverings, as well as non-approved boxing shoes, oh, and before I forget that there are LITERALLY 3 KIDS IN A TRENCH COAT, so that’s two infractions for outside influence because one of them could be the real fighter, they are also all underaged, so an extra 3, not to mention the pillows and boxing glove gun, there are (I’m assuming) 5 pillows plus the ones thrown at you, which is also interference, so a whopping 7 for that, plus two for the glove gun, (intent and doing it), adding the fact that they lied to the league official/bouncer implies that they didn’t go to a proper weigh in, and since they’re kids, they likely didn’t properly wrap their fists, so that is literally 22 infractions, Aran Ryan was beat by literally 3 children, 2 points

Something about Mr. Adyltmen is so charming to me, just the realistic jank and mechanics are so unique, but titanic 5000 is such a good idea and also pretty fluid, but what it has that adyltmen doesn’t is the most GODLY soundtrack I’ve ever heard sweet goodness why the fricking fracking machine does it go so crazily hard

I thought this game was forgotten about. Nice to see that it is still worked on.
The Mega Man vibes in the battle themes are heavier than the Titanic 5000, and the music/art overall is INCREDIBLE. Not only that, but it looks like the rest of the game will keep up the music/art standards while improving on the difficulty!
I like the animations they're very fluid but also retro at the same time, nice!

this game's animation is incredible and i like the speed, but i think there needs to be more transitional pauses during animations to give you time to process what just happened. like a small pause between the point where your beatdown chain ends, and then they go back to attacking, stuff like that
