I have a mix in my Meteor too, even some of my playfield lights are colored to have a little less glare for exposed bulbs. It looks a LOT better with LEDs IMHO.
Something to ponder: LED lights use far less energy consumption, less heat on plastics, that prevent warping, and less stress on older transformers, not to mention energy costs...
The incandescents looked the best. That’s what it was designed to be illuminated with. The bulbs were carefully placed to highlight certain features of the art. I understand that leds are safer and will protect the irreplaceable artwork. No led can correctly emulate the glow of a number 44 incandescent. Not yet at least.
Personally I prefer the original incandescent lights. Yeah it is darker but I suits most games. If you put them on location in can imagine you'd use leds, better attract mode, and lower energy bills
I see both sides of the issue. There's definitely a "nostalgia" factor with original lights, but they absolutely will cause more damage to the game sooner than LEDs. I also like being able to put 2-3 times more games per electrical circuit because of LEDs.
I know it's personal preference, but those cool whites look awful in Paragon. Save your money for something more useful, and just use 47's for home use. The myth that they destroy back glasses is just that. If it's going out on location, sure use Leds. But stay classy with them :)
Love the last one with combo cool and warm. Going to do it to my paragon I just got. Looking forward to your sound and game mod for it!
Last one cool / warm mix👍

Great video always wonder what was the best light to use on a head
Great test, thanks for the upload.
I would be very interested in learning how you would arrange the lighting on a Williams' Lucky Strike.

Those incandescent bulbs put off so much heat. Hate to put them behind a nice backglass
@@afattori316 47s don't run as hot as 44s. I've used them behind back glasses for over 20 years in home use, no problems what so ever.
