OMG, Lisa! I love your videos and I love your words but once again, I find myself fascinated by your Eloise on the wall, your stack of Tarot books visible in the shot and, oh! that gorgeous, gorgeous quilt!!! The deck is great, too! Haha
LMAO Brenda! You have a VERY astute eye. Yes, that's Eloise on my wall - where would I be without her?? The quilt was made for us by my mother-in-law. She's amazing - and it's too pretty to put on our bed!!
So cute! I just bought yesterday a vintage marseille deck...Classic tarot from 1974. Hope it is what it said it is. :) Will share as well. This is a cutie!!
Lovely mint condition and yours have the NY address. I just received my also mint sealed deck but with the slightly later Stamford CT address. Love it!
I've just received a mini deck that looks like yours but it's in a Stamford CT box versus a NY box looks exactly like yours though. Maybe mine is late 1980?
They moved to Stamford in the 1990s - and I think these little boxes were made through that decade, but I haven't found any discussion of the publishing history online. I'm glad you found a little pup that you like!!!
do ypu have any info about the r. w.s with the ankh in back of the cards.seen a few online but not sure of the dates also check out Katey flowers r.w.s comparison. love these vids.thank you
Hi +GOTHIKA - thanks for watching and taking the time to respond! The ankh version you describe is actually a really important and collectible version - and might have been printed anywhere between 1959/60 and the 1970s... Apparently these folks even were the ones who invented the LWB as a concept, and they kept PCS's designs in print during a hiatus after Rider & Sons stopped printing c.1939... Or so I'm understanding the history right now. A lot of conflicting information out there, and I haven't been doing primary research here - just depending on other folks' websites. Speaking of which, this website has a lot of good material - waitesmith.org/index.php/2015/10/14/university-books-decks/ .. And the Aeclectic Forum also has great discussions archived.... Hope this is a little helpful!! xo
