- Chapter 1 REVISITED!!
Weapon Master increases the physical attack and magic power from items and emblems by 5%.
Master Assassin increases the hero’s damage by 7% when going against only one enemy nearby.
They are both Tier 2 talents.
Which one has a greater impact?

argus glazers when "featuring argus"
@@RaldRhines Some random Argus user argued with me back then that the Weapon Master is better haha
For summary with my experience with these 2 tier talents
Weapons master
Pros :
Good (kinda) at late game if well fed or farm
Increases "extra" damage ( within the video its explained)
Best talent for heroes (late game types such as Claude with a duo or trio . Etc already tried its decent but I still prefer tenacity ) who can farm and rotate fast during early game
Cons
Weak at early game
Bad for heroes who can "only" farm at their lane ( meaning cannot rotate freely )
Relies too much on items which can greatly affect ( kinda ) your heroes capabilities if their a type of offensive hero.
Master Assassin
Pros
Best at early game or laning phase - these type of heroes are typically harass of pressure lanes like masha or zilong 4example ( backdoor types )
Heroes who have great damage at early game with or with items ( take roam helcurt 4example )
Can be offensive or defensive type
Cons:
Again already explained in the video - its useless during teamfights or enemy ganks or enemy leashes
Slightly reduce its usefulness during the transitions from mid-late game .
Overall who have a greater impact ?
It depends on your hero
If your hero can rotate freely - offensive type - can farm very fast - Late game type ( these type of heroes are previously mentioned have a duo or trio team or have been leashed by their team ) - can truly abuse weapons master effectiveness ( again its a gamble 2nd tier emblem cause it can backfire really bad unlike most 2nd tier talents )
If your heroes are Harass type - High damage type - backdoor/split push - Solo take downs - ambush type then master assassin is a get go ( again its very effective 2nd tier talent during early-mid game , losses most of its effectiveness during late game or pseudo late game ( mid-late game transition)

Although I am a tank user. Thanks to this guide I have a decent win rate with my MM using master assassin talent.
Nice informative vid learned a lot abt both MA and WM u got a subscriber outta me very good research
@@grimlord5113 I appreciate it. Thanks.
4:07 i have two questions about MA:
1. number of enemies nearby is determined by number of target lock icons available?
2. If №1 is correct: it say's "only one". does it trigger if there is no one around?
Thanks in advance
upd: found an old video, but talent description changed since then, so question is still there.
If someone's in the nearby bush, they also count
@thomasjaccob1457 but the range is that of a target lock with a center being you?
@EliksP probably, I think Elgin has an old video discussing the range of Master assassin or the old talent High and dry
Initial observation: MA relies on target locks, and any enemies under a bush also count.
Need further testing if you ask me.
whats the best tier 1 talent in your opinion?
@@quango2707 Agility.
MA is good when you play agressively in the laning phase to gain early game advantages, in my preference I only use MA for mm who has the tendency or ability to charge or close the gap in order to be in range of MA's effect such as moskov, claude, miya, melissa, bruno (maybe), brody, natan (I prefer the discount option more than MA but he can used it pretty well), wanwan (better go for tenacity since her passive boost a lot of dmg alr), roger. For the long range masksmen, better go for tenacity or WM if the heroes have some built-in phys or magical atk.
@@TrungHo-fd8rq Against smart enemies neither WM nor MA are recommended for all marksmen. Go for Tenacity instead.
The music in this video is fitting for Argus.
Pretty weird that Moonton even thought of this emblem talent.
@@ozzyrum6218 Both WM and MA existed even in Moonton's old emblem systems. But seeing the current one, I see more damage dealers that use WM instead of MA.
tbh, 1 on 1 I have enough damage anyway and highly skilled players are almost never 1 on 1. Even during the laning phase, noone would really like to confront Argus especially when he has his ultimate. If you use weapons master, you have to build high physical attack/magic power items like Blade of Despair or Holy Crystal, you usually don't want Weapons Master with something like Demon Hunter Sword. As for damage boost multiplier, I have war cry and sea halbert that give a boost of 16% damage together. Why no Weakness finder or quantuum charge you may ask? Well, I think Corrosion Scythe's passive does wonders already. Not only that, it is also an item with high physical attack (from the passive), which is great for my Crit Damage. Note, that Weapons Master does not benefit from the Corrosion Scythe's 80 attack passive. Also, I use Sprint for my spell. I find that I never really need extra damage from inspire and having an escape/engage spell is much more useful.
In any case, Master Assasin is great to level your rank fast in low ranks, especially if you are an early game burst exp laner like Dyrroth. I think, Dyrroth is one of the best heroes for this talent. Also it is a must have on Yin with his isolating ultimate.
I do play Argus with weapons master, but I go for a crit damage build and I have a Blade of Despair in my build. Early game just play safe, try pushing and help allies to win clashes using him primarily as a tank or pick-off. 1 on 1 he wins without the damage boost easily because of his ult and great chasing abilities (please, build boots on Argus, they do wonders in the early game and do sell them in late game).
Late game Argus is when he is truly scary able to dive into 1v5 bringing chaos to the enemy lineup and dealing just crazy damage. Awesome in both team fights and 1 on 1.
For something like Jungle Argus it is probably better to go for Seasoned Hunter to accelerate your farm, because Argus is mostly a late game hero. No, I don't want to rely on the slight offchance my enemy makes a mistake of staying alone so that my Master Assasin talent is not useless the entire game.
Do take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I never really tested damage output from Weapons Master on Argus. Just keep in mind, if you use something, do make sure to enable that something's potential to actually bloom.
Emblem I used before is mm emblem with Agility, Weapons Master and War Cry.
Now, I do not recommend to actually use the mm emblem. Do your own research before commiting to anything in your ranked games. I think, I used the mm emblem when it had juicy 5% extra physical attack, and later just forgot why I had it on me and left things be. I reckon, the Assasin's emblem should be better.
(1)
The Assassin Emblem deals way more damage than the Marksman Emblem, so the Assassin Emblem is still better on Argus even with a full build.
(2)
The total damage boost from both the Sea Halberd and the War Cry talent is 16.64%. It does not stack additively to reach the flat 16%, but rather multiplicatively.
(3)
The total damage boost from both the Master Assassin and the War Cry talents is 15.56%. The same goes with the Master Assassin talent and the Sea Halberd.
(4)
The total damage boost from the Master Assassin talent, the Sea Halberd, and the War Cry talent is 24.80%.
(5)
The anti-tank Argus build that I showed in this video deals the highest damage (including critical damage) among my three Argus builds (without boots and the Blade of Despair), with either WM or MA equipped.
(6)
For every jungler, the Seasoned Hunter talent is a must have tier 2 talent for obvious reasons, including your reason mentioned.
Great findings!
Yeah, I assumed sea halbert and war cry might not stack additively but I don't like to do maths when I don't need to. The bottomline is that it's a great combo.
Have you tested how Argus' 40% defense ignoring passive works with Malefic Roar? Have you tried Malefic Gun on Argus? I have seen people build it on Argus, I'm just curious if it's actually viable or a troll item.
Also, does Argus need % penetration when going against squishy heroes? Like his 40% defense ignoring passive's is no joke and flat penetration is much better against non tank builds. Is hunter strike or blade of despair better against heroes with
@@diketarogg The 40% "defense-ignoring passive" from Argus synergizes with the malefic roar. This is why it's more recommended over something like a blade of despair. Even against squishy heroes, based on my damage tests, the malefic roar still deals higher damage than the malefic gun. Also, I'm not sure if Argus' melee range could be enhanced with the malefic gun, since it's commonly used for long-ranged heroes, particularly marksmen.
Hunter strike was my recommended build over a year ago on Argus' first revamp, before Moonton somehow "revamped" him again. Now, I don't recommend it as much. I once opted for a CDR Argus, maximizing penetration and crits early on.
The great dragon spear's movement speed boost synergizes with his ultimate, along with the CDR component, and the hunter strike's movement speed boost activates after a full combo. My aims here are simple: penetration, CDR, and crits. DHS at late game as well. If I need attack speed, I'll just replace the hunter strike with the sea halberd, and sell the boots for BOD.
But now in the current patch, I'll go for corrosion scythe instead of hunter strike, windtalker instead of GDS, and Haas' claw or halberd instead of BOD. I don't use BOD because of how super expensive it is, and BOD is only usable in the late game or if you have a high physical attack scaling like Yin. The current Argus builds I use now lean more heavily on attack speed than on CDR. Heptaseas is now obsolete on Argus, and was only usable on his first revamp. The current Argus no longer needs flat penetration, except from the Assassin Emblem.
Argus doesn't need Wilderness Blessing especially in the early game. He prefers to stay in the lane than to rotate. Master Assassin is my go-to tier 2 for Argus since I need early game damage without relying much on items. As much as I want to go for Tenacity or even Bargain Hunter, take note that Argus is weakest at level 1 without any boost from emblems and talents (like Master Assassin obviously), or your coordinating teammates.
There are skilled damage junglers who gave up Seasoned Hunter for Weapons Master. They gave up their accelerated early farm in exchange for late game potential.
@@diketarogg If you need a flat pen item early, just opt for a Fury Hammer and *never* upgrade it to either Heptaseas or Hunter Strike.
The only hero i play with weapons master is Beatrix because of her already high scaling so i am rushing BOD and doubling or even tripling BOD. So no attack speed or lifesteal, just pure dmg cuz i like to spam rocket and machine gun ult for team fights. I play MA on everyone else for dmg. I dont even use it for the critical builds(it’s much better value i think… unless the calculations are stupid), cuz i would rather get bargain hunter for faster items then better late game due to game pacing being that fast and item passives being that much stronger then a 5% increase on raw stats
late game maximum extra physical attack(which is what WM looks at, the raw stats you gained form sources thats not hero base stats or growth) you can get is on martis(lv15 max passive stack plus 6 BOD and after hitting a >25% hp target) is 8(skin)+38(emblem)+90(passive)+960(6 BOD raw stat)+30(red potion)+321(25% BOD passive which is over the total physical attack), grants you a total 1697, which results in 86 from WM so it ends you physical attack with peak of 1783, he can now execute people at 2783 hp, but he doesn’t get to do that by himself cuz he dies in one hit outside his 2nd skill(60% dmg reduction of 3k per hit is still 1.2k and he only have 5.6k hp), he doesn’t have armor pen so armor screws him up harder and he needs flicker to even touch any MM who can have boots and can counter him with WON super hard cuz he can’t survive like 2 hits from MM or one mage combo even with that 60% dmg reduction. The point is for all that only to get 86 extra raw stat… it ain’t even that high, thats less bonus then Martin’s passive… bruh, just build tank and slap sky piercer and 1 BOD and that Martin’s is now unkillable, can tower dive, execute at basically the same HP of 2k, snowball faster, have a usable t2 emblem, more speed, and cheaper to achieve compared 6 BOD. For Argus, getting attack speed and armor pen is better since you are gonna be doing relatively same dmg but way faster and one armor doesn’t screw you over plus its cheaper so you dont have to wait for like 40 min.
@@tlmcarjustarandomduck3981 Beatrix doesn't even need to rush BOD. One BOD is more than enough for her in the late game. All she needs is to have some defenses. Luckily, RGM and WON both do the trick for her.
But early on, Beatrix is treated like just an ordinary marksman in spite of her weapon-switching mechanics. She can be easily taken out in the early game, just like if you use someone like Layla or Hanabi. This is why Tenacity is a must-equip tier 2 for almost all MM's, and why the Tank Emblem is generally preferred over the Assassin Emblem in terms of early game survivability. While you can still use the Assassin Emblem on any MM except Karrie for damage, you will usually play safe or get killed. So WM is a no-no for all MM's.
As stated in the video, any smart enemy can delay your farm and end your game with a loss even when your build is not completed. And any smart teammate can end your game with a win even when your build is not completed for the whole game. Smart players won't let anybody reach the late game when they have a clear advantage. If you are under-farmed, this high scaling does not give you chances of a comeback. Nobody cares even if you aim for 6x BOD when you are severely under-farmed and getting killed multiple times, and the game can be ended fast regardless of outcome while you may only have 1 BOD and 2 legion swords. Using WM will force you to gamble with only your base HP and defenses to protect you when you're alone.
Using MA on marksmen is plain stupid. Most of the time you will anticipate the enemy's roamer babysitting the MM. Most of the time you will anticipate ganks out of nowhere. Like WM, MA cannot save you.
Neither WM nor MA are recommended for all MM's.
@ I get your point, but… counter point, it’s funny when the enemy assassins die to one rocket barrage or shotgun blast.
Also I agree with you, my play style for Beatrix isn’t the best for carrying games, the glaring weakness of anyone who blows in my general direction kills me is pretty big. I rush BOD to have fun more than trying to carry. I don’t play Beatrix a whole lot since it’s boring to just farm under tower the whole early game, I wanna play aggro with someone like Brody with pen, tenacity, and brave smite on assasin emblem. Do you think I should change the set up for Brody for more dmg over heal? That 5% hp heal goes a long way for early game poking so I don’t know if I should get more dmg or not.
@@tlmcarjustarandomduck3981 Brody? Replace the Brave Smite with Quantum Charge. Killing Spree is useless on all marksmen, including himself.
@@tlmcarjustarandomduck3981 My builds on both Brody and Beatrix are almost the same, except Brody can carry DHS.
(1)
They both need a hunter strike.
(2)
They both need malefic roar.
(3)
They both need the wind of nature.
(4)
They can equip BOD as the last item.
@@myopiamlbb I build sky piercer since it goes well with Brody ult, and then complete hunter strike. I also depending on game state either go for malefic gun(range increase on basic attack goes hard) or def item depending on enemy comp and then rose gold meteor then I just go for brute force chest plate and immortality(swap into WON during revive animation) and would sell rose gold if passive on cd and have gold available because rebuying rose gold resets its passive time unless they shadow patched it, it’s rare for me to even get into late game with that much gold so I don’t pull that trick now days.

You are not guaranteed to always face 1vs1 everytime
So weapon master is the best talent except if it's always 1vs1 I will pick master assassin
@@Happybakedbread-f3r Weapon Master always relies on damage items. It's useless at level 1 without items. If you get under-farmed and get repeated deaths early, don't declare WM as the best tier 2.

So it is correct to use Master Assasin on Lesley? What is your suggested emblem and build for her?
@@Mysth_Kesshoka Meh. Wrong tier 2 talent. Should be Tenacity on Lesley and buy a thunder belt.
@@myopiamlbb Why would you buy thunderbelt on lesley? Wouldn't the stacks get halved? For thunderbelt to be fully utilized it must be used by a non marksman or mage hero, and lesley's primary role is marksman? I fought a lesley who got over confident with her 56 stack thunderbelt but still got 1 to 2 shotted by anyone. Tho tenacity is great if the team comp is full of melees without a proper teammate who serves as a zoner
@@mariuscaesarcanoza4049 The defenses from the thunder belt are halved but she can get away with it by poking from a long distance. Also, it's already combined with Tenacity. The reason she got one-shotted is either she used Weapons Master instead of Tenacity, or the enemies bought penetration items way ahead.
@@myopiamlbb My guy not even a tank build will help a marksman survived an open gank with an 80 points of defense, also wouldn't building an actual defense item thats specifically meant to counter the main enemies who can kill you? Like l won't buy antique quirass against a chou if l can keep track of his positions with my ult because of blue buff, cdr shoes and endless battle, offering a spammable ult if you didn't used the bullets. I will however, would buy athena against a harley and gusion because they have a stronger mobility than chou in terms of traversing the map which my ult's vision probably can't keep up with. Lastly is thunderbelt on a marksman is probably not a good choice because one need 66 stacks to mimic the same defense stats of Athena, l think rubyrubyruby did an analysis about it and his conclusion is that it's generally not worth it because the hybrid def needs to be at stacks of 3 digits to be actually somewhat decent, and I don't think poking an enemy as a marksman, no matter what, is worth it, tenacity is worth it tho if you're the type of mm to walk in battle, but lesley is not that type. You poke, run and wait, then repeat. Nice guide BTW I'll consider using it on my non dependent scaling heroes 👍

Items:
👁️ Warrior or Tough Boots
(no longer magic shoes...)
👁️ Thunder Belt
👁️ Windtalker
👁️ Berserker's Fury
👁️ Endless Battle
👁️ Blade of Despair
Only 2 marksmen are recommended to use the thunder belt as of this current patch: Clint and Lesley. Both of them have enhanced basic attacks from their passives, so aside from TB, they both are recommended to use EB as well. TB and windtalker both give Lesley extra movement speed along with the boots.
The reason I still use TB on Lesley is that she must survive ganks in the early game. Why? If you die repeatedly during early ganks you can't get enough gold to buy your necessary items. During the early game, defenses are necessary. Buying damage items without investing in defenses early will render you as squishy as you normally are.
Also, TB's true damage applies to Lesley's passive. Poking them from a long distance is her compensation for the 50% defense penalty that the TB has on both marksmen and mages, this is according to Strongwill Game Theory on his recent Lesley build video.
Can you make a video on
Marksmen vs assasin embelm on argus
Many players think that assasin Emb has high dmg
But for me it's mm EmB
It helps me a lot in early to late game
But still players prefer assassina emb on argus.
Just make a detail video on this topic bro please 😅
@@cold-otaku I have my video regarding the Marksman Emblem.
@@cold-otaku
But to answer your question, I'll get this brutally straight.
Many players "know", not just "think", that the Assassin Emblem has high damage. They know even without anyone researching and comparing which emblem is better for damage.
According to the damage tests in both my Marksman Emblem and my Malefic Gun videos, the Assassin Emblem deals the highest basic attack damage, and the highest critical damage, with or without Fatal, among all emblems that give adaptive attack stats. In the same tests, the Marksman Emblem deals the lowest BA and crit damage among all emblems that give adaptive attack stats.
The Assassin Emblem keeps up with the Marksman Emblem in terms of the time to kill the enemy, which involves attack speed. Since Argus deals critical damage, the Assassin Emblem has the shortest time to kill the enemy as well. And take note that crits give Argus more energy to fill up his passive faster.
The only thing that the Marksman Emblem excels is its lifesteal, but it is countered by smart enemies that give you anti-heal.
Players prefer the Assassin Emblem on Argus, because it is proven time and time again that the Assassin Emblem deals higher damage.
Joy with MA is useless in jungle it's better to be used on 1on1 and get WM instead because most of the time you have to be close with the enemy and naturally will run towards their teammate to save them which nullified the MA and Joy's Ult is AoE/Burst Skill
and Killing Spree would be nice if you're in JG or Lethal Ignition for extra punch
@@EthanTypically In jungle both WM and MA are both useless. Seasoned Hunter is even more recommended for every jungler.
Joy's ult is AOE burst, yes, but it will affect anyone around her. The question is how will you survive? How will you escape when you're about to get killed?
Lethal Ignition is better than Killing Spree. You have concentrated energy if you want some sustain.
@myopiamlbb That CE never absences to my build, it's neat core item for joy with starlium scythe, that's where she gets powerspike and this opinion was based on my 1k matches experience so highly recommend- but in real occasion i use MA in EXP when i have beef with anyone, but it's risky and always opt with WM for insurance with Lethal Ign as package ._.
@@EthanTypically WM is useless early. A level 1 Joy will rely heavily on the Assassin Emblem and that's all there is to it. You usually buy the basic boots at level 1, unless you are someone who has the No Boots Mindset and rushed buying a mystery codex just for the sake of WM to gradually increase its potential.
WM at level 1 is therefore a pathetic excuse for a tier 2. But late game with full build? Expect a smart enemy that buys Athena. Expect a smart enemy that has a perfect-timing CC skill and challenges a level 15 Joy to a dance-off.
Late game is where WM is at its strongest, but late game is also where deaths become more and more prominent, and late game is where counter-building usually happens. Risky if you ask me.

Off topic, but I see a lot of mm players used MA given how good the 7% increase in damage, but please... It only activates to a certain range or distance. So Lesley mains, and also mage mains, stop using it. 😔
Other mages can use it thou, like Kadita, as long as they get close to enemy to deal damage. The only mm I can think of who can activate MA is Karrie if she's too close, which is a bad idea for an mm.
