My 1st car was a 1969 Barracuda Fastback. 318 column automatic. It was in decent shape for the yr. I bought it in 1983 or so. I only had it a few yrs. and wanted a pick up instead. I always wanted another one and regretted getting rid of it. I live in Upstate,NY. In Dec. of 2020 I came across a 1967 Formula S model Fastback in Buffalo and I bought it. It has a 340, center console automatic shifter and factory A/C. I love the car and it is such a joy to drive and I really enjoy it. I really am not that interested in anything before or after the 67-69. Thankfully you found these cars and they can go to good use. AMD has body panels and other parts available for the 67-69. Back when I had my 1st car all that was available were fiberglass front fenders. So many of the 67-69 were stripped down or tubbed to race. My car has not had any of that done and is a nice complete and tight car. Awesome video.
I was blown away when it started! Seeing all that rust out I would have been afraid to put it up on the lift being afraid it would cave in two. would be very leary going under it too. At least the motor is salvageable. Another GREAT win for your skill and aptitude.
You are so lucky to be able to do what you do where you you are. I hope you never have to deal with bad neighbors, a town board or city that says you can't have any vehicles on your property that are not licensed and insured. Happy new year Brent!
I have property where the developers have put in neighbors with nothing but $2.5+M homes on minimum 2-acre parcels. I have a barn everything neatly fits and it's still outside the city. My closest neighbors are Apple & T-Mobile honchos. Get along well
I had a 1967 Barracuda Candy Apple Red with a black Vinyl top. Loved that car. It blowed up When I was going to Massachusetts for a job from PA. They were a sharp looking car back in the day...
If they were mine all I could see was some great yard art. with wheels and tires and blocked up for display.. Glad you showed what some people love to work with.
Hi Brent, I had a 65 Barracuda slant 6 with a massive back window, which I painted the glass sides white and added a roll-up window shade in the back side. Many good times in my formerly heathen days. God bless and take care your California subscriber.
This video reminded me of when I pulled my blue [ same color ] 67 Barracuda out of a garage 48 years ago in Michigan. I still have it, it's a formula S model fast back. Interesting that the seats at that time look exactly like the seats in yours , same shredded shape. Mine was rusted also but only in the bottom of the back quarters. Did the body work and drove it for awhile on the street , then turned it into a drag car. Built a 505 stroker engine, put in a Liberty Gears pro shifted Doug Nash trans mission backed up with a Dana 60 rear. Yours is probably gone by now but all the glass and trim is worth some bucks . Another great will it run video.
Hardly worth the effort but it’s amazing it ran! Glad you didn’t jeopardize Pablo big boy might of fell through that rusty floor.thanks John from Arizona
Man! Your parts cars from the 20's and 30's are better than either 'Cuda. I'm watching the Will It Run part - and hoping that if you do get it started the engine doesn't fall out on the floor. The random block of wood will increase the value. Love it (brake fluid), 'It's going somewhere ... I just don't know where ...' I'm watching you go down the driveway - shedding parts ... dang if it doesn't look like it's heading for the Barracuda Grave Yard to die ... Can't wait to tune in next week when you use a piece of pipe, engine, transmission, 2 axles - and rope reins - to putt about the yard. If anyone could, you can, sir! As always, hanks for the great work - and this week, EXTRA entertaining content!
Great find Brent! You made some people happy looking for parts! I'm glad I found your channel a year ago or so...learning so much. you inspire me so thanks again. I started watching the channel "Carter Auto Restyling" recently...the guys really good at sheet metal work. Did you see his video when he took a cracked fender and fixed it with fiberglass filler and tree branches? HAHA! It was soooo funny. At first I thought he was serious! I'm like..."what the heck is this guy smoking?' peace
If anybody can get them back to a new life I would bet you can. Thanks for sharing . Looking forward to watching this surgery 💯👀👀 Just see that come out of the garage put a smile on my face. Lots of good parts hard to find also. Thinking 1965 I know some of them had V/8 Hemi or 318 Motor sounds great . Digging it. Hemi under glass
Brent, that slant six runs beautifully , all things considered. Why don't you reclaim that engine and the drive-train for your Dodge '35 project. It will be all_Mopar, and no problems with the steering box , as in the V-8 transplants.
This is a pair of 1967' Plymouth Baracuda's. This body ran for 3 years with the first having NO side marker lights. 1968' had bullet style side markers and 1968 having a rectangular set. I am sure these are long gone since I did not see any snow on the ground and your wife's car was still on the other rack, but it would have been a really cool build to save them both making 1 from the upper skins and probably a Dodge Dakota PU frame. (I kinda like to keep bodies and drive lines in the family)!! I am sure whomever has them now is either wondering why they bought these or is parting them out.... Really, it looked like two total junkers, but many good parts remained that are well sought after.. Trim and glass, especially that back glass and trim!!! Trunk lids and hoods and both interiors including the side and door interior skins!! All tough to find in any kind of close to okay shape!!! The front seats are bother A and B and some C body. The console in the black car and the manual steering box in the blue car and the nose and grills on both!!! Lots of very saleable parts there.... Again, don't know what you paid, but I bet it was nothing compared to what the parts would bring!!
Hey brent, Good find, one thing to keep in mind is whatever you do, don't brake the back window. People try to find them and can't get one anywhere. Anyone that is restoring one will give you a ton of cash for the back window. Because of the bend in it no one makes a replacement glass for them. Later

Last year I bought a 66 cuda that had been sitting for24 years. Luckily it was on the dry side of our state so it was very solid. I got it home and was able to get it started and actually drove it off the trailer. It has a 273 v8. Very cool car.
Lol, I blew one of those old slant sixes up once! I bought an old Valiant wagon not running at an auction to use for a demo car. Drug it home and got it running but it knocked like a son of a gun. I was going to use it for demo anyway but when ripping around the field I heard a huge clunk and then it stopped knocking. Ran beautifully! Popped the hood and there was oil dripping off of everything and it had a huge hole in the side of the block... The connecting rod (most of it) was sitting on the inner fender and the force of the rod coming through the block knocked the starter off with chunks of bellhousing attatched and it was hanging from the wires. Lol, major carnage! Needless to say I had to find another car for the demo.
Best engine I ever had was in my Dodge Aspen. That 225 Super Slant six was bullet-proof. Plenty of torque. A shame Chrysler abandoned them. Salt really attacked cars quickly in those days....put the rear leaf spring shackle right through the trunk floor in my Cordoba. I was so happy to see that engine come back to life....though knowing those slant's like I do, I knew it would. Nice to see you wrenching on something younger than Al Capone for a change.

Wow... lol, awesome work man. I'm wondering if these were flood vehicles or just 50+ years of harsh winters. But as always great work. So typical of old Chrysler products,, that distinctive sound of the engine cranking, the distinctive sound once it kicks to life..
It's always heartbreaking to see what was once someone's pride and joy crumble to dust. If it wasn't for the structural carpet you probably would have left half the car behind you on the street.
Slant 6...best motor ever made, my Dad had a cab business when I was young. He would talk 500,000 out of them! I've owned alot of them Cheers from Vietnam
Slat 6 is considered a sideways hemi, one thing about them, certain years has a nylon gear on the distributor to prevent the heads to Crack if it overheats. But they are a very tough motor.
I remember seeing a couple of old dodge pickups that needed an engine swap looks like a great donar motor Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you
Love the old cudas. Hope some day they become whole again. Or aid in someone bringing theirs back. I prefer my 65 though. What made these cars so light also contributed to their early demise. The leaning tower of power! Tried to buy the grille and nose piece off a guy for wall hanger. Now i have a pilothouse obsession…
Very cool finds Brent. I have watched a ton of vids on the slant 6, they can put out more grunt than a 318 fairly easily. Can't wait to see what yo do with them. Cheers from Utah.
Get AMD on the line for a panel or two... be worth fixing up though... old Ontario rust buckets. Drop a resto-mod set up in the one. Brent! the General is looking good! Hey, If you're going to do Dodge... ya.. it'd be a Cuda for me... They're so cool they could have been Ford's or Pontiacs [if GM] lol Keeper's Brent :-)) Sell one to somebody in the States for big bucks and keep the other [or keep em both?] lol
I have rebuilt cars in similar shape. Takes about 3 years , not show cars but great drivers. Biggest problem I see with these are they are unibody not full frame. What ever you do I know it will be great. I enjoy watching your many talents
I would love to watch that thing get fixed up, and what you come with for it! So it would be cool if someone commissioned you for the job, so we can watch that process too.
Sweet!!! !1967 Barracuda Fastback. 1967 is my favorite of the second gen Barracuda's. I don't know what happen to those cars but it seems they have been parked in water or near a lot of moisture because there is nothing left of them cars. Maybe they were winter beaters and drove them in the salt.
Have agree there is no frame left. Glad it’s got a New home. Your so right about the North’s rust on these cars. A New Year battle! Thank you Brent for Sharing! 🎆 You got to remember a Barracuda is a mean Fish. Congratulations on the start. Just don’t drive it! 😂 Your a wild crazy guy. I love it 😍 You’re the best! Amazing 🤩
Slant sixes never die. That's a keeper (the engine). The body looks salvageable from ground up. Meaning no frame or floors of any kind, Good for body parts trim and glass. The rear windows are never in the junk yards down here. If I had a project Barracuda........🤔
My oldest sister's boyfriend when I was 14 had a 72 Barracuda; it was stock with a 2 barrel carb, and he put a holly 4 barrel on it. 3 speed on the floor. The way he taught me to drive was to floor it between stop signs, and he would have me wait to hit the break till the last minute. I learned to make a smooth stop. I done so well, he would let me run down the road a couple of blocks to the store to get a soda or whatever every once in a while. On the interstate it would shimmy when it got to 75 or 80 and planed out about 100 miles an hour lol. Yeah, I learned to drive like speed racer haha. It was a V8 as well. 2 door with the fastback as we called it; similar to these. Had the 8 track player, and he had Van Halen and some others in there that were appropriate for driving fast down the road haha
Brent it looks like what you found there was a pair of 67 barracuda fastbacks. I'm really not sure on the year I'm not much of a Mopar guy but to find one would have been weird enough, but to find two that's almost impossible. Anyway, keep it going.
The General putting in work! Great find man😮! Brent I got faith in you, them ain’t parts cars! I know you could rebuild the frame, and bodywork ain’t no hill for a climber like you.😊
I bought a 72 Plymouth Duster when I was 16.. It had a "leaning tower of power" with automatic. I drove it for a few months... Then I found a Duster with a 340 V8 that was wrecked.. So I bought it & made the swap... I swapped the V8 & the four speed on the floor.. After a couple years & money allowed , I decided to fix the wrecked Duster . The front clip & radiator support were toast , so I again I bought a Duster wrecked from the rear ... I swapped the front clip , pulled the 340 & 4 speed out of the original , and made it my daily driver.. I still had the slant 6 with auto , so I put it back in the original & sold it ... My dad grumbled all the time since he was old school.. He figured if it ran good leave it the hell alone ... When he blew the motor (350) in his 72 Suburban , I bought it from him for near nothing... I found a V8 (400) and dropped it in... After he drove it , he wanted to buy it back ...lol. I gave it to him seeing how I always had our carport & garage covered in cars with oil everywhere...
Just putting it out there as some folks have been inquiring, but both cars have new owners so I don't have any parts for sale.
That's awesome! Getting these two into the hands of a Barracuda enthusiast is definitely a happy end.
Great that they got homes 🍬🍬🍬

'67 - the coolest Cudas! great find and recovery - the only ting they missed out on was hemi power.
Mopar slant 6 - the leaning tower of power. Thank you for putting life back into the engine.
Wow... lol, awesome work man.
I sold Chrysler and Plymouths back in the mid-70s as soon as you said slant 6 I knew she was a runner!
Good score ,Brent , the back glass on those are hi $ if you can find them
For some reason I couldn't see you building a 60s car. Great work with Karl at Make It Kustom.. Hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas.
Great to see theGeneral in action! The blue barracuda would be great for a hemi drop what a cool car.
If Brent thinks it's beyond repair - it's beyond repairing!!!!
I believe they're '67s. They started side marker lights in '68.
Awesome thanks for sharing
Sweet!!! !1967 Barracuda Fastback. 1967 is my favorite of the second gen Barracuda's. I don't know what happen to those cars but it seems they have been parked in water or near a lot of moisture because there is nothing left of them cars. Maybe they were winter beaters and drove them in the salt.
Just like that......A couples of cudas on the trailer........😍😍😍 You got the knowledge...You will fix this!!!
Cool to see you get the old 225 running again lol and move around I didn't think it would hold together long enough
I will continue watching your videos forever! Thank you
LMAO floor delete. Love your place Brent . I grew up working in my Dads salvage yard. Never get tired of a good junk yard.
WOW, what a sweetie pie motor! Congrats on the start.
Those slant 6’s were great, no surprise that you got it running. No the real surprise is that you drove that death trap!!!🤣
Amazing 🤩
I love your attitude and optimism, your like your buddy Karl always with a laugh 👍✌
Brent it is hard to kill a slanted six. Had one that ran for 300,000 miles before it finally died.
Some good parts but nothing else. That's could be the most rust I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing 👍
Now you have to pick up all the bits that fell off. Great video!
Saved the light good catch!!
Looking at it at 45:05 I can’t help but see a pick up looks like it’s got good body lines for it
I can see you doing something special with these cars!
Had a '68 blue with white interior. 318 automatic. can't wait to see your results.
I know you could rebuild the frame, and bodywork ain’t no hill for a climber like you.😊
Love watching you
Glad you were able to rescue the pair. Seems what's was left of them will be put into someone's new project!
