    I've been using a HiTec X4AC Pro [basically a red Q200] since 2018. Still hanging in there. I use it every day, and it gets heavy use. Since I charge my packs at 0.5 A, it doesn't get too much stress.

    I have this charger but the one thing I really hope they provide a firmware update for... When you select an option like current, battery type, etc... The selection is shown by only putting a thin red line around it. When outside at the field, it is very hard to see that so I can't really tell what is selected. I am hoping they change it to have inverted colors or something to make it easier to see what is selected. Besides that one gripe, I really like the charger. High wattage on AC and 4 batteries charged at once. Really nice charger.

    • @adam.gibson
      @adam.gibson 5 місяців тому +1

      I sent Hota a feature request to make the selection easier to see at the field and the company responded that they will forward it onto the engineers/developer teams. Maybe something will come out of that. Still a great charger regardless, but better visibility of the selection for field use will certainly enhance it's usefulness for me.

    I just ordered the hota f6+ aswell.
    The reason it has the xt90 is because of the 1000watt you can give it by pluggin in a bigger AC or lipo. The xt 60 is not made for longer period of the power that strong running trough it. So thats why they used the xt90 :) for safety.

    Hey Nick, I'm still using one of your older recommendations, the Toolkitrc M4Q xt30 4-channel 5amp 1s-4s. It's perfect for micros. It will even do my li-on packs for goggles (with a xt60 to 30 adapter). Thanks for the reviews. ps the M4Q has the select all option, which I love. And it will do different cell batteries and different battery types at once.

    I've been running the F6 for almost two years, since it came out, and it's incredible. It also doubles as my bench top power supply for testing componentsand binding rx's. The continuous charging feature is sweet, though you can update any Hota with a firmware update. I love it so much that I just picked up this AC version and I've been using it for the past week. It's great, although I wish they had kept the scroll wheel. And it's not a huge fan of the touch capacitive buttons. Yes it absolutely is an xt90, just so happens I actually have some adapter so I can use it with my xt60 batteries.
    Great video as always Nick! Have a great week!! 😎👊🏻

      @@MishMoves I made a bunch of different leads. Xt60 female to xt60 female for powering up my powering up my 5-inch quads, xt60 to xt30 for my smaller quads, and xt60 to alligator clips, and xt60 to test clips. That way I can power up a brand new components before I put a soldering iron to them to make sure they work, I can power up receivers and go through the binding process before putting it on the quad and then having the VTX get hot during the process. Also nice for testing out LEDs before you put them on to make sure that they're all in working order. Also really nice for just powering up your quad for firmware updates or troubleshooting, without having to pull out and charge up a lipo. 🙂

    My Hota P6 has only two Channels, the same Interface and Buttons, but it's a lot faster without bugs.

      The ev100s and evolution are pretty dated. I think the evolution was flysky, these days we use a lot of elrs rx protocol. All sort of radio and receiver options and integrated with AIO. Radiomaster is pretty much dominating the radio market, I use the radiomaster zorro, its about $130, but they have another coming out soon sub $100. Goggles are tougher, The cheapest I would go are the ev800d, next would likely be something like the eachine ev200, like your 100 but better analog reception, better larger displays and fov.

    I just purchased the Hota F6+ and I'm trying to work through the menu and features. The one feature that has me stumped is the discharge amperage to storage. When I place a fully charged 4s, 2200 MAh pack on the charger and set the discharge amperage to 2.2 (I normally discharge at the same rate as I charge, 1C), the highest discharge rate I can achieve is .2 to .3 amps. Am I doing something wrong, missing something? Your incite would be appreciated. Peter.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      I really don't have a solution or a reasoning for those symptoms. Seems like either the battery discharge rate is limited or there is something not functioning properly on the charger.

    Speaking of the Vifly V3, have you heard about people having any issues with the plugs? On mine the ph2.0 are fine, but the bt2.0 are so loose that batteries won't stay connected. Oof, that interface looks terrible. Physical buttons are a must! And the dual channel Hota chargers have a single physical button to toggle between channels rather than waste time navigating menus. Even with 4 channels, that single button would be better. The other thing that drives me crazy about these is that they don't remember the settings for each channel. If I start a 4S battery on channel 1 and then plug a 6S battery into channel 2, the settings start out with the 4S from channel 1 instead of whatever I last did on channel 2. And then when I go back to charge another 4S battery on channel 1, it starts with the 6S settings from channel 2. It would be way better if I could just do all my 4S batteries on channel 1 and all the 6S batteries on channel 2 without having to constantly change the settings as I alternate between them.

    I understand that this charger is basically designed for fpv lipos with the xt60 connectors and all. But would this be a good charger to use on larger rc car batteries?
    95% of the time I’m charging 4s batteries with capacities of 8500 to 11000mah and xt90’s.
    Would this work if I made xt60 to xt90 adapters?
    Most chargers have a 10amp limit for charging and only 2amp for discharging.
    Making the process painfully slow, especially with larger batteries.
    Any advice or tips would be welcome.

    • @DarkSpice84
      @DarkSpice84 8 місяців тому

      Yeah go for it, just make adapters. I charge QS8 6s lipos with xt60 adapters. That's a adapter with a 300amp connector on one end and a 60amp connector on the other. Xt60 Is used on chargers because it's the most common plug, and connector strength is irrelevant when charging.
      For instance, even your 11000mah batteries at 3c (3x recommend charge speed) would only be an output of 33 amps. That's barely even half of the rated current an xt60 can take.
