I miss the old watchfinder channel. No shorts, no podcasts, no faces. Just a still unmatched, pure watch-related infotainment with sublime photography and soothing voice of the presenter.
I honestly chose this over the Daytona or rather the Jack Heuer 85th anniversary edition. It's beautiful and is a more modern size though if it was a couple of mm thinner it would be perfect. I never thought I would buy a Tag (Heuer) watch but the Autavia changed my mind.
The best watch channel period. No bs, no talking heads and poor quality video that doesn't focus. Straight and to the point with in focus up close video of the main attraction the watches.
The only downside of this watch for me at least is the size, I would prefer something in the 38-40, but that's down to my small wrist. I was sad when the scandal of the caliber 1887 surfaced as I found that move by TH unnecessary. On one hand they were developing micro grinder measuring 1/1.000 th of a second and then they ruin that pedigree and heritage with a cheap move. I have nothing against the base Seiko movement, I am a Seiko fanboy and I think that movement is one of the best out there, but the fact they weren't honest about it and claiming they were developing it for years, as I remember reading an article on that, that was wrong. I do hope TH gets back on track as the watch world would be a sadder place without such a historical brand
It was a bad move...nevertheless, 1887 really is a fabulous and beautiful movement that did not really deserved the bashing. For the price, there is no better chrono movement out there
I agree with you re. size, nicely put. I saw it at Baselworld behind glass and it looked amazing as it had done in pictures beforehand but for me just a bit big and a bit thick. I don't have small wrists but I am also not a fan of the larger watches, esp anything over 44. Probably 39 to 42 is the sweet spot. The aged strap on that one s amazing! Also like the 12 hour bezel, more watches should have this.
This cannel is a wonder. A watch expert with a soothing voice, who has a great taste of style and class, tells you fairy tales about these timepieces which are made with extraordinary intricacies. I feel like a child again I swear.
Such a beautiful desing, and also good quality for money. Which is not always the case with Heuer. With this piece the brand is moving to right direction. One of the most stylish new designs in recent years.
You probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother recently =)
I bought the first one that arrived in Hong Kong. I was disappointed. It looked much more beautiful in the pictures. The metal bracelet did not look good and I have only started to like it after I changed it for the leather strap. It made the watch look much better. The problems I faced using it are:- It is too bulky , it is noisy , it is really difficult to see what time it is when the hour and minute hands are over the white circles and you can forget about trying to see the time on it with the lights off. It serves me as consolation the fact that my Daytona 6263 Big Red is also hard to read the hours when the hands are over the white circles but, they were made decades earlier. Even though I voted for this model of Heur to be the one to celebrate the glory of the Autavia, I prefer the other chronographs of my collection, especially the Zeniths which are thinner and more classy.
I've been an avid subscriber and viewer of Watchfinder & Co for quite some time now, but somehow managed to miss this episode... well done... and well done Heuer! This is a great recreation, worthy of the history of Heuer... I've been on the hunt for a vintage like watch or re-issue for awhile now... I tried very hard to fall in love with the new Breitling Top Time, but while it has aspects of vintage... charging near 7k (inc tax) for a watch with a slightly reworked Valjoux 7753 didn't sit well with me.. I'd rather save 4k and buy the Hamilton IntraMatic Chronograph. This watch may find its way into my collection, but on thing in certain... WATCHFINDER & Co. needs to find its way into Canada! Thanks for your work... really appreciate the research and presentation of every single video you've produced. Well done and as you say "It means a lot... Thank you!"
Definitely the only Tag Heuer that made my head turn so off I went to the shops and now this watch sits side by side in my collection with the likes of a Speedmaster and Daytona to name a couple. I was interested in this watch for the past few months but after watching this video I was totally convinced that I just had to own an Autavia. Talk about wrist presence. This bad boy has tons of it.
I want a watch channel with this quality but where they show and review watches that most people can actually afford..love this channel though even if I dont afford
The Autavia could well be the new direction for TH, as a watch lover i always saw TH and didn't know what to think about it, now the new movement and watches like this give me a smile and respect for the brands future. And soon i will be wearing the Autavia. Love the video's !!
For most people the damage has already been done..,but it’s lovely looking. Should of dropped the TAG from the movement too.. BUT.. and it’s a big one.. it’s too big... simple as that.
I just picked up this piece to add to my collection. Was looking for a reverse panda dial with great horological history, I’m a big F1 fan also and this one checks all the boxes for me plus has a killer in house movement. Got a great deal also ($2800) with box and papers and warranty from respectable online jeweler. I own a zenith el Primero and IWC pilots chronograph amongst other pieces so this is a nice addition to The chronograph collection for a great price 2nd hand. Very happy with purchase 😎
This is a stunning Heuer watch, I have a Tag Formula 1 Calibre 5 and next year I'm looking to add an Omega Seamaster to the family, but this has really caught my eye, even more so than the Monaco.
Great in depth review, the Cal 02 Autavia panda dial is a winner. Recently got an opportunity to pickup the Hodinkee `Orange Boy' version. Mint preowned, this Autavia 02 is my grail watch as far as chronos go this ones really hard to top. So happy!
I would be really interested to see an episode on the Seiko 5. I know it is not a luxury watch by any means but I would like to know why it is so much cheaper. It has come to dominate the cheap watch market and I'd love to hear you tell the history of it.
Two and a half minute increments on a chronograph is definitely a deal breaker for me as is the thickness even though it is one of the best looking three dial chronographs around.
i think that this is a great looking watch. i love the dial layout, almost all of my chronographs have the same. the only thing i wish was different is the bezel, i would like to see the 60 minutes markers instead. altogether i think it's a win for th, now to look for a deal on one and hopefully it will get here before the end of the year. great video as always, i think i can speak for everyone when i say that the time and amazing effort you put in to every one is very much appreciated. thank you.
Absolutely good looking. I had always liked the general look of the Hamilton Kahki watch but too busy. The Autavia seems to have gotten it right. Sober look, easy to read, robust pushers, dark dial, just the right necessary complications.
They can be easily found for 3500 € now At that price I don't think you can do better than this...technically or esthetically. And i'm not even a TH fan
I just saw Ford V Ferrari. They were wearing these watches. My next watch is definitely going to be this Heuer Autavia. I can’t wait to get it! Thanks for your great videos!
Oh, the irony that the issue with the original Autavia was the legibility of the minutes and yet they produce a watch with 2.5 minute increments on the minute sub-dial.
At first, I was like, “watchy mcwatchface;” it looked crowdsourced to me. But the more I listened to this smooth British voice, wafting forth with convincing logic, the more this watch makes beautiful sense. I’ve never wanted a Tag for the reasons he said, but now I’m heading to the Tag site as soon as I finish this comment.
i don't know if it's just dirt on the outside, but I'm seeing some lint on the datewheel, on the 8, and the text on the dial seems super poorly finished to me. the design is alright though
from what i know when tag heuer does a reedetion for example for the autavia, monza, monaco etc..they are not adding the Tag ,they leave just Heuer because when these watches where launched it was just Heuer.Saw this in an interview with Jean Biver when he was apologizing on behalf of the company.
Everyone complaining about the size forgets for most guys with a 7+ inch wrist, 42mm (the same diameter of the beloved speedy pro) is the sweet spot for a chronograph. It is thick, but not that much thicker than a Valjoux 7750 chrono. If you're used to wearing svelter watches, this will wear like a can of tuna on your wrist. If you're used to most other chronographs, it will wear fine. Hell Planet Oceans are about the same thickness within a few 10th of a mm and those are 3 handers!
I tried on this watch last night at a local AD. Indeed a beautiful vintage inspired in house chronograph watch with one fatal flaw: it's too big. Both diameter and height. 42mm is too big for a vintage inspired watch, 40 would have been ideal. And couldn't they have made a movement thinner to keep the case thickness under 14 mm?
People will always have something bad to say about Tag heuer. I think it’s one of the most important watch makers in history and if you can’t appreciate the brand that’s your problem.
I wonder if watches like this won't be the savior of Tag Heuer, but may be the revival of watches only branded Heuer. Even if the difference is only cosmetic, it's a nostalgic selling point.
Nice watch, 33 jewells and 80 hr reserve, should be goox enough to attract plenty of buyers. Only thing that stops me buying one, is that LVMH, the owners of Heuer brand, insist on using TAG prefix on the movements and on some dials. There is nothing good that came out of Tag ownesrhip of sixties Heuer-Leonidas. When I bought the original Heuer Monaco and then Gold Carrera (brick), the heuer automatic chronographs were far ahead of manual Rolex Daytonas. TAG, in their drive for quick buck, have just screwed the brand value, without bringing in any innovation.
The diameter is quite nice but the thickness of the case breaks this watch down and that is such a same! Otherwise this watch would be way more popular.
I would rather buy a Zenith cronometro-tipo-cp-2 instead . It is under 13 mm thick and hence more close to the vintage chronograph watches . Obviously Speedy is as usual another option .
powerslavenegi Just take a look at subdials at cp2, ridiculously close, like it has strabismus or when fake watches tries to stick wrong movement. better if zenith took eta 7760 or similar. Not to mention that for rrp of 7600chf with zenith you don't get steel bracelet but instead most boring back I've seen, while tag goes for 4950chf with steel bracelet, see through back and most important, subdials that looks normal. This tag is far from perfect with this height but let's not compare it with cp2 as ridiculously priced and with dial which is ... sad.
Why is it that nowadays everyone is prising huge moments based on Valjoux 7750 as the masterpiece while my 15 years old Longines has much smaller chronometer movement Calibre 650 and it's perfectly capable
We know you want more watches…. click here: linktr.ee/watchfinder
I miss the old watchfinder channel. No shorts, no podcasts, no faces. Just a still unmatched, pure watch-related infotainment with sublime photography and soothing voice of the presenter.
Exactly! It became so annoying that I turned off bell notifications
Gorgeous watch, some people are going to hate on TAG even if they develop a cure for cancer however.
I was going to bed, and then I was "oh but just one more". And then one more. And one more. Can't get enough of Watchfinder & Co!
I honestly chose this over the Daytona or rather the Jack Heuer 85th anniversary edition. It's beautiful and is a more modern size though if it was a couple of mm thinner it would be perfect. I never thought I would buy a Tag (Heuer) watch but the Autavia changed my mind.
Definitely is a savior piece for Tag. I love it! They need to start producing more high build quality watches like this one
The best watch channel period. No bs, no talking heads and poor quality video that doesn't focus. Straight and to the point with in focus up close video of the main attraction the watches.
The only downside of this watch for me at least is the size, I would prefer something in the 38-40, but that's down to my small wrist.

I just subbed yesterday and watched everyvideo one after the other lol very dope channel keep up the awesome work my guy
Some snobby SOBs will hate it because its a TAG. if this was a new Rolex they would drool over while touching themselves. It is a gorgeous watch.
Laughing because this is true. I think of them as Rolexuals as they have a fetish for the brand.
You probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother recently =)
@Dariel Lian yup, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
If it was a new Rolex it wouldn’t look this nice, but they’d act like it would 😉
I bought the first one that arrived in Hong Kong. I was disappointed. It looked much more beautiful in the pictures. Definitely the only Tag Heuer I've paid any attention to in forever.
Ha ha ditto!
Definitely the only Tag Heuer that made my head turn so off I went to the shops and now this watch sits side by side in my collection with the likes of a Speedmaster and Daytona to name a couple. NOBLE's MiCROFiLMS try Minitwatch - not quiet as polished as the work Andrew & Tom do, but watches tend to be below £2k Seiko/Ball/etc.
Your finances will one day catch up to your tastes. Just be patient.
bluemystic7501 These are the nicest, kindest word I have ever read on the internet
gypo! ;)
very true, Gucci... they are just boring, it's kinda true.
Stunning, with properly sized elemets and of course a fully inhouse movement.
The Autavia could well be the new direction for TH, as a watch lover i always saw TH and didn't know what to think about it, now the new movement and watches like this give me a smile and respect for the brands future. And soon i will be wearing the Autavia. Love the video's !!
I’m not a Heuer Fan but this Autavia is something else. I’ve seen it today in a shop and it looks breath taking, I want one for Christmas 😁

Personally I love the design! I am also loving the quality of your UA-cam videos. Please keep them coming!
I love the format of this channel, some info about the history, perfect AV quality and not too long.
This is a stunning Heuer watch, I have a Tag Formula 1 Calibre 5 and next year I'm looking to add an Omega Seamaster to the family, but this has really caught my eye, even more so than the Monaco.
I've got my eyes on a Monaco!
One of the most beautiful watches in recent years!
Great in depth review, the Cal 02 Autavia panda dial is a winner. Recently got an opportunity to pickup the Hodinkee `Orange Boy' version. Mint preowned, this Autavia 02 is my grail watch as far as chronos go this ones really hard to top. So happy!

That Watchy McWatch Face joke was perfect
Two and a half minute increments on a chronograph is definitely a deal breaker for me as is the thickness even though it is one of the best looking three dial chronographs around.
Lawrence Rogers i kinda agree on the oh so very friggin weird minute totalizer, but i think i could get used to it.
The new version solved that. It now has single minute increments like it's supposed to!
i think that this is a great looking watch. i love the dial layout, almost all of my chronographs have the same. the only thing i wish was different is the bezel, i would like to see the 60 minutes markers instead. altogether i think it's a win for th, now to look for a deal on one and hopefully it will get here before the end of the year. great video as always, i think i can speak for everyone when i say that the time and amazing effort you put in to every one is very much appreciated. thank you.
I love this watch and now own one.
That's a looker for sure! Saw the Jack Heuer limited edition in a secondhand shop in Japan and was impressed. This is even better IMO.
It’s soooooo beautiful...
Absolutely good looking. I had always liked the general look of the Hamilton Kahki watch but too busy. The Autavia seems to have gotten it right. Sober look, easy to read, robust pushers, dark dial, just the right necessary complications.
The current update is one of the few updates I think is amazing. I'm not a Tag fan Heur yes but at least they have started to make in house movements.
Great to see Tag Heuer plough into its considerable heritage as opposed to just marketing designer watches.
I like that Gerber paraframe in the corner...
Looks great in pictures. Tried it on at my nearest AD, width is big but manageable; the thickness is just too much.
Nice step up for Tag Heuer.
I love this watch.
So perfect in every way.. just love it
I never thought id be so interested in watches. Thank you for making excellent videos that suck you in with interesting facts and beautiful watches.
For that price Ill buy speedy or oyster perpetual, but damn these look good.
kazakh mustang I agree, for 5k, you'd be better off with an Omega or Rolex. If it weren't for that beautiful face....
You wont be able to buy a speedy for 5k!
They can be easily found for 3500 € now
At that price I don't think you can do better than this...technically or esthetically.
And i'm not even a TH fan
An oyster perpetual isnt a chronograph though, so its a false equivalent. Thats like saying for the price of a cts v youd buy a range rover.
@@martyvenida good luck finding a Speedy or Rolex for 5K!
I really like this watch... just wish it was a bit thinner
Shipmate here in Raleigh they cant stay in the jewelers showcases, but i think were a smaller and slightly less sophisticated market :-/
1st time I’ve ever heard a Simpson’s reference in a watch review... well done...well done indeed.
I just saw Ford V Ferrari. They were wearing these watches. My next watch is definitely going to be this Heuer Autavia. I can’t wait to get it! Thanks for your great videos!
Very nice. Less of a tool look and more ornate than the original and the bezel is a little too wide, but it is a very nice watch.
Oh, the irony that the issue with the original Autavia was the legibility of the minutes and yet they produce a watch with 2.5 minute increments on the minute sub-dial.
Love it. It balances the old with the new very well.
Thank you Watchfinder, nice video, gorgeous watch. Can't afford to buy without selling others, though...
I really like this model. Its a TAG I would definitely consider. Not a bad price either.
"it was a different sport back then, way more different" love it.
Could you do a video on the history/opinions on some of the watches in you guys' personal collection?
i don't know if it's just dirt on the outside, but I'm seeing some lint on the datewheel, on the 8, and the text on the dial seems super poorly finished to me. the design is alright though

A Simpsons reference, that's all that this channel needed
Will you review an Armand Nicolet? Their finishing is also quite premium
from what i know when tag heuer does a reedetion for example for the autavia, monza, monaco etc..they are not adding the Tag ,they leave just Heuer because when these watches where launched it was just Heuer.Saw this in an interview with Jean Biver when he was apologizing on behalf of the company.

Hits the mark like a Robin Hood arrow. Super looking watch!
Jean-claude biver is like a godfather to watch companys
This is my favorite watch in my collection. I even get more compliments on this piece than my Rolex 124060.
Cover my vintage Heuer day date month chrono from the 50s. Pre TAG, must be complicated, but seems fairly common.
Nice video. So is this the new movement what is not made with Seiko parts?
I tried on this watch last night at a local AD. Indeed a beautiful vintage inspired in house chronograph watch with one fatal flaw: it's too big. Both diameter and height. 42mm is too big for a vintage inspired watch, 40 would have been ideal. And couldn't they have made a movement thinner to keep the case thickness under 14 mm?

People will always have something bad to say about Tag heuer. I think it’s one of the most important watch makers in history and if you can’t appreciate the brand that’s your problem.
I was planning to buy the new glassbox carrera but i saw this one in my local AD for 40% off. Is this still a good watch in 2023?
Autavia redition looks georgeous. The new Heuer logo is very nice. Glad they got rid of TAG 😂
Like it. At last a Tag worth having.
Mmmm maybe the movement reminds the Omega caliber 3330, Speedmaster racing coaxial chrono
I wonder if watches like this won't be the savior of Tag Heuer, but may be the revival of watches only branded Heuer. Even if the difference is only cosmetic, it's a nostalgic selling point.
Amazing work, breitling superocean heritage ii please
Your reviews make me love watches...!!!
Great looking watch. Unfortunately the bezel is aluminium..for this kind of money youll exlect ceramic
Any Oris would be nice to see a review on
beautiful watch
Looks great unfortunately the movement is not proven long enough. Vertical clutch is a great improvement though.
great upload again thanks
Ace, but who put that leather strap on it?
This probably can compete with Tudors black bay chrono in terms of movement specs
Great channel and more importantly great content. All the best in 2018!
Can you please review the Breitling navitimer 01? My absolute favourite watch.
no
can do a tag heuer calibre 7 gmt blue red bezel vs the rolex ?
Beautiful watch. Great review.
the only problem I have with Heuer watches is the small size of the movement does not match the size of the watch case, IWC does better,
Review some Blancpains please, Aqualung and Mil-Spec
Man that's a nice watch
I liked this just for the 'Watchy McWatchface' line..
size is a deal breaker for me. if it was 38mm to 40mm. This watch would be perfect.
Great videos, please consider reviewing Ressence watches. They seem innovative and enigmatic, I would like to hear a professional opinion. Cheers!
please review a franck muller!
Gotta get me one ! Perfect!
TAG, in their drive for quick buck, have just screwed the brand value, without bringing in any innovation.
Beautiful watch but the new bracelet is just horrible blingy... if only it had a brushed bracelet.
Would love to see Rolex Milgauss original vs the reissue.
Can you please review the Rolex OysterDate Ref. 6694? Thanks !
The diameter is quite nice but the thickness of the case breaks this watch down and that is such a same! Otherwise this watch would be way more popular.
So elegant ....
I would rather buy a Zenith cronometro-tipo-cp-2 instead . It is under 13 mm thick and hence more close to the vintage chronograph watches . Obviously Speedy is as usual another option .
powerslavenegi
Just take a look at subdials at cp2, ridiculously close, like it has strabismus or when fake watches tries to stick wrong movement. better if zenith took eta 7760 or similar.
Not to mention that for rrp of 7600chf with zenith you don't get steel bracelet but instead most boring back I've seen, while tag goes for 4950chf with steel bracelet, see through back and most important, subdials that looks normal.
This tag is far from perfect with this height but let's not compare it with cp2 as ridiculously priced and with dial which is ... sad.
I just took a look and the cp2 does look cross-eyed.
The Zenith is a stunning watch but it’s rather more expensive than the Autavia.
Why is it that nowadays everyone is prising huge moments based on Valjoux 7750 as the masterpiece while my 15 years old Longines has much smaller chronometer movement Calibre 650 and it's perfectly capable
I like it! On definitely on top of my WatchBucketList but it there with the winners 😂😊 👍😎
