    The graphic representation that shows the reasons for shortage and excess is simply SUPERB and easy to understand. Great!!!

    Great idea for a series. Perhaps more detail like types of anaemia and more causes of abnormal results etc would’ve been useful to include but I appreciate the time these videos must take to make vs other commitments.

      Absolutely, I need to do one for anaemia workup - would have made this one vastly too long but it's very interesting stuff

      Yes I will - will be going through U&E, LFTs, clotting profiles and Group and save/cross matching etc at the very least

    How to use FBC machine

  • @davidwheatley593
    @davidwheatley593 5 місяців тому

    Would an FBC show up cancer or infection in your body?

    • @OllieBurtonMed
      @OllieBurtonMed  5 місяців тому

      An FBC could be suggestive of either of those things, but wouldn't be confirmatory (diagnostic) of either. The best way to look at it would be that the FBC could give you more data points supportive or otherwise of a particular diagnosis. But just because someone has a raised white cell count for example it doesn't necessarily mean they have an infection, although it would be consistent with that diagnosis.
