Thank you so much for this! I keep seeing Okatee thrown around and loved how they looked.. but never understood what it meant. great idea for a video! Question: Are there any differences in personality... feeding and care requirements for them vs. Standard corn snakes... From what it sounds... it is not a morph, but a different species.. or is it really at the end of the day just a corn snake?
They are just corn snakes, no difference in personality or anything :-) it is technically a morph, just a morph that originated in the wild that is more selectively bread than a mutation.
Okeetees are my absolute favorite! I got extremely lucky and got one for free when i bought two others from someone who couldnt care for them anymore. They told me it was just a normal but when I saw the thick borders i immediately knew he had to be Okeetee. I asked in the facebook group and you agreed and said he looked buckskin! Hes an amazing snake. My local petstore had an extreme reverse okeetee that i sexed as female and omg I cant wait for her to mature!!!
I literally can't wait until I start breeding my extreme okeetee phase. I did see a question on FB that got my mind running. If you breed let's say extreme okeetee x buck skin or like a Miami, who would dominate? Like how do you calculate how the offspring is going to look or do they combine into an in between? I hope I'm making sense lol.
It can't really be calculated. At that point you're breeding two different types of normal together basically. And you'll get a mix of offspring. Some looking like one parent more, some looking more like the other parent, and some with an in between look.
Not a problem with that at all. Just keep up with the amazing videos and the incredible information you are doing . Just wanted to remind you that ,I wanted to Thank You for taking the time out of your day to Share with us all about your expert advice you sharing with us all. Bravo
This was a great video. I'm looking forward to watching more videos on mutations that you have done
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
I'm a sucker for all things Okeetee. I'm quite partial to my Abbott and Howie Sherman Okeetees!
I missed the Sherman line!
Much appreciated
Good I'm so glad!

Oh I really like the red zeppelins! I can't believe that I forgot to mention that line of okeetee!
