- Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007) sings Oronte's aria, "La mia letizia infondere" from Verdi's opera I Lombardi. This was captured live during the tenor's September 23, 1973 recital at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus.
Pavarotti as amazing as always, but the pianist is doing a great job here as well! His piano is a real orchestra here.
he could sing wonderfully throughout his career, but these early pieces are unbelievable.
So much oxygen, young Pavarotti's voice, so handsome!!!
absolutely gorgeous ! Gotta love the guy !
Maestro Pavarotti commanded such a lush, gorgeous tone here...filled with light,
warmth, power and electricity! Thank you for posting this marvelous glittering gem!
Added to my playlist...Bravo!
No mistaking the warm, effortless, rich voice of the Maestro Pavarotti! I will listen to him forever!! Thank You for posting this moment of the young Luciano..Sella in Canada!!
Grande Luciano
BRAVISSIMO!!!
Único
La mia letizia infondere vorrei
Nel suo bel core!
Vorrei destar co' palpiti
Del mio beato amore
Tante armonie nell'etere
Quanti pianeti egli ha
Ah! Ir seco al cielo, ed ergermi
Dove mortal, mortal non va!
Ir seco al cielo, ed ergermi
Dove mortal, mortal non va!
Dove mortale
Dove mortal mortal non va!
Dove mortal, mortal, mortal non va!
Dove mortal, mortal, mortal non va!

It's a beautiful rendition, but I also listened to corelli, I feel his voice is stronger, personally I think Corelli sounded better 😊
Corelli really nails many aria and I think this is one of them too. I think Corelli maybe sounds better in this case, but Pavarotti gives a very light sunny rendition Corelli can't which I think makes both super enjoyable renditions (but again I agree that Corelli was almost made to sing this).
Lmao.
