Big up fam 🔥 Lowkey is different. One of my favourites F.I.T.B's! Jam-packed/crammed with substance. Potent one liners plus unreal wordplay to stitch it all together nicely.
his pen game is wild. his mind is on another level. the passion for knowledge & poetry he puts into his music just evokes so much emotion. he mentioned a lot of what imperialism & capitalism has done to us, like when he stopped himself at a certain point “union leaders murdered by coca cola” is what he meant to say. he mentions so much that it makes u research forreal
I also feel like that line is a subtle shout out to the rapper Gift of Gab who was one of the earliest MC's to popularize the idea of rapping the alphabet in his track, Alphabet Aerobics.
Thank you for doing the request bro No matter the pronunciation we're brothers the love is all that matters bro👊🇿🇦❤️ Please do Lowkey Goat flow and return of Lowkey
Lowkey is the turth man, shining light in this dakrk world, they dont want his music to blow man Lowkey Akala - Painted Smile immortal tech- caught in a hustle, the martyr
"shock doctrine in effect, disaster capitalists salivate" this line is referring to a policy practiced by american activists where they wait for a tragedy to befall a group of people, and in the wake of that tragedy, they push through hyper capitalistic economic reforms (privatization, less spending on social services, etc) and it has disastrous consequences. read "shock doctrine" by naomi kleine for an in depth look into it. "power to those who keep their keys, return is promised please believe" is referring to the Palestinians who were initially forced out of their homes with the creation of Israel in 1948 and have kept the keys to their original homes to hold onto the hope that they might return someday. "power to union leaders murdered by--" he cuts himself off here on purpose because he's not allowed to name who he's referring to, but he's referring to Coca Cola. In "letter to the 1%", the song he made based off this segment, he cuts himself off with the sound of a soda can opening. "power to corpse washers like S-- Allende" another part where he cuts himself off on purpose. Salvador Allende was a democratically elected leader of Chile that was overthrown in a US backed coup that resulted in a dictatorship.
